Not only was I in the area a few nights ago, but I was also in the mood to shop costume jewelry. Somehow, the summertime makes a girl feel that it's essential to have all the right accessories to compliment their whimsical outfits. It's fun being a girl (guys, be jealous)! That being said, this narrow little store is pretty wonderous in the variety of things they carry. You will not find anything truly unique, it's all the generic type stuff that is trendy in-the-moment, but I nabbed a few bracelets, a pair of earrings and some headbands all for around $40 with a storewide, 25% off discount promotion. Now that I think about it, I want to say that you can pretty much find anything that's sold here in Chinatown within the same price range, if not cheaper, but, sometimes it's nice to shop in a store with kind retail clerks and not have to buy your sparkly earrings next to a rubbermaid pail full of live frogs. As much as I love Chinatown and all the glorious knock-offs it has to offer, it can be a hot mess a lot of the time. Suggestion to the men out there! Do not under any circumstance, buy costume jewelry for your significant others here. It's a bit (make that, a lot) on the tacky side and you will be branded as a stingy miser. It's fine for hair accessories, but stay away from the earrings, necklaces and bracelets. For that sort of thing, jewelry and department stores are the golden tickets. J. Fay is obviously not a popular place with only two measly reviews. And, I assure you, no one would miss it if it all of a sudden closed down -- including myself -- but if you're curious and wondering.. I say, stop in and browse. They have cute evening clutches (but can be found much cheaper elsewhere). Still, I'm sure you will leave with a little something-something afterall.

    Awesome. Stop in

This is a place for the serious lover of Accessories. .. lots of bangles, necklaces, sunglasses, and earings. The sunglasses are something that I don't recommend. The quality and the style isn't my choice. The people are very nice and warm. ..

My great finds (all under $20, the long dangly ones were only $4!!!!)

Lovely jewelry, just be careful some change colors & they're too expensive to be brassy. But overall I loveeee this store. 5/5 stars

Treated absolutely horribly by the owner. Cursed out over the phone when trying to ask a simple question. Not a good look.

One of the better selections of costume jewelry I've found.

I love Muji. I am not much of a shopper. But if I walk by a Muji and I have a moment, I will stop…read morein. I try to resist impulse buys. I am confident, however, I will find something that appeals to my frugality. I do not know if Muji invented the concept of a brand that is not a brand, in the sense of not advertising itself, which ironically achieves its own iconic minimalist status. They have perfected it though. Last time, I got their 90 degree socks. I actually have concluded it is not a gimmick. I have some socks that slip off, at the heel, in particular if I wear them with runnig shoes. These do not. Everything I have acquired from Muji has gone into my regular rotation. The design is good, the quality is there, and the prices are not outrageous. So I commend Muji to you if you have a similar sense of not wanting to want, but being willing to browse. I'm confident you will find something on every visit.

If I could rate Muji's customer service separately from its products, it would be one star…read more The problem isn't that mistakes happen--it's how Muji handles them. My order arrived with missing items despite paying oversized shipping and waiting days for delivery. Since then, I've been stuck in an endless cycle of apologies with almost no action. After nearly a week of emailing back and forth, I was asked to provide my order details again. Why? The entire email trail already contains everything they need. Instead of reviewing the case history, each representative seems to start from scratch, wasting the customer's time because they can't be bothered to read their own correspondence. Muji has mastered the art of apologizing without actually resolving anything. Every response is filled with sympathy and promises to "look into it," yet there is no urgency whatsoever to fix a mistake that was entirely their responsibility. Once they have your money, you're left waiting while your case sits in limbo. For a company that promotes quality and simplicity, their customer service is anything but. Poor communication, zero ownership, endless delays, and customers forced to repeatedly chase for updates. Paying extra for oversized shipping clearly doesn't translate to better service when something goes wrong. If you're lucky enough to receive your order intact, you'll probably have a good experience. But if there's a problem, don't expect Muji to treat it like a priority. Based on my experience, their customer service is all apologies and no accountability.
