a grocery store with a variety of goods
    Tiffany L.

It's a really, really, small grocery store, and maybe this review is biased a little since my friend's family owns it, but it really is nice! I mainly go here for the baked goods, which they get from Bread Garden in newport news (a korean bakery). If they have it, buy the korean cheesecake, soooooooo good. It's not like an american cheesecake, or a french cheesecake, or even a japanese cheesecake. It really is it's own category, like if a pound cake and a sponge cake had a baby, and then that baby had a baby with a cheesecake. BOOM, there's my baby, my korean cheesecake baby. Okay, besides that. They'll have little cookies, buns, and sometimes sushi to go, and it's fresh (unlike these giant super international/asian marts, where it gets stale and bleck). They have noodles, curry, seasonings, and a nice assortment of japanese snacks you won't find in other stores around here (not even Ichiban near lynnhaven, but I like them too =] ). They got a little fridge for drinks, so it's nice and chilled too. They got bigger fridges full of ingredients to be cooked, or ready to cook items. They also got a nice selection of rice. You can get a good look at their store on their website (jmartjmart.com) or I'll upload some later! If you're interested in japanese food, gooooooooooo~ if you're lost, whoever's working will help you just fine. Except I don't know about Jesse he's quiet and looks mean, go for his twin Sandy~ :) **edit: Jesse is nice too.

This is is very small, like the size of a guest bedroom. I came here specifically for seaweed salad. I spent a lot considering how small the container was, I think I spent around $9. It lasted me about 3 days since I like to eat it with main dishes however I thought the store itself was nice, it was pretty pricey though and hope their getting enough business.

A green tea ice cream sandwich! It had ice cream cone around it instead of those soft cookies. Delicious, and only $1.89

Love that they have more hot food items... seafood boils, fried chicken, lumpia, ribs, crawfish and shrimp just wish I was RICH! It was super busy today but wi the the new room it didn't seem as crowded as I'm used to. So that was nice. Found everything I was looking for and more - as usual! There were a lot of carts with items down the aisle making it hard to get around - looks as if maybe short staffed and having to fill shelves when possible. That's also to be expected. Definitely some items are pricey compared to other locations but I try to pick and choose what I'm going for. I want the items I can't get at Food Lion etc. picked up some fresh made Seafood salad today and some pico de gallo and both were great! Can't wait until I can afford to go back an really stock my shelves! They also have mochi donuts now and a spot where they make bobas. Next time!!

The store has a large selection of vegetables, fruits, meat, and fish! There were 3 fresh food areas in the store. One sold mochi donuts. One sold fried chicken and the other sold a variety of fresh foods. There was an area that had kitchen items and I found a cute rice bowl set that I've been using everyday! I ended up finding all the food items I needed and a few extra items! Overall, this store has excellent selection. I will definitely be returning!

I think prices are a biotech HIGH but what places do you know that haven't been impacted by inflation? From dragon fruit to quail eggs this was a foodies field day! It was the same building as World Market with new signs and different merchandise. The new location has only half of what I bought at Jefferson ave in Newport News (not the store on Warwick blvd.) E-Mart was moved virtually overnight and without warning to Virginia Beach from Newport News. Did an army of marauders lug everything south or was it quantum tunneling and computer modeling that displace matter within space...? World Market in Newport News is the new E-Mart and has only furniture, not the Asian food I was looking for. Instead, I went next door to Fresh Market and bought two bags of red, white and blue potato chips. The woman of color behind the counter knew I understood what they had done. She said something out of context with my shopping trip: "It's my turn now." As if reparations are my duty to the world and I have to hand over the American legacy on a silver platter to make things right. Oh, so that's why you keep moving things around. Okay! Don't look at me if you want 40 acres and a mule because thanks to the local radical left politicians and reverse discrimination I have neither. This is a shell game. Someone is practicing psyops.

We got the chicken gyro, chicken tawook, and beef gyros. I also ordered a side of rice and tatziki with pita chips. The prices are very reasonable.. I went and waited in the car. The food was ready in about 8 minutes and the gentlemen brought it out to my car, which was very nice. I liked the chicken gyro. It was different textures because of the toppings with a good taste and crunch. The chicken tawook was also good. I liked the beef as well, it was tender and the sauce on it was good. The hummas and tzatziki sauce tasted good also. It made the gyros better. I like that the gyros are rolled kinda long and thin so its easy to eat without everything spilling out. You could easily eat it and drive. The rice was cooked just right. It had no flavor at all, but it was somehow still good... I'd return to try other things. If your looking to try some different foods, this is a good place to try... I got some drinks and a few were good, but one was to sweet. I had fun picking out random things to try though. 4 stars!!
