This was the first time that I had the pleasure of utilizing Mr. Brack's talents. I'm new in town and am in the process of making some much needed repairs to my family's residence here. Because I'm situated in a confusing area according to Google's maps, I've put off attempting to contact anyone about things that I thought I could do myself. During my attempt at updating the thermostats, I had one of them that wouldn't come on. I suspected that it might be an issue with the new thermostat, but as the heat and air unit that I was attempting to update was about as old as a fossil, I immediately ran into an issue and knew that I should call in some expert help. Luckily, when I did a search, I pulled up Mr. Brack's business and since I had seen it from the roadway coming and going to the house, I decided to give him a try. All of the positive review were indeed correct. Mr. Brack was timely and did an excellent job in not only troubleshooting the problem (the new thermostat I had purchased had a faulty base), but he was able to instruct me in how to connect a common wire up to the thermostat, since it required one and I didn't have one, and save me a bunch of money in the process. I've always been a do it yourself kind of person, but as I get older, I'm getting more aware that sometimes is much more economical to leave it to the professionals and Mr. Brack and his professional attitude gave me the confidence to know that I could let him do his job and that it would be well taken care of when he was done. Josh came out for a home warranty claim on a leaking toilet. Even though the home warranty company denied the very basic claim on a wax seal ring and flange (Home Warranty of America), I was so impressed with Josh that I just paid out of pocket before even submitting the appeal. Besides plumbing, he does HVAC and I'm sure I will calling on him in the future. I will however, be canceling my home warranty with Home Warranty of America. If you can't count on them for a wax ring and a flange, you sure can't count on them for a major appliance or ac system. read more

I've never encountered an issue with a unit's air duct because I've always lived in complexes that were well managed and upkept. However, we had the misfortune of moving into a condo that has not been really shown too much TLC, so we've been encountering a lot of issues, one of which was our dryer air duct being clogged. It became more and more of an issue, since it took 4-5 cycles to dryer a small load of clothes. This is when I contacted JB1 HVAC, Plumbing, & More. Josh had the most competitive price, and was very communicative throughout the whole process. We made an appointment for the next day, and Josh showed up promptly at 9AM to help us resolve the clogged air duct. Because I was curious about the whole process and wanted to see what was clogged in the pipes, I just talked to Josh as he did his thing. He taught me a lot about what the issue was, what he was doing, and other potential factors that would have contributed to this fiasco. After about an hour, the dryer air duct was finally unclogged. Josh explained very clearly what I should look out for in the future should I suspect anything wrong with the air duct. And he even provided advice and a fix that we should modify our ducting since it was unnecessarily long and could contribute to the pile up of lint. Payment was handled easily since Josh simply emails you an invoice in which you can pay via credit card online. We had a broken pipe that was hidden. Josh investigated and determined the best way to go at it was from the downstairs ceiling. He made one cut in the dry wall and was right underneath it. Total professional! Josh came 10min early to my 9a appt to clean my dryer vent. Before starting anything, Josh have me a quick education on my dryer vs other dryer vents. The education on what I had and the pros and cons of it settled my spirit! Air Duct Cleaning Josh and Joe arrived on time and were very personable. They cleaned out the dryer duct that was quite dirty. Though it took a bit longer than usual they stood by their original estimate. They cleaned up after themselves and even cleaned the dirt that had accumulated around the dryer that wasn't their doing. We had JB1 duct cleaning out today to clean our 5 air ducts and inside AC compressor. The ducts were $125 total and I felt it was a fair price for the labor involved in cleaning them. The forced air unit and fan was $175 to clean it, I felt for the labor involved to clean it should have been no more then $100 bucks. It took them 20 minutes to clean it which involved vacuuming, compressed air and suction, and using a chemical cleaner. The guys arrived on time, were nice and professional. My only complaint about the actual service was they did not have drop clothes or corner covers for the walls, additionally they asked me if I had a sheet or blanket to cover a few vents in our loft style vent ducts in our front room? I had to tell them to tape up the vents to properly secure them so dust did not get everywhere? Overall, good job with the exception of the aforementioned. read more
