In the end the closing was improved 90% and with the rain and cooler weather, the door is closing well enough for now. I plan to have them back in the summer if it becomes a problem again. This guy comes out to bid on the job, all smiles and handshakes. He sends his proposal, we go back and forth on logistics stuff, he does the job, then BAM!!! Here comes the emails and phone calls. Apparently I told him that I would put the check in the mail Monday, but I probably said that I would "send it upstairs by Monday". We have a large company, that has administrative checkpoints and certain days that vender payments go out. But only 9 days after the job, I open up emails from him threatening collections, fees, penalties, etc. Apparently he has his wife send these nasty emails from his email account. You would think she would have her own email, being that he is the "VP/Project Manager" (so sophisticated, Mr. VP). So I call him, not because he threatened me, but because I seek out guys like this, just to see what makes them "tick". To my surprise, he was very negative, threatening, patronizing, and a real smart *ss. I would never allow a guy like this into my home or business.
