I had the pleasure of trying @comfortzonem2; a restaurant owned by two African American sisters. They've been on my bucket list and I finally got to mark them as visited ! Y'all know if I'm eating dessert I like to eat my dessert first so I tried the bread pudding. I will be honest with you I've never been a bread pudding person but baby when I tell you the bread pudding was delicious and crisped just right on the ends I tried the salmon cake with the kale slaw. The kale slaw put it on the map and set it apart from any other salmon cake I've had. Then you know that me being from atlanta and roots in south Ga I had to try the ho-cake bbq pork sandwich. Baby when I tell you that ho-cake was cooked to a golden brown perfection and the bbq was slap ya thigh tender this is definitely a must try no matter what you're ordering this needs to be in your order to. Last but not least the honey-lemon pepper chicken sandwich was finger licking good. It's not one to eat while driving but if you've ever wanted honey-lemon pepper wings on a warm browned bun it is a delicious twist and finger licking good and comes with some irresistible sweet potato cubed fries.

I love comfort zone and have recommended it to so many people. I really love their salmon cakes and grits, but also love their lemon pepper mild cauliflower. I also love the sides I've had (perhaps all of them?). Really you can not go wrong and they are super accommodating where possible. They also do family style meals for the holidays. If you're in EAV I highly recommend stopping by and trying them out. Or if further out, they are on most of the delivery platforms!

Really enjoyed this place!! I had the cauliflower bowl with macaroni and Brussels sprouts. Also added yellow rice on the side. This was a LOT of food. I didn't eat it in one sting but certainly enjoyed it! Plan to come back. The ordering process was easy and straightforward. Staff was friendly. Food hall looks different due to COVID but check it out.

I had the salmon cake and it was AMAZING. Good price for the size. The cake itself was a good texture, and had a nice zesty taste to it!

Had the salmon cake. Great taste and texture. Wonderful little zest to it as well! Will definitely be back.

Decided to break my long Yelp silence just for this! We let our 4 year old daughter choose what she wanted for dinner, and she said macaroni and cheese (shocker). I remembered seeing Comfort Zone featured by a local Instagrammer and decided to give it a shot. Man oh man, I am SO glad we did. We ordered two sides of macaroni for the girls, a BBQ pork bowl, salmon cake salad, and a BBQ sandwich for the next day. Everything was insane. I loved the kale salad that the salmon cakes were served on. It was super fresh, and the kale was treated right: not too tough, but not drowning in dressing, either. The girls crushed their macaroni, but the real show-stopper was the candies yams. Our one year old literally climbed on top of the dinner table for more!! We will definitely be repeat customers!!

Fried Cabbage Brussel Sprouts Hot Honey Chicken

The food was great. I got the honey fried chicken with Brussels sprouts and cabbage with pulled pork (recommended by the woman working there). The only downfall is that the meal was pretty pricey.. $17 for lunch is a little steep so I decided to split it into two meals to make it more wallet friendly. Make sure you get the homemade ranch style sauce. It was incredible and I poured it all over the meal.

That said, the aesthetic feels less Buckingham Palace and more whimsical London antique shop -- charming & eclectic. I ordered the blueberry lavender matcha and a breakfast plate. The menu names were definitely on brand, but not quite catchy enough for me to remember them later. Both were solid, though, and hit the spot. Service was a highlight. The cashier really leaned into the accent and took the time to thoroughly explain the menu, which made the whole experience feel more immersive and welcoming. Parking was easy on an early weekday afternoon -- always a win. The space works well for small parties, but be prepared: tables are small and seating is close together. One tip: avoid sitting upstairs in Eden. It's noticeably warmer than the rest of the restaurant, and you'll likely leave smelling like breakfast. Overall, a fun, themed spot with great service. But I don't think I'll be back.

There's a steady traffic of people going in and out. The staff are welcoming and pleasant. I got an iced honey lavender latte with oat milk and slice of the pistachio cardamom cake. The latte was ok but the cake was phenomenal. The latte had a decent flavor but it wasn't strong. Plus it tasted very grainy and milk-heavy, overpowering the coffee. My slice of cake was so moist and delicious without being too sweet. It was perfect. I'd definitely come back again more so for the desserts than the coffee. I sat at the counter cuz I was flying solo and had nice conversations with those next to me. The way the entire building is decorated is completely eye candy and as satisfying as the food. If you like crazy loopy, different kind of stuff. There's a specific coffee shop and small gift shop in the back with social & environmental conscious products. Even have a film development drop off that I guess locals take advantage of cuz where do you go for that anymore other than some kind of chain pharmacy?. I took pictures for my posting but also for myself to consider coming back and shopping another time. Several of the magnets and signs I would love to own. The food is plentiful and flavorful. I had the daily special of Georgia fresh shrimp sauteed on top of homemade sourdough that had a little bit of a French toast crispy to it, topped with roasted tomatoes and spinach and thin crispy onions that were well seasoned. Most the time for lunch you just hope for something that taste good and this was beyond my wildest dreams of what I was going to eat for lunch today. And it was only $10. The burgers, the fried chicken, the fried shrimp, everything was looking so yummy. I totally have to come back. I don't think we knew what we were getting ourselves into, but I'm glad we made the decision to come here. Homegrown provides great food and coffee with indoor and outdoor seating great art and a "cozy" (read: crowded) feel. Food: 5/5 The food here was amazing. I just got the standard breakfast with eggs, bacon, toast, and orange juice but those around me had other meals like scrambles and omelettes that smelled amazing. I'm also a big fan of grits was able to taste some from my friend's plate. Service: 4/5 In terms of the food service, our server was extremely nice, but a couple of people in my party had things wrong with their order. We did have a large group though, so I won't put too much stock into that. Ambience: 4/5 When I say this place is crowded, I mean this place is crowded. I won't hold that against them, it's really a testament to how popular their restaurant is with that said, I really do wish they had more seating available. We went during the tail end of the summer, so it was extremely hot outside and eating breakfast out. The wait for a table was well over 30 minutes, so there was no way we were going to also eat our food outside. It was just not feasible without heat stroke. For context we live in the Pacific Northwest. What made up for this was the coffee shop that was connected to the building in the back that served amazing iced coffee to cool us down. Conclusion All in all, I give this place a solid, 4 out of 5 would recommend. Just be prepared to wait if you have more than three people in your party, and try to come early :-)
