    Stew-wee, that's some fine Brunswick.
    Mike V.

Thirty-four days wondering in the wilderness without BBQ and salvation finally came in the form of J & L's Wild West BBQ. Mounds of chopped, moist, pre-sauced Pork piled high on a soft bun accompanied by Onion Rings and some of the best tasting Brunswick Stew I've had in a long while. Well, obviously at least Thirty-four days. My only let down were the Ribs. Over cooked, and slightly dry the Ribs lacked that glaze you want from painting them with sauce allow the Sugars to caramelize. I am looking forward, however to returning for more of that Stew.

    Small combo plate.

Classic hole in the wall barbecue spot with really good pork barbecue for a reasonable price. I ordered the small sandwich combo and it was plenty. I'll be back!

This is our go to for family gatherings and parties. We get a couple pounds of pulled pork and we're good to go.

They have a great pork sandwich. It is a small place attached to a gas station. They have seating inside.

. I had a pleasant visit previously and since they don't require reservations decided to stop in…read morefor bday brunch on Sunday . We arrived at about 1015 and were seated right away (we were the only patrons). We all got the chicken and waffles (with syrup on the side), a side of potatoes, grits and Turkey sausage. I have to say while the food was not nasty, it was not as good as it was at past visits. Everything was just meh. The chicken which i remembered to be perfectly cooked and seasoned seemed to be not cooked well, maybe not fried hard enough but seemed to be cooked on the outside. If that makes sense. Even looking at pics of chicken from before and yesterday , you could tell yesterday wasn't their best. Although the grits were too cooked and not very appetizing and Turkey sausage was just too gamey for my taste . Most irritating (for lack of a better word).. the music. So it was a mix of rnb and hip hop ... ok, fine i guess . Although on a Sunday morning I would think the selections would be a bit milder. And i knew most of The songs and liked them but some of the lyrics were the unedited versions with extremely explicit lyrics. I did not say anything but I guess someone came to their senses and switched the song at the end. I also attempted to order a mimosa and was told that they couldn't make it until 11 am. I was initially ok with that but finished eating what o wanted to eat by like 1140. I didn't want to wait. The service was good, restaurant and restrooms very clean, food came out right away. Perhaps it was just a bad day. I likely would not return for brunch but would probably try to visit if in the area for lunch or dinner.

Really like the atmosphere with the Jamaican music playing, spacious, clean and a nice small bar…read more Service is great, attentive and prompt. The drinks are artfully presented and strong! Anything on the menu that's not chicken is pricey (close to $30 which is too much in my opinion). The food is just OK. The brown stew chick3n is almost flavorless. The jerk chicken is very spicy and decent. The curry Chicken is also OK. The portion size is also generous.

I am in town for a job interview and I was looking for someplace nearby with a great Yelp rating…read more(3.5+) that was open. I had Mexican on the way down so I wasn't running in the mood for it tonight. But I could not find a place within about a 20 minute drive that had a great Yelp rating and was open on Monday night. There's plenty of stuff in the area, but a lot of it was suspiciously closed on Monday night. This place was just across the street from my hotel so I went in and I ordered chips and salsa to start, and then pork belly tacos. The chips and salsa were fantastic! Probably some of the best mild salsa I've ever had. The spicy salsa was tasty as well, but just a little bit beyond my heat range. I was very happy with the start to the meal, but once the pork belly tacos came out, I was in heaven. These are the best tacos I've ever had, and I've eaten a lots of tacos, and the best pork belly I've ever had. It was perfectly cooked and perfectly seasoned. I ate it so fast that when it's finished, I thought a severe sense of disappointment that there wasn't more. The wait staff was great as well! The job I'm interviewing for is remote and I kind of hope I get it even more so that I can come down here and explore the rest of the menu.
