I'm very pleased with the work J & L did on sizing my wedding ring. My wife and I were married 45 years ago and my hands outgrew the ring. I tried to have it sized years ago, but a Jeweler told me that it couldn't be done due to the ring being both Platinum and gold. So for many, many, years I thought I wouldn't be able to wear that ring again. That is until I recently brought it to J & L. I asked them to make sure that the bracelet was then not too long as a piece was being added. When I got the bracelet back, it is now too short. This store is denying that they removed any of the chain to make it short now. How can a bracelet fit perfectly and then have a clasp ADDED and end up now being too short? Found this place on yelp and needed to get my grandpas watch fixed. After he passed I thought it would be cool to wear as a little tribute to that hell of a man. SO contacted these peeps about it, they said come on in for a quote. All in all it took about a week and a half for them to make all the necessary repairs. (I think they needed to send it out for the antique face plate) Face plate was scratched, battery needed to be replaced and a couple links needed to be taken off to fit my scrawny wrist lol. BE AWARE... I have a Armani watch that was in need of a new battery so my father offered to take it to J&l jewelry I was of course busy so I gave him the watch and had him get a quote to replace the crystal also, I ended up proceeding to just get the battery replaced for the $8 quoted my father left his contact info as well as mine , two weeks later he was contacted stating the watch was ready for pic up so I went to pic it up, upon arrival they seemed confused stating they didn't do anything to it because they were in able to get consent to fix battery which was very odd, they then said they would replace the battery and contact me so I made sure to verify my phone number for them to contact me when finished, they didn't contact my but did contact my father several weeks later stating it was ready for pic up, he was not paying any mind pays the some how no $80 + bill and left They then contact him asking him to return because he was falsely charged and needed to issue a refund Then by the time I revived my watch I find that that completely mangled my watch changing the battery , it now scratches my skin when wearing. I'll be very honest, when I first walked in- I thought for sure this would be a 1 star review. I walked in the 2 lady's helping customers were both busy. No problem. And, to circle back- I can tell you why no one acknowledged me when I first walked in. The workers there really spend time with you. Although I walked in for a free service, the owner herself, asked me about the pieces, what I'm looking for, and just in general about my grandfather (the pieces were his). I mean there was someone waiting and she still took the time to talk to me. I also noticed that every worker there knew the names of the people that they were helping. So After my experience here I can definitely say I'll be coming here to get my heirloom made.
