HELLO ALL!!!!! PLEASE READ BEFORE HIRING THIS COMPANY!!!! On 6/28/2023 at 7:40 am I arrived home from work to J Bonin Tree Services LLC cutting down some of my neighbors trees, that's when I noticed the workers had their tolls laying on my lawn, I asked them nicely to please remove them and stay off the grass as the grass was only 3 weeks old, they removed the tools and I went on my way, shortly after his crew suffered a hydrolic line spill, unknown to me some of this fluid wound up on my newly planted grass, the crew never knocked on my door to inform me, while watering my lawn on 6/30/2023 I noticed the oil spill and burnt grass, I immediately contacted J Bonin Tree Services LLC, I began to speak with their secretary who was trying to explain to me they were not responsible because I signed a contract, I then explained to her I was the neighbor and yes they are responsible for the damage to my grass as they had no permissions from me. This is when a man jumped on the line addressing himself as Jack Bonin, owner of the Company, he then began to say and I quote " I will come over there and fuck up your plants and burn down your house" then proceeded to hang up on me. At this point I have contacted my local authorities Sturbridge, MA Police, an officer arrived took my statement and said he would speak with Mr. Bonin and what is it I want from this? I told the officer he could start with an apology and then we could discuss repairs. Mr. Bonin told authorities he had nothing to say to me and that I could bring him to court if he wanted me to pay, this is all over a 4'×5' section of grass his crew killed with their oil spill. So as it stands I will go to the court house on next available day 7/3/2023 and file said appropriate paperwork and also file a complaint to Mr. Bonin's threat to burn my house down, so if you don't want any problems with this company or your neighbors I would not hire this Company , ​ read more

I can only speak for my own experience but J Bonin Tree Service did a complete and thorough job trimming large Oak trees on my property. They came and gave me an estimate of the cost and what the job would entail explaining to me that removing more than 20% of any one tree could damage it. They came on schedule and completed the job they were hired to do. I noticed some branches over my garage and asked if they could also remove those and they obliged. We hired J. Bonin Tree Services to cut down a birch tree that we were worried would split and take down our wires or land on our roof. They provided a quote and a time frame to complete the job. They called in advance to confirm the day they would arrive, then arrived on time and proceeded to take down our tree with the utmost precision and professionalism. Jonathan knew exactly how he wanted to go about cutting the multiple trunks and ran his saw from the bucket truck, his crane operator worked in cooperation and it seemed there wasn't a wasted move. The rest of the crew cut the limbs and trunks to size, chipped up the small stuff and stacked what we wanted to convert to firewood right where we asked. Jonathan provided excellent customer service when I was looking for estimates on two big oak trees to be removed from my property. He came out the same day to offer a quote and was astounded when I told him what other companies charged. He recently purchased a newer bucket truck which enabled him to get higher up (I guess), but it proved a necessity and a time saver for our job. He provided plywood to drive the truck across grass that half sat on our neighbor's property, and out of his own pocket he expensed good grass seed and loam to help repair the damage that was done from the tire tracks. They would do fine with a small job you would like them. I would hire them for small jobs. Like 1-2 trees and 1-2 stumps clear cut that you are going to do. They are really nice. Do not hire for more than this they do not own big enough equipment for anything more they have to rent. I hired them for the day which included 150 inches of stump grinding of the trees they cut clearly on his ad. That did not happen only two little ones maybe 36 inches at most got completely done. The rest 3-4 inches above ground just just a chain saw. Maybe my misunderstanding but just read his ad doesn't say 3-4 inches above ground and the website says 8-10 inches above ground. Then they start to say things like I here from 9-5 like something special. Then came back the next day which was part of the deal to do stumps. Just says I will cut them with chain saw, well they are still 3 inches above ground. I said well bucket truck was not here 8 hours and they throw in "travel time" stuff, I am like wow. They did not get everything agreed upon which was ok fine a lot to do but the final details were not done and it was clear he was thinking he was doing me a massive favor. Furthermore they are not really set up to take the wood away not enough of a big trailer for this. I paid them what was agreed upon and two days later I asked for $125 back on a $1800 job which I felt was fair giving the misunderstanding but was not willing to work with me. They were super nice they cleaned up ahead of time branches down. Finishing up the job with stumps is the reason for a 1 star review. We had also talked about cutting the pieces into 16 inch pieces he said verbally I will use my best judgment this could have been a miss understanding, but a tree guy that doesn't take fire wood ? Which was fine I have people to take but not massive trees that would require a machine and/or massive chain saw to cut. I actually spoke with and met the owner at a gas and he was incredibly rude. He parked his truck right in front of the entrance to the gas station at the side blocking everyone else who was trying to get in. And when I asked the attended about it he heard me and jumped in and saying those people can go around, f*** them. Then he calls me a b**** because I said a business owner should not behave that way. Definitely find another business, there's no need to support someone who doesn't care about others and behaves that way. read more
