Don't go here. They want to do what they want to do, not what you ask them to. Have made several of my items shorter than I asked. Was in a bind and needed measurements taken. I was willing to pay & even brought in a shirt to get taken in even though I don't trust their alterations. She just kept saying "I don't like, I don't like" and was rude about it. She had no other customers and it would've taken 5 minutes to do my measurements. Also, they definitely play favorites. Their favorites get to pick when their stuff is done. I've had to wait a week or longer. read more

I recently lost a lot of weight and took several pairs of pants and a couple of shirts to J N Tailors to be altered. The first time I went in there, the lady quickly made some chalk marks on my clothes and then took the clothes. I was skeptical. She hardly spent any time at all. When I got my pants and shirt back, they fit PERFECTLY. They really know what they're doing in there! And they're quick! Came in here after reading the great reviews on here, and they did not disappoint. I brought in a suit that needed to be tailored for a slim fit as well as a pair of dress pants. They were very reasonably priced and did the work in 1 day! Had to get a strapless bridesmaid dress taken in at the top. I chose this place for the excellent Yelp reviews. Took my dress in on Saturday, 10/01 and it took her only a few minutes to pin my dress and told me to come by the next Saturday. I went in today and the dress fits perfectly! Reasonably priced for the area...$50. I didn't want to go cheap as I needed it done quick and needed it done right. So professionally done and you can't even tell I had it altered. Unlike other reviews, place is clean and tidy. Soooo glad I chose this place since the wedding is in 15 days. read more

Off centered sewing, had a vest done here and it was off centered, however it was done fast (had to get it redone, and was almost $35 dollars) for next day for random patches on a vest. Waste of money, the lady at the front was very nice, but didn't make up for the service. read more

I stopped by last Friday (6/17) to have a hole in the seam of my dress pants mended. I was told immediately to have a seat and within 2 minutes, I had my repaired pants and was on my way. I offered to pay and was told it was not necessary. I was floored with the level of service and can't stop telling people about it. I had come here previously to have the same pants hemmed and they did a great job. Would definitely recommend this shop. read more

I have been using J & N for 6 years and in my opinion, they are without question the best tailors in Katy, and the ONLY tailors I use. They quote fair prices and they do quality work just as planned. When I come in, Jenny somehow remembers my name in spite of her large client base. And when you climb up on that stool, she will have you measured and out of there very quickly. No matter the garment-- formal gown all the way to fitting/hemming jeans--the work turnaround is excellent. Took my wedding dress to a different alterations place first a first opinion. Just needed a few places taken in here and there and cups added. The other place told me it would take 3 months and would cost me $535. I said no thank you and brought it over to J N and within the hour they told me it would cost $50 and would be ready in a week. What a deal! These people are efficient, good at what they do, and extremely reasonably priced!!! Highly recommend. Do not settle for other people trying to rip you off!!! read more

I needed to get my wedding dress altered for my wedding in October, I tried to do some research of tailors in the Katy area, as we are new to the area and didn't know any where. I got an appointment right away, went in and put my wedding dress on (which I bought a little small, and needed to get it tailored to fit). I walked out of the dress room, and the woman just looked at me and the dress and then said, "Your too fat, lose weight and come back and see me in a month." I was completely horrified, I asked what would happened if I didn't lose enough weight before the fitting, she went on to tell me she couldn't do anything for me because I was too fat! No one should ever be told they are too fat, especially in their wedding dress! I wouldn't recommend this tailor at all, I went to a different tailor the next day and my dress has been fixed and fits me perfect! These people lost about $600 in business from me because "I was too fat!" read more

I just dropped off two pair of pants for my son to have the hem taken up. I asked her if there was any way she could have one pair done the next day so my son could have them for church. Not only did she agree to do it, she will have both pair ready for $10 a pair! No extra charge for the rush! I haven't seen their work yet but being just a hem, I bet it's as good as their service. Best jean hem I've ever had. I had a pair of nice Paige jeans. Jenny took my measurements while I tried them on and it turned out so nice. She knows what she is doing. Only 10$ and I was in the store for a very quick fitting and drop off. The jeans were ready a week later for pick up. I've taken a formal gown and work pants here, as well as men's suit pants and a blazer. All my items came out really nicely. It's nice to have a tailor so close to home. Prices are reasonable and turn around has been a week each time, so make sure you take your items far in advance. If you need it a bit quicker though, it doesn't seem to be much of an issue. read more

I have had dress pants hemmed, sleeves shortened, tears repaired, etc. Fantastic work for a very affordable price; no reason not to get everything I own tailored to fit just right!
