They are crooks. Terrible customer service. They treat minorities terrible, they are racist. The car repair place half fixes your car and never truly are honest or able to troubleshoot issues mechanically. We made the mistake of purchasing a vehicle and then later have so many issues with it and then charged for service repairs that should have been sorted out prior to us purchasing the vehicle. After speaking to several people in the community it was made aware to us that this is their typical practice. It's a shame, we always try to go local to support our community but it's terrible when you truly try to give a company the benefit of the doubt and they focus on monetary gain vs. developing long term relationships with customers whom are active in the community and have a large network of acquaintances. read more

The front brakes on our 2006 Trailblazer were making some tell-tale noises indicating that they needed some immediate attention. So I took it to another shop, closer to my home, to get an estimate. That shop, which shall remain nameless, told me that not only did it need brake pads and new rotors (which I was figuring on, anyway) but the calipers were shot also and they needed to be replaced. They quoted the front brakes at close to $650, plus tax. They also told me that the rear brakes were at about 5% and needed some additional parts replaced as well, coming to an additional $550, plus tax. I couldn't afford that at the time, so I took their estimate and waited for a payday or two so I could afford to get at least the front brakes done. I was referred to JP Automotive by the folks at Virg's Brake & Suspension because they couldn't fit us in to their schedule and we needed the work done ASAP, and JP Automotive delivered big time. JP Automotive scheduled us for the following morning WITH A FREE LOANER CAR. When Mike called with to let me know what they found and what the actual cost would be - before they started the work, so I could approve before they stuck me with a bill - he told me that they really didn't need to replace the calipers, the ones that are on the car are just fine. So they saved me $250 or so that I didn't need to spend, and they got the work done and had our car back to us by noon that same day all for about $200 less than "that other place". Now that is what I call world class service! JP Automotive has earned a customer for life. read more

Took my truck in for an oil change and a new battery. They took forever. Spilled oil all over my motor and then didn't tell me about it. Turns out they also gave me a bad battery. Got a quote for new brakes that was 2x the dealer. read more

Scheduled a oil change for my BMW here, arrived ten minutes early and they were able to get me in right away. They were very friendly and affordable, I even misplaced my phone while I was here and they helped me call it and locate it! I would recommend this place and will for sure be back!! read more

I recently used JP Automotive for an oil change. They kindly provided me a loaner so I could go back to work while they completed services. They were done within an hour and a half. I love these guys. I have been going here over 20 years. I work locally and I had a problem the day after I got an oil change at fast lub shop in Anacortes. All my engines lights came on, and I knew it had to do with the oil change , the shop said "Oh not we couldn't have done anything to your car" I had to go to the airport in Seattle that day , several of the guys at work said call JP Motors in Mt Vernon. The guys at work all had antique, high end and sports cars, so I knew if they used JP they had to be good. JP got me in, fix the problem and got me on my way to the airport in plenty of time. By the way it was a problem cause by the fast Lab shop , they nicked the hose. I have been going to JP ever since, they do all the work on my Lexus RX 300 which is now 15 years old . I am a single women and I always feel welcome and never feel I am being over charged. Which is a big deal now days. read more

I think Mike Floether is a hater and he will try to hurt me and my wife Jenny. He has been harassing me since 2915 when i fixed his transmission. Dan from Community Auto Repair in Burien told him that I had replaced his transmission with a transmission from the wrecking yard. He has been trashing me on facebook and the internet. He went to B.B.B. and the attorney general. He was not able to get anywhere because he has no proof. So all he can do is write stupid reviews on yelp. I filed and anti-harassment order against him in 2018. I ran into him the other day at the Burien post office he made a sign like he was going to cut me. I was new in town when I first visited JP Automotive and felt lucky that I chose to take my business here! They were helpful and honest, telling me that my car would continue giving me grief and that I would be better off getting a new one. The car places I have been to previously never told me that, I just kept fixing it ($10,000 worth) and wondering if this last fix-it would finally be all my car needed. When I first arrived here, a technician drove around with me in my car to pinpoint the problem. They also gave me a loaner car for 24 hours free of charge while my car was being fixed. We called and made an appointment to get our car worked on and when we got there they told us it would be a hour wait. That hour turned into 1.5-2 hours. We didn't get our car worked on because they misinformed us about the timeline, so we assumed they would continue to give us misinformation. read more

This all happened over the course of a few months. I took my car in for a check on a yellow engine light. turns out it was an EGR valve too dirty, but the clog was not effecting engine performance at all. They decided to clean it (I've found out since that this is a really bad idea.) The car sputtered and jumped and thumped and screamed after they "cleaned" the valve. They looked at it but said it would be fine. I also had the radiator lines changed because they recommended it. Shortly after, I took the car on a short road trip (2 hours each way) and in the middle of the trip, the car started to overheat. When I got home, they said my radiator was cracked so I had them put in a radiator. and other things. They never checked if my head gasket was blown. (I later found out this is a very easy test.) But it was blown before they replaced the radiator. I paid them $1500. I believe it was their "repairs" that led to my car being totaled in the end. When replacing radiator lines, one would think they would also make sure the radiator was full of water. and all these repairs happened in too close succession to be coincidence. Also, I had my radiator replaced 5 years ago - so that wasn't old at all. Also, after all this, I googled my car and issues after overheating and the first one was blown head gasket. I should have done my own homework and I will in the future but I was trusting the mechanic. and would never trust these people again. read more

They will do what they say, it seems nothing more. I had an issue on my diesel when they did the oil change, they agreed to drain the water separation but couldn't find it. They didn't ask me where it was, they just didn't do it. I also had two fuel filters that ford changes at the oil change, they were in with the oil filter, we didn't discuss them. The mechanic just didn't bother to ask about the other filters. One is next to the oil filter on top of the engine, the other is in the fuel sending unit/ water separation unit that they agreed to drain but couldn't find and didn't bother asking. Together they may add 5 min to the job. I've spent maybe 200 or more with them in the last month. This job was small and they used my parts, they charged me 18 for the work. I would have paid them more to do the extra 5 minutes of work, HAD THEY ASKED. I can only assume that the mechanic was to proud to ask or didn't care because it was only a 20 dollar oil change. They charge 96.00 per hour for labor, I may as well take my vehicles to the dealer. I'm sure they will call if there is an issue. read more

I called due to a check engine light that had come up on my car. They were able to get me an appointment within an hour and told me it was a $48 fee for diagnostic. Once they hooked it up we found it had come on from operator error (mine) and he reset it and sent me on my way with no charge. Very nice people and I will for sure come back again when I do have a problem. read more

I was reluctant to put this post but I've been asked by a handful of people that I should share. We have been customers for over 10 years, we had taken all of our vehicles here (6)to be exact mine is a suburban, a few months back JP told us that our transformer case had a small leak, JP had repaired it with a quick fix and we were ok with that. We were planning a trip and took our car in for service only a couple of days before our trip to Pasco. We paid for a Oil change and fluid check. We broke down in Yakima because our transformer case had no oil ! When we asked Jp if they had check the oil they could not give us a answer, all they could say was " you knew there was a problem " and we simply asked did you check the oil ? It cost us over 3,000 dollars to repair not to mention the inconvenience of not having my car for over three weeks. We were very disappointed they did not stand behind their work. We feel we are fair people, we just wish they would have been fair to us. We are moving on to a new automotive shop. Also, it was clear to us if they had check the oil we would have known if it would have been safe to drive or not. read more

I used to use this shop on occasion and then quit bringing my car in due to being charged a ridiculous amount of money for the parts they used on my car. I used to work at an auto parts store and I know how much the mechanics pay for the parts. I honestly think they put well over a 100% markup on the parts they used on my car. I found another mechanic and usually have my car serviced by him now. I brought my car to JP Automotive for the oil change While paying for the service the service writer at the front desk had a huge list of issues he claimed need urgent attention on my car, and an outlandish price to address them. The funny thing is I just had almost all these items done at my other mechanics shop. JP informed me that my brake pads were nearly non-existent, but my other mechanic said they still had 50% pad left. Hmmmmm I wonder who is telling the truth here........follow the money. And on top of this JP didn't even put enough oil in my engine. I had to go buy another quart 2 weeks later when my oil light came on. I'll just drive my JP Automotive from now on. Trust is a major issue when it comes to my car. read more

Broke off the girlfriend"s lug nut when working on vehicle and charged her for it. charged her 300$ to replace mirror. her son and i bought one for 55$and installed it with crappy tools in a half hour. anytime there is something wrong with her vehicles they change parts not malfunctioning. couldn't even replace an oil filter without it leaking. changed motor and then at same time replace a perfectly good radiator with a new one, which turned out to have a faulty radiator cap that required another visit to get that fixed. read more
