When I told my husband to guess how much they wanted it took 6 guesses and he still didn't get that high. My husband purchased just under $14k over 11 years, birthdays, anniversaries and Christmas. Several of those pieces have needed to be extended or resized. Necklace length 15"? thats a choker. Bracelet 7 1/2" rope, not unless your 20. Dome earrings that have a ding after replacing since one of the posts was denting the hollow underside. Withdrew ALL my pieces because impractically high pricing. Just did a few repairs. Tooo rich for our wallet. They wouldn't look at my trade ins of estate pieces even for gold weight or stones, offered me $200. Pieces from a Pasadena renowned jeweler. The short: From the moment I started interacting with the team, everything felt personalized and special. I would recommend M. Schneider to anyone looking for a special piece of jewlery whether it is custom piece or one one from their own beautiful pieces. Also, Steven Plank was so wonderful from the moment I met him. The long: I started off my journey using their online service to message their staff about a specific cut on a moonstone. I tend to be shy about shopping so this was incredibly helpful for me to get the process started. I soon went in to start discussing my ring ideas. Steven sat down with me and listened to my story with full attention. He was reassuring and appreciative of the ideas I had and promised that they could do whatever I envisioned. Soon after, an artist came out to help design the ring I had in mind. Eventually I met Mark. He listened to my ring ideas and looked at what we had developed so far. He gave a few suggestions on the ring design and gave me a tip about how to design the ring in such a way to protect the moonstone and really make it look like the engagement ring I wanted. He was so kind and patient. His suggestions were perfect. Steven took be into the back to tour how the rings are made. From the wax model, to the metal working, to the finishing. They do everything in house and that is something that was so valuable to me. My wife and I couldn't be any happier with the care, time, and communication we received from the team. My husband (and baby daughter!) and I all really enjoyed the entire Mark Schneider experience and would *highly* recommend them to anyone looking not only for a special piece of jewelry, but also for amazing, high end customer service. My husband and I just had our tenth anniversary and decided to upgrade/add a ring that commemorates the difficult journey we made from struggling students to a place of blessing (blessings that include our three month old daughter). I had actually discovered Mark's work in a magazine at Starbucks before I even met my husband, and was immediately drawn to his floral engagement pieces. They were such a work of art! I'm actually not a "jewelry person" and generally am a simple person, but I do really appreciate art, craftsmanship, design (I work with engineers), and I love nature, so they really caught my eye. I would sometimes go to their website and browse and dream... Fast forward to the present... When my husband mentioned getting an anniversary ring, we immediately knew the piece that was right for us...Mystic is reminiscent of the simpler floral design my husband chose ten years ago, and feels like it represents the growth we've experienced in our decade journey together. The laser etched engraving that says "love you forever" in Mark's secret heart is a sweet touch (and super cool from an engineering/design perspective!!) One aspect that is amazing about visiting the actual studio is that they can customize the ring however you want. We kept most of the design as-is, but because I am more simple and because we just had a baby, we asked them to lower the head so that the center stone didn't stand out so prominently. They easily took care of this, and could have done more had we asked. We got to peruse their sketch book, which showed how other customers had either modified one of Mark's original designs or designed an idea themselves that Mark's team made a reality. The sketchbook was a highlight for me, because I got to see the artists' handiwork... Which is part of the fun experience of visiting their studio. We also got a tour of the lab where they make the jewelry, which was awesome for someone like me who likes to see how things are made, and the front studio was like visiting a museum where we got to see Mark's award-winning pieces! The customer service was outstanding. We haven't found a sitter for the baby yet so we had to bring her with us. I was so nervous they would look at us with distain for bringing a baby to a fancy jewelry store, but instead they were excited to see her and several of the "grandmas" took turns pushing her around in the stroller--even Mark himself took a turn! I tried to keep my cool, but after so many years of admiring his work, I felt like I was meeting a celebrity hero of mine... And here he was, pushing my baby around his shop! Instead of feeling like country bumpkins, we felt like royalty and were treated with genuine kindness and service. Instead of feeling out of place in a snooty store, we felt like guests where everyone was very down-to-Earth. Nas helped us the most and she felt like a friend by the time we were done. Steve had great suggestions as well, such as going with a moissanite stone instead of diamond to better fit our budget and purpose. These guys are great, I stopped in this afternoon on my lunch break to see if they might be able to fix a new silver necklace I had that broke at the clasp. After coming through the double security doors and some nice greatings with Mark Schneider himself and his team, they had my necklace fixed within 10 minutes using a laser in the back room and wouldn't accept payment! I was very impressed with the way they treated me there, even offered water and other beverages for my wait. We have just purchased our fifth piece of jewelry from Mark Schneider. We always receive top of the line service and absolutely amazing custom work. My husband and I had contacted at least six jewelers, three were word of mouth contacts, looking for someone to help us with our wedding rings before I stumbled upon Mark's website. His pieces were so unique and intriguing. He was the only person that was willing and able to fulfill my dream of owning a custom engagement ring. I had a rough sketch I drew of a ring in the shape of a lotus flower with padparadscha sapphires around a diamond. We were stationed in Japan at the time and unable to meet in person, but our contact, Dipti Shah, sent us multiple updates and photos to make it a truly personal process. It is such a wonderful memory of when we traveled to Long Beach to pick up the engagement ring and both of our wedding rings. It still amazes me that they were able to take my drawing and turn it into a breathtaking piece of jewelry! After our daughter was born, we wanted to get her a pair of baby diamond earrings. Unfortunately for my husband, our daughter's birthstone is diamonds, hahaha. Mark and his team were able to make us a pair of gorgeous sparkling diamonds with backings that screw on for securing. I'm still a little apprehensive about getting her ears pierced, but they are ready for her when she gets a little older. It makes us both so happy to know that her first diamonds are from the same company that made our wedding rings. This year, we went back to Dipti and Mark to see about getting a padparadscha sapphire necklace. It is absolutely gorgeous and more than I could have ever envisioned. All I knew when we first met with Mark earlier this year is that I wanted a necklace or maybe some earrings. We went back and forth on sketches until we landed on a riviera style necklace. We were also able to get the stones from the same vein that my engagement stones came from which feels like fate! Like before, Dipti kept me up to date with photos and choices throughout. What they did for us to make this necklace is more than I can explain and such a blessing. The loyalty we feel for this company is beyond words. They have taken care of us like we are family and the quality, craftsmanship they put into our jewelry exhibits mastery in their field. I recommend them to anyone who compliments my ring and cannot wait to show off the new necklace! And I'm already daydreaming of the next piece of jewelry to come, haha. ;) read more
