This shop was recommended by a coworker as a fair and reasonable shop that does good work. The engine on my 2012 Subaru blew a rod. The shop initially said it was not likely worth replacing. Rob looked into it further. Found a few options. Provided a detailed invoice and answered a lot of questions. The shop was not only efficient and timely in replacing the engine but I felt they were honest and fair. The mechanic that worked on the car shared his thoughts and concerns on pick up and a couple days later helped us with a belt that was acting up. The problem is they never fixed anything, went here a month or two ago and they spent what they told me 10 hours plus in attempt to figure out one Check engine code, which they charged me in full. I dropped it off twice because the first time they told me it was fixed then not even 20 minutes driving it, it came back on. I dropped it back off the second time and they did more work. They told me they didn't know what was wrong after diagnosing it fully 3 times? They said they would need to diagnose more for them to eventually see if they can figure out what's wrong but they didn't know how much it would cost. Ended up with a my new tires being scratched up, scratch's on the car, and more than $1,600 on parts and labor to get nothing fixed. Refused to reimburse me. Wouldn't recommend them to anyone. read more

If you have a Lexus or Toyota, take it to this place! My Lexus was due for a "60k" service which is pretty much a "glorified oil change". The dealer wanted to charge $1,280 for an oil change, brake flush, spark plugs, cabin filter, engine filter, key fob battery replacement and an "inspection" I have the "F Sport" model and the dealer wanted to change the spark plugs for "ignition warranty". The standard Lexus model has the same part number for spark plugs and has the same engine and calls for the spark plugs to replaced at 120k. It simply did not make sense..... I vouched not to get the spark plugs done. So with the oil change, and brake flush, filters and battery for fob the cost was $263 dollars! I was pretty happy. This shop will do a standard inspection no matter what, and they found everything was in tip top shape other than the the rear brake pads and rotors. So for about $525 I got the rear brakes and rotors done. Now, I could have done it myself.. but, with this model there is an automatic parking brake that engages when the car is parked. This takes a special electronic tool to disengage to replace the rear pads. I didn't want to deal with it and left it to the experts. In the end, I feel really happy and have peace of mind knowing the car is in great shape. Jon has worked for the Lexus dealership and has 30 years experience working with Lexus/ Toyota vehicles. This has been my go to place for years, and while I sometimes felt it was a little pricey it was definitely worth it for the level of service. Cut to my most recent visit where I was utterly disappointed. I had several warning lights remaining on recently and decided to take it in. After holding onto my car for three days I picked it up to find that they hadn't physically done anything. My somewhat hefty bill is full of recommendations of issues I need to fix and a recommendation to take it to a dealership. Getting things fixed is literally why I brought it in. These seemed to be standard maintenance issues that are part of their services. When I made the appointment and later when I dropped it off no one mentioned that the problems might be something they couldn't help with. I feel like it was a waste of time, and money, to have brought it here. Maybe management has changed, but it didn't feel like the J&S I used to know. Went here based on Yelp reviews, and I'm so glad I did. I went in needing an oil change, thinking I needed brake pads, and with something wrong with my shifter. I also said I thought I might need a tire rotation because it had been a while. They easily could have replaced my brake pads unnecessarily, taken apart my whole shifter console, and more... but they were totally honest, telling me I didn't need most of those things, explaining why, and not even charging me for checking it out. If you have anything other than a Toyota or a Lexus, get rid of it, buy one of those two cars and make this garage your vehicle's home away from home. Seriously, if you haven't had the pleasure of service here, you've not had service. They are knowledgeable, very fairly priced and HONEST! Like a patient who thinks they're circling the drain because of what they learned on Dr. Google, I've gone in worried about the worst case scenario only to find that it was a simple problem with a simple fix that was far less expensive. This is why if they ever told me that my car needed a huge amount of work, I would believe them 100%. I should have written them a review long before now and I just had an experience with them that made me ashamed of my failure to do so. Because this consistent excellent care should be praised. I dropped my car off because of the check engine light being on. They had previously addressed it, but the warning continued to fire. They had to hang on to my car for a while. Jon (the owner) did A LOT of digging and research, contacting Lexus, reading about cars from my year and even reaching out to his high school shop teacher (who had worked for decades on Lexus and Toyotas) to run my car's problem by him. WHO DOES THAT? And how did I know all this was happening? Because either he or Stephanie at the front routinely sent me updates. They know that my work schedule is bananas, so they accommodated by updates via email or text so that I didn't have to return a missed call. And once the problem had been fixed, I got a message from Stephanie that I could pick it up and that --oh, by the way -- Jon noticed that it was about due for a DEQ check, so he just took care of it while he was out with the car. Are you for real? Now, I share this because I was shooketh. I don't want some entitled so-and-so going to my garage and demanding they run this errand for you. This was WAY above and beyond the call of duty. So, if you have any hesitations about making this your garage, don't. If you feel like you need to do more research, save yourself the carpal tunnel and trust me and the many other people singing their praises. P.S. If you're taking your car to the dealership for routine maintenance and you are outside of your warranty, you are doing yourself a disservice. I am on attempt #3 to get my truck fixed here. EVAP leak engine light code. Got the evap vent solenoid replaced on the first go around. Engine light came back. The second go-around my battery was too old and coolant too warm to run the test. I was a bit more relieved that they put in $20 bucks of gas, and although they had my truck all day, they didn't charge me anything at all when i picked it up. Hopefully, now that i have a 1/2 tank of gas and a new battery, i can get the issue figured out. Feeling optomistic today. read more
