We had done our research and almost everyone was saying pavers are the way to go for a long term, low maintenance patio. We decided to call and receive bids from three different companies. The company that came to give us our first bid didn't take measurements or give us the time of day, but the cost was half of what the second and third bids we were given. Aaron and his team at AJB were the second bid we received. He wasn't the cheapest and he wasn't the most expensive, but he spent a lot of time with us and shared his vision of what our patio could look like. We were impressed with his ideas and knowledge. His vision was definitely more than I had envisioned for our patio and I loved his ideas. The company with the third bid spent time with us, but didn't give us the quality of service that we had received from Aaron. Their bid was a few hundred dollars more and since the service wasn't as excellent as Aaron's we opted to go with Aaron and his team at AJB. We almost didn't get the third bid because we were so impressed with Aaron and his vision, but opted to because the price between the first and second bids were so far apart. We thought a third bid would give us a better peace of mind with the expense. In the end you get what you pay for and we wanted a patio that was done correctly by someone who was knowledgeable even if it wasn't the cheapest. In our opinion cheaper isn't always better. My husband and I were a little surprised with the cost of a paver patio, it was about twice what we thought it would cost, but after watching the crew and seeing all the work involved we can understand it. We're so thankful we went with Aaron and his team. They were professional and very hard workers throughout the entire process. After a month long process of calling landscaping companies (all highly rated on Yelp) which resulted in many unreturned calls and one declined offer (from a company that took 2 weeks to get back to me), I was lucky enough to be given the business card for Martinez Landscaping. This is why I feel so compelled to write this glowing review for Martinez Landscaping. You won't find him/them in the yellow pages. They are somewhat of a hidden gem in my view. I was in the process of selling my house and needed help cleaning up 2 years of neglect in my patio/garden area. It literally looked like an untamed jungle until Abad (the owner) and his workers came to my house. He came to my house, gave me an on the spot offer ($70 for 1 hour worth of work) and got to work right then and there. You could not hope to accomplish as much on your own in several hours as these 3 guys accomplish in one hour. It's actually quite amazing. I actually felt like I owed them more than I paid (that's rare with me). As a bonus, they weeded a small area on my neighbor's side just to be nice. And the owner himself is a genuinely nice, helpful guy. He was telling me he took on a massive cleaning project on a large yard that had been untouched for 10 years. So apparently there is no project that is too much trouble for him and his crew. Another helpful thing I learned from him was that you don't have to be present at home for him to do the work (a godsend for a busy single person like myself).

It was completely rude and unprofessional on their part. They should have taken responsibility for their mistake and apologized to me.
