They did not sell it out from under me (thank you Down The Road Motors!). When the vehicle was on the lot, the buying process was easy and they allowed me to get a private inspection--big plus! The mechanic that inspected my car said that the brakes were brand new, and the belts in great condition. He said it was a great little car and encouraged me heavily to buy it. He said he would've drove it round the country that day with full confidence. My new car did start making a belt noise a few days after purchase, and the mechanics at Down the Road Motors squeezed me right in to get my car fixed up and taken care of, no cost on me. Overall, my vehicle was a good value for what it is, however it does have cosmetic issues, mostly scratches and a leaky seal at the top, but that's what you get with an "as-is" used car. My only recommendation is to make sure you look over a car thoroughly to see if it's missing any seat heads, levers, etc--which should be done with any used car! I wasn't told about the things my car was missing so I had to look it over well, nothing that was missing made it worth not buying! In large part, I believe it was due to the service advisor, Tony, who I believe recently rejoined the company. Tony communicated clearly, followed through to make sure the service was completed as promised in a timely manner, and he is an affable man. He also went over the tasks that were performed on previous services at their dealership, which I was made aware of prior to this service. My thanks to Tony, the service tech who performed the work, and Austin who provided a ride home and picked me up when the work was completed. found the vehicle my son was looking for. late saturday…read moreafternoon we met a salesperson, and took a long test drive. the vehicle was everything he wanted, but had a different motor than expected. went inside, explained how this was his first dealership experience. he was sold on the vehicle, but needed to research the motor. on sunday , he did the research, applied on-line and was approved--- no money down. he had the bank send the approval into the business office ( they are closed on sunday) first thing monday morning he contacted the salesperson, and the finance office. told them he was excited to buy the vehicle, has an approval, only decision was IF he was going to put money down to lower the payment. got the vehicle info, and added insurance to the vehicle. told the salesperson AND THE FINANCE OFFICE he was buying the vehicle, but could not come in to finalize the loan until after work on Tuesday... after 3 pm. This was at 9 AM MONDAY. TUESDAY morning, the salesman contacted him to let him know they just took a downpmt on the vehicle for a different customer. THEY NEVER ASKED FOR A DEPOSIT FROM MY SON !! had they asked, he had the cash in hand and would have given- they never asked!! he was APPROVED ZERO MONEY DOWN! They sold the vehicle to the other customer, who did not pick the vehicle up until AFTER Tuesday 3:30. we spoke to the manager who shook his head in disbelief that we didnt put a down payment to secure the car!!! WE WERE NEVER ASKED FOR ONE. this place is cut throat and despicable. they never even acknowledged the mistake of the salesperson to not ask for deposit. they didnt care at all. i guess some people are just not wanted at this dealership. A 40,000 deal, tossed out ..... WE WILL NEVER LOOK AT ANYTHING THIS PLACE HAS TO OFFER. I WILL NOT RECOMMEND THEM TO ANYONE. SAD SAD way to treat a customer.
