Tired AF after working a 16 hour shift, the last thing I wanted to deal with was car problems. Life had other plans. While driving home all of the sudden all the warning lights come on my dash. You would have thought the car was about to blow up! I took my Civic to my local Honda dealer as I have always done. They diagnosed the issue and told me my engine harness needed to be replaced. I about lost it when they said it would be $3000. My car was not drivable, but I just couldn't hand over three thousand of my hard earned dollars. Luckily, I had access to a loaner vehicle in my family, so I had time to search for an alternative repair shop. I put the word out and a friend referred me to this shop. It is about an hour, some distance from my home, but I decided to give them a shot. I am sure glad I did! I was impressed from the moment I walked into the shop. I was warmly greeted by Sheila and I took notice of the cleanliness of not only the customer area but repair area too! Shelia discussed my concerns and promised to have a diagnosis by the end of the day. I was pleasantly surprised when I learned the repairs could be done for a fraction of what I was originally quoted. A&F Mechanic was able to resolve my original concern plus two others I asked them to look at. All this at less than 1/3 of what the dealer quoted for one problem. Sure cost is important, especially in this economy, but so is courtesy and trustworthiness. A&F Mechanic has all these and more. DO NOT COME HERE. Unless you want to get ripped off. They ran me a diagnosis which i was charged over 100 for. Quoted my repair to over 5k! A pricey decision so I went to my local dealership itself and they quoted me at 1.9k for repairs! They tried to overcharge me since i was desperate but didn't jump into it and glad i got a second diagnosis from my truck dealership Chevrolet. My Acura a/c was not working and blowing hot air. I'm new to this area so I didn't know where to go for service. I searched on yelp and online and found here. I had a day off so I called and was able to come in for them to diagnose my car. I walked in and was greeted by Ashley and Sheila- they were so nice and friendly. The following day, Ashley called me with the diagnostic results and quote me. She was not pushy at all to try to get me to do it. I asked to call her back so I can confirm with my husband. Anyways, I agreed for them to do the work. It took about a day and a half to rebuild the a/c compressor . I came to pick my car up. Again, Ashley, Sheila and myself just spark a conversation like we knew each other so long. Anyways, my car now is blasting freezing cold air! I'm so happy that I got cold air since it's so hot here in the valley vs the Bay Area. Also, there's a warranty for it (2 years or 24k miles)! read more

I'm very impressed with the quality of service from Auto & Fleet Mechanic. Bob & Mike bent over backward to accommodate my truck repairs. My head gasket originally needed to be replaced and so I took it to Auto & Fleet to fix it. On my way home from picking my truck up the "check engine" light popped back on. So, I took it back into Auto & Fleet and they split the diagnostic fee and then promptly fixed the EGR Solinoid & Idle Air Control Valve. After picking my truck up the second time, the check engine light popped back on. So, Bob drove clear across town to pick up my truck and then fixed it for free and drove it back across town for me. Auto & Fleet was very professional and gave accurate timelines and accurate price quotes. I'm very impressed with the quality of customer service even though they had to take a look at my truck three times to completely fix the problem. I highly recommend Auto & Fleet to anyone. Over priced ! Horrible customer service and a long wait time for repairs . I was quoted a minimum of 860$ to fix a power steering on a focus . Went to Car Pretty and had the work done in one day for 400 . Not to mention I was a returning customer who also overpaid for a fuel pump last year . Get a second opinion ! read more

This man would not make good on his work . After having $1,400 dollars of timing belt and water pump done . Had nothing but problems when we returned to see if he would fix it under warranty he said he would do labor for free but we needed to pay him another $700-$800 dollars . So few mechanics in this area (oddly), but Bob at Fleet Mechanics is a good one! I'm fairly picky about who I take my car too (as we all should be). I lived in Stockton for a long time and had a lot of faith and trust in Convenient Car Care. Moving to Modesto meant finding someone new...a daunting task. First time out, with Car Tech Synergy was a HUGE bust (never going back there)! Then I found Bob at Fleet Mechanic...oddly just down the road from my work. Bob is not only very friendly but extremely knowledgeable. He was unable to find the solution to my problem, but to be fair...my car has a random issue that is not being reported by the computer and only present from a cold start. It'll take sometime to figure out...but Bob is willing to take that time (so long as my wallet agrees), and that's what I like. He's not just making up solutions to try and take my money, he's giving honest and relevant feedback and treating my car as though it were a patient and not a piece rolling....well, you know. He genuinely cares about me and my car and I appreciate that more than anything else. Also, his rates are very competitive (as of this post, $95/hr). Well worth the money for the experience. 80 miles from home, I was driving my F250 down hwy99 and it died.... searched Yelp and found Auto and Fleet Mechanic. Called and let them know I was stranded if I couldn't get the truck fixed right away.Had it towed to the shop so they could look at it right away. True to their word..... truck was repaired and back on the road by 5:30 the same day. Bob also was able to correct a problem other places couldn't figure out! But, when I went to that appt. he did not even look at the car. He wants me to pay. When I talk to him on the phone before I make an appt. he said that he will do a complimentary check on it. Absolutely the worst Customer Service I've ever experienced. I took my car in to Auto & Fleet Mechanic on 03/19/21 to have them diagnose why my check engine light was on and was told multiple codes pulled and all were related to the timing chain. After inspection the technician confirmed the timing chain alignment was incorrect and the variable valve timing sprockets were worn and sticking and recommended replacing the timing chain, sprockets and necessary seals and gaskets. I agreed to have the recommended work done and was charged $4422.02. A few days after having the recommended work done I noticed my car was not running as it should be and a noise coming from under the hood and was told to bring my vehicle in to Auto & Fleet Mechanic which was done and on 04/19/2021 Auto & Fleet Mechanic inspected and test drove my car and informed me multiple codes pulled related to the camshaft actuator and recommended replacing the timing chain actuator and shim which I agreed to. After the recommended work was complete i picked up my car and was driving down the freeway with my Daughter and 6 month old grandson when i heard a loud explosion and saw flames shooting up above the back of my car burst so I pulled over quickly to the center divider to get my family out of the car and into safety . The next day I called Auto & Fleet Mechanic and was asked to bring the car in so I had had my car towed to the shop only for it to sit there through the weekend then was told by Auto & Fleet Mechanic there was nothing they could do for me which was completely false and showed no disregard that their shitty and unprofessional work left me without a vehicle and put not only mine but both my Daughter and Grandsons lives in danger. I highly recommend to have your vehicle repaired by anyone other than Auto & Fleet Mechanic who in my opinion should not even be in business as they practice unethical and just down right wrong business procedures. If they were any kind of Mechanics they would of been able to properly diagnose and repair the noise I asked them to inspect multiple times. read more

When I brought my older car in to AFM, I was worried if anyone could fix it. Owners Bob & Judi were wonderful. They appreciated that my car is important to me, researched ways to fix her carburetor, gave me a detailed estimate, and completed the work on schedule. When an issue arose during the repairs, Bob called me to discuss the options. I also liked the fact that I was treated with courtesy and respect throughout the process, and all questions I had were answered in ways I could understand. I heard about shop from Google and there was close to 60 positive remarks .At that point the reviews sound like this is the place to go and have work done. However anyplace of work needs to have a few poor reviews .... so I guess Bob told 60 of his friends to write only positive reviews. Anyway back to my car and what needed to be done. The car was involved in a front end accident and everything was smashed up due to the impact. My insurance company gave me Auto and fleet as a choice for work to be done. After the diagnostic I was quoted $400.00 and this comment "diagnosed ac concern of not working from accident. Found AC suction hose needs to be replaced. " In turn Triple AAA stated based on available information wear and tear on hose caused ac to break not accident. " So I had to pay out of my own pocket for second opinion even though my Ac always worked .. anybody who ever owned Nissan card they are known for their AC working great. I then took it to Modesto Meineke ( bangs road Modesto ) and they fixed they FIXED the car with no problems of wear an tear on the AC suction hose for $78.00 and 2lbs of Freon. My gut tells me to watch out for who insurance companies that do business with local mechanics. As you know insurance companies and local mechanics are in this make a profit.
