He had some great ideas and suggestions and actually has a great carpenter on staff that replaced some of our cedar shingles that were on their way out. They also soft washed the entire house, gutters, roof everything for us! Brian helped us pick out the perfect blue for our front door that gave it a great pop of color. He also offered to repaint a big metal compass decoration that was starting to rust a little bit which was a nice treat and just goes to the level of care he has for every single job. His crew showed up by 8:30 pretty much every morning and are all really great guys. They all cleaned up after themselves and were conscientious and friendly. Their work is unbelievable, how neat and clean they kept everything. They worked very quickly but were also thorough. We just replaced all our windows with new black windows and we were a little nervous about them getting messy, but those guys are so neat and precise they all look perfect! We had a few little spots on a punch list that we noticed and they were immediately addressed with no issue or grumbling. All of his employees are incredibly skilled at their trade, but also easy to talk to and humble nice guys. We had a little misunderstanding in the beginning with the pressure washing, but Brian absolutely went above and beyond to make sure we were thrilled. Brian is the kind of business owner that will be around for a long time with a great reputation because he does the right thing, takes pride in his work, and is on site almost every day making sure things come out perfect. We are so happy we hired Top Notch Painting and would recommend him and his team for all your painting needs!

I found corrosion and cracks in the metal pipe between the water meter and the water main. Two technicians from the Roto-Rooter came but they said the repair should be done by the town and it's not their responsibility, but just took the check. A town officer recommended a few plumbers who can do the job and Mr. Baker was the only plumber who called back. To make a long story short, Mr. Baker fixed the problem in no time and he also addressed potential problems that might occur down the road. So I asked him to replace a the partially corroded type M copper pieces with new ones. His long experience in this field obviously is shown in his professionalism and trust. The price was very reasonable and we are very happy with what he did for my old house.

After meeting with a couple of designers and contractors, I knew John was the one I was going with. From the earliest stages of the project he was prompt, extremely organized and best of all, attentive to what I actually wanted. John and I worked to design my dream kitchen within our budget and he returned with a binder with renderings and detailing every step of the process (all before I actually signed my contract with him). This was important as the project was to be started and completed during our absence from the Cape during the winter months. I made several additions and changes along the way and even decided to have him renovate our 1/2 bath while he was working here, as well as build a hall entry area. John was in touch throughout the entire project, sending pictures frequently and communicating whenever there were choices or issues to discuss. My husband and I returned to the Cape in late May to the completed kitchen, 1/2 bath, and entryway and they were everything I'd planned and envisioned. John's work is beautiful and he pays attention to every detail. I'd very highly recommend John Clark for your renovation needs on the Cape! They have pros in all of the building trades: foundations, HVAC, framing, electrical, plumbing, interior design, specialty kitchens and bathrooms...it an all-inclusive experience and they handle everything. Their name says it all. Design Build. That's what we wanted and that's what they delivered, every step of the way, including permitting with the town, architectural drawings, elevations and blueprints, engineering schematics and plans, and of course all elements of construction both outside and inside. We contracted Longfellow to design and build an entire 2ndfloor for our cottage in the Swifts Beach area of Wareham. They worked closely with us and provided several options for materials, fixtures and appliances, flooring, lighting, etc. They invited us to consult with them at every stage, and they willingly changed some of the plans during construction when we asked for some additional windows and partition walls. No problem. We were so pleased with the end-result of our new upstairs that we had them renovate our downstairs, too. We had them re-shingle our entire home, add new hardwood floors throughout the downstairs, insulate, drywall, and plaster all of our 1st floor walls, replace some windows, and replace all of our downstairs electrical outlets. These folks are fast, too. Honestly...in two days' time they demolished our roof, framed and decked the new 2nd floor, erected all of the outer walls, framed the new roof which included a massive, sturdy LVL beam for the ridge board, and then sheathed and wrapped it all in Tyvek. We were dumbfounded. Their electricians are first rate, and fast. It's the same with every other aspect of their construction, including keeping the yard clean and being courteous to our neighbors. They have several skilled crews and multiple trade masters on their team, with showrooms in Falmouth, Osterville, Sandwich, and Harwich Port. They also construct and remodel homes in the local towns off-Cape, which was the case with us. In short, Longfellow Design Build took our three-season cottage and transformed it into beautiful, comfortable, weather-tight, luxurious, year-round home, AND THE PRICE WAS RIGHT! Excellent work! My…read morefamily installed solar panels 2 years ago on our south facing roof. The solar company used a subcontractor from New Bedford. Within a year I found a leak in the brand new roof from the solar panel installation. I contacted the solar company and and were "unable to locate" the subcontractor that they had originally used for the negligent installation. I called several local roofing companies to make repairs ...(and by several I mean 6). Not only is Skip, the owner Cape Cod Roofing, the ONLY contractor to get back to me, but he spoke to me at length to ascertain the exact nature of the problem. He made me realize it wasn't uncommon for leaks to occur from solar panel installation. In essence, he calmed my nerves He arrived at the house giving us about a week notice so we could meet him there. He used my input to figure out exactly where the leak was, as well as other potential problems with initial installation. He found several areas of concern including poorly secured brackets and broken roofing shingles...(exactly where the leak was occurring). Skip took pictures throughout the process so I could have the necessary documentation to file the claim with the solar company. He sealed the roof, made the necessary repairs...and the GREAT news: its been torrential rain for the past 24 hours....and there are NO LEAKS! Skip and his worker were very professional and easy to work with I'm very happy with the repair I would use them again I have already given 2 neighbors a heads up about this good local company

There is a fundamental imbalance in knowledge between customers like myself, who do this once or twice in a lifetime, and professionals who do this for their careers. This makes it hard to, for example, review a contract and work description and know if it answers all the questions that will arise. I didn't always know what to look for or how to interpret some items. Charlie, however, was always forthcoming and he and his crew were all friendly and great. I've already recommended them to several friends looking for work.
