I did not get a recording when I called asking me to press a number, I was not told I had to have an appointment to come get an estimate or that I needed to pay a deposit, and I was treated kindly. The price was lower than one of the other local places I called, so I decided to bring my car here. I paid for the parts in advance upon their suggestion for a faster repair, but it was not required. It did cut down on the waiting period. After providing an estimate on the repair, Jeff noticed a piece of plastic loose on the front bumper. He didn't know if I would be returning to get the repair or not, but he secured it temporarily for me without me asking. When I dropped it off for the repair, it was finished in less than a day. I was having the front bumper replaced and painted. When I went to pick it up, I was astonished and really touched. He had not only done an amazing job on the repair (not one noticeable piece out of place), but he had washed the car and polished my headlights. I was so full of gratitude. As long as they are in business, I will not go anywhere else. They made my 11 year car look new! The shop is very small, and when you pull up to the front (it's a little hard to find because it is not well marked and is off of a side street) it doesn't seem like a body shop. There is a little office door. You can just pull up on the sidewalk or on the street and walk right up, and you will be greeted. They don't seem to have much of a waiting area. You can walk to railroad square from there to kill time, but you would be better off having someone help you drop the car off. Please support this local business!

The awesome wrecker driver from Lawson's Paint and Body brought us to Powerhouse. As you can imagine,we were pretty frustrated. We were a day and a half into a long road trip, for vacation, and had no idea how serious the breakdown was. Both Jim, the owner, and Phil, the manager, went way above and beyond to make us feel comfortable and entertain us. The first thing Phil said when he introduced himself was "I want to put y'all at ease. " And he did. They have a really nice waiting room with sofas, a big screen tv, reading material, and a little kitchen.  Phil even offered -- no, almost insisted -- to bring us food from a nearby fast food place, though we declined. And the bathroom was clean and even smelled nice! Luckily, they were able to repair the truck relatively easily and quickly, just a couple of hours. They even off our transmission fluid. Importantly, they didn't have enough mechanics on duty at the time to get to us right away, but knowing that we were on the road and broken down and stuck, Jim did the repairs himself. When Phil noticed the Navy stickers on my husband's truck, they bonded over having been in the Navy at the same time, and gave us a military discount on the already VERY reasonable bill. Neither of us has EVER had such amazing service from auto repair, and we've had some great mechanics!

Shop owners went above and beyond with one of my most valued gifts; my daughter. Took her car in for issues that we've been chasing for almost a year (at a different shop). I initially tried to give them a detailed description of all that has been done and luckily they asked to look at it with a 'fresh pair of eyes'. Much to my surprise, given the thousands of dollars I've already poured into this car, they FIXED it! Diagnostic took longer than the fix. This job required skilled and patient professionals, which is exactly what we got when we walked into this shop. Communicated with me every step of the way. Unfortunately, I handed them a half broken key fob, which I forgot to tell them. As expected it broke after a test drive. When they called to notify me of what happened, I apologized profusely as it was MY fault. Now some of you may think, oh well, the key broke while in their possession, so it's their responsibility to fix it. I couldn't disagree more, however, they still took it upon themselves to get me a new key. Their rationale - I didn't need the added headache after all the trouble this car had already caused. I didn't think it was possible, there are still some businesses out there with integrity. I wouldn't trust any other mechanic to ensure my daughter is in a safe and functional vehicle.

After services were completed, I paid and left. I called back by the end of November due to my coolant light coming back on, so I contacted the business letting them know the light was on and that was something they were supposed to address in November. I had someone check the windshield wiper fluid it was low. I went back to business they put fluids in the car. In March my check oil light came on and my car hadn't even reached the numbers that they post on the sticker on windshield top left corner. I had someone check the oil and it was below the minimum mark. I did not notice any leaks or oil on the ground. I felt by me being a woman they took advantage of me and didn't service my car at all, but took my payment. I will not be going back.
