What, a Cracker Barrel with a less than a 3 star rating?!! I could hardly believe my eyes. So after driving all night from Florida, I was more than ready to stop for a break, grab some much needed caffeine, and eat a good breakfast. Cracker Barrel satisfied all these conditions. I was promptly seated. My server, Kara, came and took my order within minutes of me sitting down. She was friendly and courteous. As usual, I ordered their blueberry pancakes along with a side of bacon, and lots of coffee. The pancakes were fluffy, thick, not hard at all (as one previous reviewer had complained about), and were packed with fresh blueberries. Seriously, most blueberries I had enjoyed in CB's blueberry pancakes in a long time! The bacon was cooked just right, and the coffee was piping hot. Kara did a great job of making sure my coffee cup was filled. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal here, the service was great, and it's always nice to look around their rustic store and see their autumn offerings and collections. You would think these biscuits were a delicacy But trust me we were not Taking them home where those biscuits and bread or a stone aren't biscuits supposed to be considered an appetizer those weren't brought to us till after our food got here, and there was only three biscuits in the basket, even though there was four at the table all we got was Plano butter to go with it we specifically asked for strawberry jelly, but it was never brought to us but hey, at least it was clean by the way this was not our first time experiencing read more

By far the very worst Cracker Barrel meal of my entire life. The meatloaf came out completely black and burnt on top. I sent it back. Second piece also came out dry and black. The chicken and dumplings had less than a teaspoon of any gravy/liquid in it. It was so dry and gummy, I had trouble swallowing it. I asked for some of the liquid off the dumplings to add to mine and she brought me out some barely colored water (definitely nothing out of a pot of dumplings). The vegetables were in partially filled side dishes. Husband got the daily special of honey fried chicken. It was cold, dry and way overcooked. We got the $5 to go meals. Mine came with mashed potatoes. She got unhappy with me when I asked for some gravy for the potatoes. The to go meals came out over 5 minutes before our dine in meals. I accidentally knocked the bag over soon after she set it down. The lights were out in the mid section of the dining room. I guess they were hoping you would not see how burned and dried out your food was. A manager never came by. The cashier did not ask about how our dinner was. I was hoping she would so I could show her how bad it was. I go to Cracker Barrel because it's always fresh, good and consistent. Not this time. Have eaten here a few times, the food is ok. The service was and is absolutely horrible. Latest misadventure: 12/19/2023, I placed an online order at 5:00pm for a pickup at 7:15 pm. I arrive at 7:15, orders not ready, the ladies at the counter check on it saying "they're getting it ready now". At 7:35 pm, I'm told the order will be ready in 20 minutes. I ask to speak with the manager, he comes out and I tell him I want a refund, he says he's going to check on it first . At 7:40, he has on of the ladies at the counter tell me it'll be ready in five minutes (30 after when it was supposed to be picked up). I told the girl at the counter I still want a refund, they inform me the manager is taking care of it right now. I wait until 8:00 pm, all the while looking at the ladies at the counter when I finally ask them if the manager was going to give me a receipt indicating a refund had been processed, they said no, there is no receipt. I have now wasted 45 minutes minus the 20 minute drive there and return trip. The manager didn't even offer an apology, nor did he want to explain why there was such a delay. Had I gone into the restaurant, ordered my food and waited a half an hour to be told another 20 minutes, I would walk out! Why would I wait this long for an online order I placed over two hours prior? Avoid this place like the plague, unless you have nothing but time and money to waste! read more

Everyone around here seems to love this place. I was not a fan. Maybe I just ordered the wrong thing, not sure. I thought the hash brown casserole was awful and the grits not edible. The only thing I ended up eating were my eggs and a biscuit. Their biscuits were good but I didn't eat the gravy because it was more like thick paste, yuck. Maybe it was an off day for the cook, I don't know. I may give it another try at a different location. read more

We've been to Cracker Barrell restaurants a lot in several states. So when we were looking for a place to eat on the way home from out of state we stopped at this one. We got here at 7pm. We were sat immediately. That clock is important to show just how bad our service was today. We gave our orders and then didn't see our waitress at our table again for a half hour. We didn't get the biscuits, which we ordered with our food, until we had been at our table for over 35 minutes, at 7:39pm. It's unclear why other than our waitress just never came back after she took our order. At 7:49 most of the food came. Not a loaded sweet potato. My French Toast, which is supposed to have "Four slices of our Sourdough bread, grilled and topped with butter. Plus 100% Pure Natural Syrup or any fruit Sweet Topping (320-390 cal)." (This is from their website.) I asked our waitress and she said when you don't order the one with eggs and meat you only get two. The two, which you can see, aren't even the right bread. After the meal, I checked the receipt and asked about this. She said the machine allowed for French Toast without meat at $4.79. It's not on the menu and when I challenged what I received when I got it she didn't think to double check. The loaded sweet potato finally came at 7:59pm. Over 50 minutes after it was ordered and a full 10 minutes after all the other food. I want to stress that this restaurant was not busy. I counted 5 tables with guests on my side of the divider. I could see three others in the center side. I couldn't see the far side. But servers were cleaning and walking about. It wasn't busy. There was no explanation for why our food took 40 minutes or the late food that took 10 more. On top of the delay, the sweet potato wasn't even cooked well. It was Luke warm and not fully cooked through. Sweet potato should be easy to mash. But this wasn't. We asked for that to be removed and she did. The food for the most part was fine, at least. Normal. But I'd never eat here again. Our server, Emma B according to the receipt, was inattentive and made several mistakes. And when she made mistakes she didn't fix them on. She never even refilled our water. We finally got our check and I paid. When I did the person at the counter asked how things were and then immediately started telling me to swipe my card. She didn't care. That's pretty much how I felt everyone here felt. I paid and left. It was a bad experience and so unlike the many other Cracker Barrells we've eaten at. read more

Pancakes came out hard, they were replaced but when I went to eat my scrambled eggs liquid gushed out of them. When server came back I told her just to charge me for pancakes because were traveling and didn't have time for another re-do. Sooo, she charged me $8.99 for stack of pancakes and meal was $8.99. I was charged same price for less food??? No apology, no visit from manager. Usually we enjoy and appreciate the country cooking of the CB. Tonight's experience was less than going to fast food place. My grits were so runny, the cornbread biscuits could NOT be cut with a knife because they were so hard. They were out of hashbrown casserole, fried apples, okra and other items. My eggs and bacon were great. We told (showed) the manager how hard the biscuits were and she offered to get us fresh. (We declined because these should have been fresh to begin with). I would NOT recommend this CB to anyone. Our waiter was average. I felt like he didn't listen to because I ordered brown sugar with the grits. He had to make multiple trips to get them. I usually do breakfast at Cracker Barrel, I love their buttermilk pancakes. We ate dinner here while in Kentucky. I had the two buttermilk fried chicken breasts with a house salad and macaroni and cheese. The salad would have been ok if they had not put the hard pieces in it that are usually thrown away. Those pieces of lettuce were brown. The macaroni and cheese was what I expected it to be, but it wasn't bad. The fried chicken was very good. It was skinless and crunchy outside and tender on the inside. My meal was good, my only complaint was the brown lettuce in the salad. I would recommend eating at this Cracker Barrel. This was the worst Cracker Barrel we have ever gone to! The hostess is so uninterested in her job, is groomed so sloppy and purposely moves like a snail even though there are lots of people waiting in line. She doesn't smile and is definitely NOT hostess material. All of the wait staff was slow and so was the manager. This is a very poorly managed and staffed restaurant! We waited forever to get our food and when it finally arrived it was cold!!!! Except for the chicken part that had to be deep fried. The gravy that was poured on the top was literally cold! Convenient location, was really thrilled with the welcome and the fact that they weren't too busy at 9:00 am. Was rather disappointed with our wait time after placing our order. We were a party of four and didn't order anything too crazy. I didn't appreciate being corrected by the waitress when I received my plate and it was chicken finger instead of chicken fried steak which I ordered. I know I said steak because she actually quested whether or not I said chicken fingers or steak to which I again confirmed steak. She proceeded to tell me I said chicken fingers. Number one, I wasn't rude about it, I didn't ask her to take it back, we didn't have time to wait any longer. I guess I shouldn't have said anything if I wasn't going to request it be made right, but anyhow. You don't correct a customer, I mean.. if I was being rude I know there would probably be a temptation to say "no ma'am you ordered this..". But it's just not something you do and it surely was too early in the day to be having your full of customer BS which I would imagine she gets plenty of. I stopped into this Cracker Barrel for breakfast one morning on my way to an out of town meeting. I had about 30 min, but I can usually get in and out of a cracker batter pretty quickly, so I wasn't worried. Sure enough, I walked in, was seated right away and within 30 seconds the waitress was at my table to take my drink order and food order since I was ready! We stopped here for lunch as we were traveling through the area. We always try to find a CB for a meal anytime we travel. This location also had some very nice gift selections. I ordered the Lunch Sampler with Country Ham, Dumplings and Meat Loaf and 3 sides. Served with hot rolls it was all delicious. My wife ordered the Chicken & Dumplings with 2 sides also all delicious. Coffee though was worse, tasted like watered-down dishwater really. I'd give it a 1 star but the 3 star evens out the score. We were there for Breakfast. We had Grandpa's breakfast. I had chicken fried, with gravy hash brown casserole and scrambled eggs. Everything was hot and tasted excellent. Jamie was or server, she was a joy. She was very happy and funny. We decided to try the Cheese curds, fried pickles and beignets they were so good. Best I have ever had. Dishes were not dirty like someone said. Hostess was busy but still friendly and certainly not dirty. Sometimes I wonder how a place can have two so different reviews. We were driving through the wasteland that is my old home area when my daughter expressed a fierce need for biscuits, eggs and apple butter. Cracker Barrel is always there. Like really. Always there. This particular outlet is just like all the others with service similar to the others. It was attentive without being pushy, kind without being saccharine. The coffee has gotten better. I wonder if the chain has changed or if this particular location has upped the ante. The biscuits were well baked. It seems as though some CBs under cook. So, that's why this one is slightly above other CBs that I've tried. Overall Cracker Barrel comments: Still, it's chain food attempting to be non chain food. I should start off by saying if I could leave negative stars I would. We visited Cracker Barrel on March 27th and the service from our waitress was amazing however we waited over 40 minutes for our food and our order was split into three different checks resulting in half of our table getting food first and about 15 minutes later the other half of the table received there food. Our food was cold and was undercooked. I ordered a steak at medium rare and received a steak that was rare as rare could be. My brother and sister in law also ordered steaks to be at medium well, they received steaks that where medium rare. I am a type 1 diabetic so I had already given myself insulin before this meal began and with everything not the way it should be my sugar began to drop. I asked for the manager and she began saying that the cooks where new, which if you where hired to be a cook you should know how to cook this shouldn't be an excuse; she had just clocked in and doesn't know what is going on, again not my problem you should have better management of your establishment; she said her mother was a type 1 diabetic and that she understands, she does not understand how your blood sugar affects you; we then asked her how she was going to fix this and she stated she didn't look at the bill so she doesn't know, regardless of how much our food costs you need to be able to fix our experience by giving better food and faster service so our food isn't cold. She had a horrible attitude and didn't know how to manage a restaurant properly. We did however receive new food and the steaks where cooked properly but the food was rotten and made my brother puke after eating one bite of the steak. Needless to say never again will I eat at this restaurant and cracker barrel needs to find new management and cooks for this establishment. read more

I am so glad that they now have "healthy" options with low calories as I had the trout. They had over seated the section I was in, but others assisted the server and I was waited on quickly. However, It took a while to obtain my salad and the trout quickly followed. So I ate my dinner first so it would not become cold. The server worked hard and my water glass was never empty. read more

You know how it is...You've been driving all day and you're just hungry. You don't want silver service and special trendy sauces and stuff...You just want some comfort food, a comfortable chair and to relax for a while. Cracker Barrel always comes through. I like the atmosphere, I like the service, (Thanks Daniel), I like the busy-busy, and still can't do better than to leave 2 golf tees in the triangle game. (You'll know what I mean if you have been there). Their unsweetened tea is the best; their biscuits are always better than average and their food is just bloody good! The beans, turnip greens and mashed spuds are wonderful. The ribeye was juicy, well cooked and tasty. My girl had the cat fish and declared it to have been first class. Then we had the no-sugar-added apple pie and ice cream and coffee. All this came in at $36. That's good. Really good. It is very good home style cooking in a friendly environment with good service. It was my first time at this particular venue, but we are never disappointed no matter where it is that we stop at a Cracker Barrel. read more

My husband isn't a fan of Cracker Barrel in general, but I convinced him to stop at this one because it was on our route, he wasn't planning on eating, the kids like it, and I had a gift card to use up. Long story short. 45 minutes after being seated- and quickly ordering- we had watched 3 different parties seated after us pay and leave. Since we still had further to drive we didn't think we could wait any longer. My husband probably would have been content to just walk out, but we compromised by asking the floor-manager if they could just pack our food to-go. We get the food, pay (full-price, no discount offered, but I did use up that gift card), and head out. Passing food out in the car I find they only packed one biscuit and one corn bread. We ordered 4 meals and with 3 kids this situation was already creating a conflict. My husband decides to go back in and ask for one more of each-- just what we paid for. The floor-manager tells him that kids meals don't come with a bread option. Hubs says that I seemed pretty sure that they do, but if not that was ok, we just wanted what we paid for. Floor-manager, says it's no problem he will get us more bread-- doing us a solid, for sure. An hour after we first sat down, we have all our food and can eat it on the road. -- The food quality was standard Cracker Barrel. Some people got timely/good service (we had plenty of time to watch them), the service we received was not so much poor as it was non-existent. . . Our party of three ate there in the evening of 07/17/2022. Two of our party wanted dumplings. Upon being seated, we were told there were no dumplings. We scrambled to find something else on the menu. Two of us ordered a chef salad. The third person ordered meatloaf, double hashbrown casserole, and turnip greens. The salads arrived within a reasonable amount of time. Both chef salads, but for the most party, both were different. One had turkey only. The other had ham only. Neither had croutons or a cheese wedge. Neither had crackers. The meatloaf meal did not arrive until the other two were almost completely finished with the salads. We were not given a reason as to why. The meatloaf was just so-so, and the hashbrown casserole was very dry. We never saw our original waitress after the salads were delivered to the table. Another waitress brought the meatloaf meal. We sat there for quite some time after finishing, and no one brought our ticket to the table. We proceeded to the front register only to note there were several people waiting to pay, and no one was anywhere in the "store" area to take the payments. No one behind the register. No one behind the check-in desk. No employee anywhere. Finally, someone fromt he dining room asked if we were waiting to be seated, and we told her no, we are waiting for our ticket to pay. She yelled back, and the original waitress brought our ticket with a half-hearted apology. She said she was waitressing and also taking care of the grill. We stood there for several more minutes and began talking to other customers in line to pay when we were told to look at the floor directly in front of the register area just around the corner from where we were standing. Someone had an unfortunate accident, and there was a large area of diarrhea right there on the floor. One employee walked right by it, looked at it, and grinned. He did nothing. Another employee brought a younger employee to the register, and we heard her say to the girl to just stand at the other register (the register not directly in front of the diarrhea) and get the customers checked out. She disappeared to the back after that. So, I know of at least three employees who saw the situation and never did anything about it nor offered any sort of apology. We were in the "store" area waiting to pay for probably 10-15 minutes and never saw anyone address the matter at hand. This is unacceptable. This was not our first bad experience at this location, but it is by far the worst. Cleanliness has been as issue there on other occasions with tables not being wiped down adequately and dirty silverware being distributed to guests. We will probably never be back to Cracker Barrel. If so, we will not go to this location. read more

We have ordered several times from Cracker Barrel to take home. My husband likes mashed potatoes and white gravy. For some reason they never put more than a teaspoon of gravy on his potatoes if that.
