I needed a small job done (install a new circuit in my basement). First I got an estimate from an electrician franchise which seemed very high. I didn't hire them and tried my luck with JM Ehwa, which is a small business. So glad I found them! They were very fast, professional, great communication, nice, informative, did great work, and they charged me less than half (closer to a third) of what the franchise was going to charge me. With some contractors coming in ahead of schedule to add some insulation up in my attic, I knew I should get a move on with having an overhead light installed in my dining room (not sure how the prior owners got by without one!). I didn't want anyone to have to brave the freshly blown insulation, even though I knew it could be done. Ehwa Electric was very accommodating on such short notice and managed to fit in the job right ahead of the insulation work. Used them for a long time and although they are expensive, they did pretty good work. I just got laid out in lavender by the owner because he said I spoke too fast and he couldn't hear my phone number on the message I left to ask them to come out and take a look at something. I had called several times that week. Nobody was answering the phone which in itself is another problem. . Anyway although I don't deny I may have talked too fast, it was kind of a sad excuse given that they did some major work for me during a renovation a few years ago and they've been out two or three times since them to out lights in. He went to school with my husband and knows who we are, but proceeded to scold me at length anyway. I finally told him to forget it that I'd call somebody else. Very disappointing. Nobody should have to put up with abuse from an electrician. There are a million of them out there. It's too bad because his workers are very nice. read more
