This time, Jessica did the microdermabrasion and WOW, did she do an outstanding job or what! Talk about attention to detail.I was blown away with how my skin felt so smooth after the treatment. No redness, no soreness, nothing. It's Day 3 and my skin is still glowing! I cannot wait to return for my next appointment. Some of the small, thoughtful touches that made the spa special--like being offered hot tea--are gone. Using the locker rooms to store your belongings and freshen up before you leave is no longer an option either. Instead, you're given a basket and required to awkwardly carry all of your personal belongings with you throughout the visit. One of the biggest disappointments was how they handled our group's experience. While some of us were receiving massages and facials, they had booked a private steam and sauna appointment at the same time. Because of this, one member of our party was demanded to leave the spa in her robe and told she could either wait in the public waiting area or leave the building entirely. They claimed they had nowhere for her to relax while waiting for her next service. I find this completely inappropriate for a spa setting. A guest should never be put in a position where they have to leave in a robe and slippers or redress entirely because of poor scheduling. We had scheduled extra time at the end of our day for steam and sauna, specifically so we could access the locker rooms, yet the way the scheduling was handled made it feel like we were being rushed in and out with no opportunity to truly relax. Had we known, we would have happily scheduled additional time in between services to ensure our entire party could enjoy the spa together without being pushed out. Udånder did acknowledge this was an oversight on their part, but it was a disappointing experience nonetheless. On a positive note, the aesthetician, was outstanding--a true expert in her craft, and I highly recommend her (I wish I could remember her name) . However, if you visit, just know that the value of the overall experience isn't what it used to be. Expect to feel rushed, with no real place to transition in between services. Sadly, the thoughtful, relaxing atmosphere that once made Udånder so special just isn't there for me anymore.

In the before times, public speaking was very much a part of my wheelhouse, and Ioved to get to do it. After a rough two years, I was doubting my every word as I prepared to give my speech. I decided I needed the confidence boost provided by hair and makeup. I made an appointment at Drybar, and then directly after at Cos Bar. The darling Natasha did my makeup, and she talked to me the whole time so I would feel comfortable and relaxed leading up to my speech. She was absolutely darling. My makeup looked so good, and I love the products she recommended. The best thing: if you spent $200 or more, you got a free spring samples kit. The samples are incredible and easily valued at well over $200. I left for a work trip the day after, and packing was so fun because I had all these lovely little sample sizes. I will be a customer forever. And I will come here whenever I need my makeup with a side of pep talk and friendly chit chat.
