J&J get's one start only because zero stars was not an option. We once owned a beautiful home with 7 fruit trees in the back (peach, apricot, apple, orange, fig etc,) and an almond tree in the front. We decided to pay what we thought was a "professional" landscaper (J&J) to maintain our yard while we were away on an extended job assignment (3 years) so that our beautiful fruit trees would flourish while we were away. We returned a couple of days ago and found five of the trees dead, the irrigation system inoperable, the landscape looking like s**t. We will never use J&J again. read more

Met with Jose for an estimate and thought his bid was fair and competitive. I approved the work so he arranged the delivery of the landscape rocks right away and Jose met with me at the nursery. We talked about my preferences in shrubbery and he gave me his recommendations for what would do well in the open areas of the yard (sunny vs. shaded spots, etc). We agreed that the job would start the next day at 7am. Jose showed up early, with all the plants I selected at the nursery the day before (no switches or surprises, which I really appreciated). We did another walk through of the work to be done, while the crew was setting up. The rock was delivered on time too. I was hesitant because it was A LOT of rocks dumped in front of the driveway but I had to leave for work so I couldn't stick around. I got home later and what a transformation! The front yard looks so nice! Jose stopped by later that same day to see if I was happy with the work and he pointed out an irrigation problem the crew found. I appreciate that he took the time to actually show me the leak on the yard instead of just fixing it and just charging me more. I paid him for the price originally quoted once we finished the final walk through and he made sure all the work was done to my liking. I can definitely tell the difference and how much nicer the yard looks. I thought the price was fair, the job was completed as scheduled and I also appreciated Jose's customer service. Service was horrible. Not only were they 4 hours late, but only one guy showed up and he didn't know what needed to be done. He proceeded to call Jose, who is the owner, to get orders from him. All the work they did was half-ass and my yard needed maintenance again the week after. The service was super expensive compared to the quality of work that they provided. I would not recommend this company at all. There are way more cost efficient landscaping businesses that provide better quality service compared to them. read more

I have been a customer of this landscaping company and pay my bill regularly. I have them come every 2 weeks because I have grass. I was informed yesterday that my property will not be serviced for a month due to scheduling issues. I have a small dog so my grass cannot go 1 month without being cut. I understand that there may be staffing issues to where they can't come out this week so I asked to be scheduled the next week. I was informed that is not possible and that I would have to wait a full month. I asked to speak to the manager and the front desk girl Ruby said that her manager is "too busy". So I asked for her to call me back. I never received a phone call back so I called back today. Ruby answered and said I cannot speak to the manager because she is not in that she can maybe call me by Friday. I asked why not tomorrow? So she said she will be "too busy" tomorrow. I told her a phone call takes less than 5 min. She stated very condescendingly that she knows and she can't fit a phone call in. She was rude and disrespectful on the phone. The I asked to speak to Jose (the owner) so she says he is also busy and MIGHT be able to call me by next week. Are you kidding? How is this an answer from a business???? They obviously don't value their customers! They need to find someone with actual customer service skills to answer the phones too!!!! Terrible!!! Very disappointed! read more

They came out the first initial time to give an estimate, price was great til only one young guy showed up, just trimmed my rose bushes and didn't even touch my lawn, not even cleaned up the edges. They told me they would call back in about a month for the next appt, never called.. Actual yard service started out pretty good. They did a good job of trimming bushes, palms, plants etc....however after setting up bi-monthly service, I got a letter in the mail saying that payment for their service was past due. So I give them a call and the office manager can't seem to figure out why they sent me the letter. It took one of the owners to step in and say it was their mistake. After that, overall service went down hill. They basically breached the contract and stopped doing the work that was agreed on. The owner Jose would come out and try to change the rules and told me "oh we don't do that," or "I don't think that was in the contract." I honestly got tired of his BS and empty promises. There are so many better yard service providers out there and would NOT recommend this one. The workers also don't care about anything you have in your yard....I had several broken pots and glass from the fire pit blown all over. They definitely do not take any pride in their work. They just try to get in and out as fast as possible. Considering I have small kids that play in my yard, glass blown all over is unacceptable. read more

I used J and J Landscape for over a year. Their initial service to clean up my yard after I moved in was great and the work seemed aligned with the price. Because of that, I hired them to maintain my lawn on a bimonthly basis. The ongoing service left me frustrated at best. I was never able to understand the billing cycle (I set up automatic payments). It left me confused and feeling as those I was overcharged frequently but when I inquired would get confusing answers. I asked them for quotes to add to my current landscaping and their prices were outrageous and I rarely understood what they would actually do for the price. They fixed a few leaks in my irrigation system which I appreciated but now that I know how to repair them myself, I realize their prices were again OUTRAGEOUS. So I get a flyer at my house and the timing is perfect. I have palo verde trees and yellow flowers are everywhere. I like to try and support different businesses especially those that I feel took the time to hustle for my business. I contact the company and schedule and appointment the staff was very professional. On the day of the appointment I get a call about 20 minutes before my appointed time and the gentleman tells me I have an appointment between 1 to 2. No I have a 1p appointment and he tells me I should have been told all appointments have an hour range. So I cut to the chase and he states he will be there at 1:25 and he arrived slightly before 1:25. Now I only need a clean up the front of my house, side of my and the side along the driveway. This is a standard Las Vegas house so we have minimal property and they were doing anything in the backyard. Quotes me $90 for a clean up. Well I want this done and say ok and today if you can. He gets a guy over and he does a very nice job but it takes about an hour to blow all the stuff out of my rocks and clean it up. Nothing against this company but when my landscaper is charging slightly less than an electrician to do a back job like blow stuff out of the rocks and clean it up I have to say this company is significantly over priced and I should stick with people who paved my backyard. I didn't want to bother them for such a small job and I want to give another business a chance but even my guys who mostly do larger jobs only charge $50-$60 for a simple clean up. I used J & J two years ago to redo our front yard landscape and hired them again this fall to redo our back landscape. I designed both landscapes myself using an inexpensive landscape design program for the PC (which I strongly recommend if you like to know in advance what it will look like) and Jose and his team executed the design flawlessly, providing tips for plant selection and placement where needed, and they never complained or up-charg me when I had special requests or instructions during the projects. They started and completed both projects on time and Jose (owner) called my cell whenever they were running late or delayed for any reason (which was rare). The crew worked hard and were approachable and helpful when I had questions or special instructions. I was surprised and delighted that the lead worker from the first project was also the lead for the second, two years later. With all the labor shortages during COVID this speaks to how the employees are treated at J & J. I learned about J & J from a friend and would not hesitate to recommend them to other friends. read more

Honestly, I'm really sorry I have to write a negative review of this company. I wanted to do business with them and thought I had found the answer to my landscape woes. I met with Jose, and he provided me with a proposal of $80 per month for maintenance. I was interviewing other providers at the time, so I ultimately called back to accept his offer. At that time, I also told the company I needed an emergency sprinkler repair and asked if they could come out right away. We scheduled an appointment via email (I have a crazy schedule and it's easier for me to respond that way). I asked for 9am and got a response indicating that Jose would be at my home between 9am and 10am. Since I had already met Jose, I wrote back saying that I might not be available, as I would have to leave shortly after 9am (remember, I asked for 9am sharp, not an hour window), but that the other resident of the home could meet with him. Fifteen minutes prior to the appointed time, I received an email saying that the appointment was cancelled because I may not be there. Again, I had already met with Jose. I had agreed to their terms. I would have paid anything they wanted for the sprinkler repair, as I don't have time to interview a lot of contractors. Also, I had juggled my schedule so I likely WOULD have been at the appointment. To cancel at the last minute like that is highly unprofessional. There was no reason Jose couldn't have dropped off the paperwork for me to sign, as I could have driven it to their office later that SAME DAY (they are literally just up the street from me). It left me in the position of having to find someone else right away after I thought I had the leak problem addressed. This wasn't just a minor leak, by the way. It was a GEYSER! I worked hard and paid a lot to save my landscape, but I certainly can't water it when I'm also irrigating the street, sidewalk, top of my tree, passersby, etc. To top it off, instead of apologizing and trying to win back my business, the office employee (who, by the way, will literally laugh at your concerns) continues to antagonize me. I would steer clear of these guys. I actually work with homeowners selling high end home improvement products and services. I know quality homeowner service, as I provide it daily. These guys shouldn't be working with anyone, much less homeowners who expect high quality service. I hope they can improve and learn from this experience rather than berate additional customers who don't agree with their purported "business model." read more

I have a new construction home, only the front yard is currently landscaped with only several shrubs. I was quoted $150 to trim the shrubs and blow out leaves, etc. Ridiculous price. Without my authorization they came the next week and cleaned the yard. I was not at home so one of the workers came by the following week to collect $180. Damn near criminal extortion. Avoid this company. Very unscrupulous. For comparison I now have the yard being maintained for $15. read more

They followed my instructions, even checked with me during their clean-up and prune to make sure everything was going according to my vision. My yard looked great when they were done. J&J's rep came on 7/4 and gave estimates for work for both my house and my mother's house, which is across the street. We decided to start by hiring them for my mom, as her situation was more urgent. When I called the company the week before last to give the green light, they did not have the estimate in their system and said I'd have to find my copy of the paperwork and furnish it or we'd have to start over. I found this exceedingly odd but my mother was so anxious about her yard that I decided to move forward anyway and found the paperwork, which I scanned and emailed to the company. I didn't hear anything from them, so I called several hours later to learn they had not received their own paperwork via their Email. I was told to photograph the estimate and text the image to a #, which I did. It was finally received and a rep. got in touch with me a day or two later to schedule mom for the following week. The gentleman who called scheduled us for 7a this morning, August 6. I asked if there was anything a little later as my mother is elderly and is not an early riser and it's nearly impossible for health reasons for her to be available at that hour and I was told "No, that's all we have". So I took the 7a reluctantly but politely. Since mom couldn't be up to greet them, assess their work, and pay them, I woke up at 6:30 and headed over to her house. They never showed up. I waited til 7:30a, then went home and went back to sleep, as I was recovering from various company in town for my recent 50th birthday. At 10a I woke up and called the office to notify them and find out what happened. Politely I explained that no one had shown for the 7a appointment. The woman who answered said "yeah, you're on the schedule today but not until noon. Someone tried to reach you. " I said, "No, I didn't miss any calls before the appointment, not from anyone from J&J" and she went on the defense and asked if I wanted the service or not. Her tone was very rude and there was no acknowledgment or apology for having missed the appt. without so much as a phone call. She said I'll take you off the schedule and hung up on me. I then checked my phone and saw that at 9:25am a text had come in from Jose to call him. I called J&J back and stated that I had received a text, but after the fact which was not ok. I stated that a phone call to reschedule would have needed to happen BEFORE the appt.. to which the rude woman replied, "You said you weren't contacted but you were" and I said, "Look, I heard from him two hours after after the appt. was supposed to happen. An appt. that I begged to be later in the day and was refused" She said if you don't want the service, we're done. I'm not going to argue with you". I said "I don't want to argue. What is the name of the owner?" and after a long pause she said "I am". I said I find that very surprising. Will there be no apology, no attempt to earn my business?" To which she replied, "Fine, if it makes you feel better, sorry". and I said, "No that's ok, you clearly don't mean that" and she said "have a great day" and hung up on me. read more
