    Daughter's birthday cake
    Amanda S.

This is my favorite cheesecake place. Small business located in a strip mall. The lady that owns it is really nice just really matter of fact. She always help me find whatever my kids dreams up, Or i can bring in whatever I want to be put on the cake! She has been making cakes for my family for 20 years! She made my sister and my wedding cakes! I stop in to grab a cheesecake from time to time. I order all my kiddos birthday cakes from there. She is always good at improving whatever myself or my kids decide the want the cake to be!

    What I received.

Horribly rude and sub-par service! Sent the specific picture I wanted on a cake almost two weeks before pickup and was told that it was no problem-when we received the cake, they had substituted another picture. The reason? They just figured as long as the character was the same, it didn't matter. We decided to wait to post a negative review in hopes that the taste would be so great that it would balance out the decoration, but the cake tasted OK-not anything super great-by using a different picture, they chose to accent with black/navy blue frosting which altered the taste. They did give us the cake for no charge. Overall, this was a very disappointing experience and we won't use them ever again.

My girls birthday on Saturday. Beautiful cake as always!

We were immediately greeted upon entry, and pleasantly surprised to find a fair amount of choices left! As we looked over our choices, the employee offered a sample of their donut holes as a first time visitor! The donut holes were nice. Fluffy and nice, not overly sweet. We ordered a glazed persian, glazed crueller and a cotton candy. My daughter didnt care for the cotton candy topping, but no points loss since it is preference issue. It was a little toooo sugary for us. Husband reports French crueller was really good, well made and good flavor. Persian was a bit too sweet for him. I ordered a sugar twist to enjoy later, imagining it to be soft and fluffy like the donut hole. We will be bringing the rest of our kiddos here to check it out in the future!

Their donuts are beautifully made, and I decided to try the doughsant ($4.25). Its shape reminded me of Parlor's version, though I found it not flaky enough, especially at that price point. The location is easy to access, with plenty of parking. It's almost a standalone building, except for one neighboring business. Overall, a nice stop if you're exploring the local donut scene!

If you've ever…read moreread any of my reviews, you know dessert is my favorite, so facing a birthday without being able to have cake or cookies as a result of needing to avoid dairy and wheat was daunting to say the least. Enter Chubby Bunny, a bakery catering to those with food challenges. What I love about this place is that they aren't just trying to make a version of something you've already had that might taste sort of like it, they're creating their own deliciousness and unique recipes that hold their own against any sweet I've had. The store itself is quaint and cute in the heart of downtown Hamilton. Inside, I was met with SO many options of things to try. I settled on a strawberry frosted chocolate brownie (incredibly decadent and the icing is so creamy and just sweet enough without being overly so), iced sugar cookie (dense and shortbread like, just the way I like it) and a salted chocolate chip cookie (probably my least favorite, but still a quality cookie). The staff is very friendly and eager to explain anything you need to know about ingredients or potential allergens. They also make custom cakes and cookies!

Looking at their display of baked goods was mouthwatering. I decided on the chocolate raspberry cupcake. The chocolate cupcake was very rich, decadent, and moist. I was surprised by the hint of raspberry filling on the inside but taking a bite and getting a taste of the chocolate cupcake, icing, and raspberry on top all at once was well blended and a definite treat for my senses. I would not have guessed it was vegan. My son picked the chocolate chip cookie and the chocolate chip cookie sandwich. He said he enjoyed both. I will be back to try other delectable treats.

The service is really good. Seated promptly, waters come out promptly, minor order modifications handled easily. We have really enjoyed the variety of food. We find the drinks particularly reasonably priced and the cocktails are good. We really like the blueberry one. The space is sunny and open. I forget our servers name, but the manager also came by to check on us and even got my food boxed. We got a burger and the chicken katsu and of course the famous biscuits to start. The biscuits were very good but also a bit buttery greasy for our taste. One was enough (we split it). I did take the rest home and add some eggs to it for breakfast which was good! The burger was pretty good. Nice and salty. Not dripping with grease. Soft bun! The fries were decent but not my preferred style. I like fresh cut and these were kind of a shoestring fry. The chicken was decent but a pretty small portion that left my fiancé hungry. He said the side with it was just ok. We got cocktails that I can't recall but they were pretty good. We would go back and try some other things. Probably on a less busy day earlier in the week.
