I've had a lot of cupcakes in my day, and I can say with confidence these are some of the best I've had. The cake has the perfect amount of moisture and the ratio of icing to cake is ideal. Speaking of the icing, no matter the flavor, I found the sweetness level to be great rather than having an overbearing taste of sugar. I love all of the filled cupcakes too, especially the cookie dough and cake batter! They have options that are flourless and vegan too. Even these don't compromise on taste. Having moved from Chicago, I was excited to see a local Mollys cupcake! It's located at Liberty Center with plenty of free parking in nearby lots; the closer street parking is metered. The interior is whimsical and welcoming with swing seating and an assortment of board games. Cupcakes are $3-4 each and overall worth it. With a wide assortment of cupcakes and limited cheesecakes selection, it's easy to find a few favorites. Would recommend the Peach Cobbler & Crème Brûlée; not too sweet and moist. For the price and the fame, we expected something that was different that the normal cupcake you can get from Kroger. How about...........CUPCAKES?!?!? Seeming to have grown to a bit of a craze, I've seen a lot of cupcake places pop up over the last few years. Many of which I can say didn't last very long. But, I'm a sweets guy will very little self control in that department. So, when I see one I want to try it. Sadly, I have been let down about 50% of the time. For whatever reason, they just don't get it right. Molly get's it right! I've been here a few times now and I've tried at least a half dozen different cakes. My favorite, by far, is the Peach Cobbler cupcake. Absolutely phenomenal. The cake - Moist (the only allowable context to use this word) and tasty. Not dry, hard/dense or tasteless. Molly's right on with this one. The frosting/topping - Sweet and creamy and with some, quite creative. Molly's is a nice little shop. There are some tables and areas to eat your treats on the spot or take them home to enjoy. Or..... if you are of little self control - Have one, or two, there and then eat the rest at home in private shame/enjoyment. Would I go back? Yes I would and I've been a few times now. One small footnote with a bright side. I love carrot cake. "Love" like the way a mother loves her children, "love". On my last visit I bought one of their Carrot Cake Cupcakes. Also, I believe I've had one before. But on this visit, something was wrong with the cake. I couldn't eat it. In a non-threatening and non-Karen way, I quietly brought it up to one of the ladies behind the counter. She could not have been more accommodating and asked if I'd like one to replace it. I opted not to, but that was only a small demonstration of self control on my part. The point is, she handled it like a champ and offered to make it right. Which is why Molly's will still have my business. Note - If you're one of those people who gets joy out of making a scene when something isn't just right or doesn't go your way, stay home. You don't need to be out in the wild tearing people down. Handle it like a human being. Handle it as if you would want to be handled if it was the other way around. read more

I typically don't even care for cake and this cupcake was AMAZING! I stopped in while walking around Liberty Center and picked up a couple of cupcakes for myself and my husband. My husband thoroughly enjoyed his carrot cake cupcake. I tried the peanut butter cupcake and it was incredible. The actual cake itself was so moist. Then it was covered with a layer of chocolate and peanut butter topping. The crowning jewel that made it over the top delicious was the peanut butter filling. Highly recommend!! read more

And the place is super inviting. Very cool looking store. Very unique cupcake offering. I got 2 cupcakes, one for me and one for my BFF. I have had a lot of cupcakes over the years and I have to say these are super soft and amazingly yummy. I see the offer coffee as well. I can't say enough about how good these cupcakes are. I would gladly come here than any chain type cupcake place or even the local grocery stores. These are just so moist and tasty. Ecstatic that there is a Molly's Cupcakes in the greater Cincinnati area (previously I was always going to the one in Chicago when I was visiting family)! Cupcakes are usually between $3-4, and so full of delicious sweet flavor and goodness. I am a huge fan of the peach cobbler cupcake (which has won Cupcake wars on foodnetwork), and have tried the maple bacon (winter seasonal cupcake), s'mores, and creme brulee. I love the ones with lots of frosting, and most cupcakes tend to have extra frosting or filling in the middle depending on the flavor. There is also a create your own cupcake option which I may have to try out next time. The place is cute with swings, friendly staff and extra sprinkles if needed. I've had Molly's cupcakes twice. I eat pretty healthy but work in a treat snack occasionally. I was super excited for the blueberry cheesecake cupcake but after 1 bite, deemed it not worthy of the calories and gave the rest to my daughter, the cupcake queen. My daughter was also not blown away by the cupcake. I had Molly's again last week and tried the cookie dough cupcake and the Samoa. The Samoa was good but seemed to have too much "junk" on it, maybe eliminating an ingredient or two would make it better. With that said, the Samoa cupcake was definitely worth the calories and worth finishing. I really loved the cookie dough inside of the cookie dough cupcake. Overall, Cincy has great cupcake places and for me, this is not considered one of my favorites. Maybe more true buttercream cupcakes would bring me back. I had to see what all the hype was about. To be honest, these cupcakes left more to be desired. I truly wasn't impressed and do not understand the hype. The shop is super cute and they give good customer service but I wasn't wowed. The cupcakes are very moist which is a plus but they lack in flavor. I wanted more when I bit into certain flavors. I stopped in on a Saturday afternoon. It wasn't overly crowded. There was one person in line in front of me and then some people came in after me. The line moved fast. I ordered a 6 pack which I picked Strawberry Cheesecake, (2) Cake Batter, Red Velvet, Peach Cobbler and S'more. I wasn't really impressed by any of the flavors. They all were just ok. I wanted more of a burst of flavor from each. The best one was the Strawberry Cheesecake and the least favorite was S'more. The graham cracker cake for the S'more was a little odd tasting. I didn't like it. It also didn't flow cohesively as a "S'more" when you bite into the entire cupcake. You could taste each element separately but it didn't work together as a whole. Also, the Peach Cobbler was the Season Finale cupcake on Cupcake Wars. I wasn't impressed at all. It just tasted like plain vanilla cupcake with a seasoned peach on top. It was entirely too much buttercream on top. I didn't like it. The Red Velvet was ok and Red Velvet is my favorite flavor but again I wasn't wowed. I thought the cake batter would be good but it was ok. I got 2 for my daughters but neither one of them liked it. They are 1 and 4. What kid doesn't like cake batter? Lol! We also ordered two cookies which were a chocolate chip and oatmeal cookie. They weren't bad but I didn't think they were anything special. My husband loved the oatmeal. So my girlfriend really loves cupcakes, and this place have gotten rave reviews and we were super excited to try it, so we went out of our way to go check it out and were... Pretty unimpressed. unfortunately the peach cobbler cupcake, which is one of her favorite flavors in general and something that she really wanted to try here really wasn't that impressive, the peach flavor was there, and the cupcake was very moist, but it was not very sweet and the cobbler flavor wasn't really there at all. The chocolate cupcake almost taste like dark chocolate with some bitterness, which I was a fan of, her and her son? Not so much. I absolutely love the creme brulee cupcake, but not the icing in the middle of the filling for the cupcake, just the creme brulee top in the little bit of fruit that accompanied it, unfortunately that was kind of the theme for this place. They would hit on one aspect, and completely miss one two or three of the others in the cupcake. Maybe it's growing pains, but considering that this is an expansion from a previous location I'm betting that these are formula differences in my tastes and desires. I would be down to try them again, but definitely not going out of my way to do so read more
