That didn't include tax and there was a waiting period where they would keep my band for a few days etc. When I called this place they said $35 and NO TAX!!! My husband and I purchased our wedding rings with J Rankin in 2017. As our wedding date was weeks away and my band had not been selected, John and team were so kind to have rings brought in. He suggested a lovely rose gold band and just 1 day before our ceremony the ring was ready for me. Last month, I noticed a smaller diamond had come missing on the band of my engagement ring due to a broken prong. John took the ring for repair and by the end of the week the ring was ready for pick-up. I noticed a slight anomaly with another smaller diamond and without hesitation, John and team offered to keep the ring for repair. I was without my ring for several weeks but upon pick-up not only was my ring sparkling like new but there was no charge for the repair and was given a gift card. I don't know what store everyone else went to, but my experience with J. Rankin (and John Rankin himself) was nothing short of a nightmare. My boyfriend and I went to browse engagement ring styles, as my mother had gotten her ring resized here, and I was hoping for the unique touch of a mom and pop shop. We were not ready to walk out that day with a ring, but my boyfriend wanted to get an idea of what I like. I was immediately struck by John's friendliness, at first comforting, and then off-putting. He started to get used-car-salesman-esque, talking only to me and ignoring my boyfriend's attempts to contribute to the conversation. While I was trying to tell him about the family heirloom that my BF will wear for his wedding ring, he interrupted, and filled every silence with smack-talk about his competitor. There was no chance of building an individual relationship if it didn't result in an immediate sale. Additionally, Mr. Rankin ruffled my hair, repeatedly touched my arm, and lingered on my "lovely" hand excessively. He also left another customer's jewelry (brought in for cleaning) on the counter for anyone to swipe. When we were leaving, he asked for our contact info. My boyfriend, who we both wanted to be the main contact for any and all ring decisions (as he wants to surprise me), put his number and email down-- Mr. Rankin crossed this out and requested my information. When we left, my boyfriend and I had a private conversation in which we agreed to keep looking elsewhere. BF left him a voicemail informing him that we would not be using his services, and that he could take a ring I'd shown interest in off of hold (he'd insisted on holding it, not us). The next day, Rankin called my boyfriend and I both at work, demanded to know why my boyfriend was "so insistent on controlling this process" and insisting that we "both seemed to have found the ring!" and then sent my boyfriend a passive aggressive email demanding to know why I wouldn't talk to him on the phone and what *exactly* my boyfriend didn't like about him. He also directly asked my boyfriend why he wouldn't let me talk to him, implying that he was controlling and preventing my happiness rather than handling a man who made me uncomfortable. We respected the "social distancing" and I was able to choose the right size for my ring. I was the only one in the store, and felt very comfortable in a coronavirus-free environment. I needed a local jeweler to re-dip my ring. I've had it for years and some parts are originally yellow gold and I prefer the whole ring to be white gold. Our family friends highly recommended this place and because it was close to home I went. I came in and we were talking about the ring and I mentioned how the ring has now permanently scarred my finger because they way it was designed. I have tried to fix this problem many times and no jewelers had ever come up with a solution. I think you can imagine my surprise when they said they could help me out! My fiance and I decided to come here because of an e-mail The Knot website sent me. J. Rankin was having a trunk show and we still needed to find his wedding band. So we thought, why not? First of all, Meg was very nice and welcoming. My fiance was interested in the men's Triton wedding bands. He tried several of them on and while they were all great, he didn't think he'd found the one. They took our information and said they would honor the trunk show price even if we came back later to make a purchase. Eventually he found one online with a celtic design that he wanted to try. This celtic ring wasn't in any nearby jewelry store to try on. So what did J. Rankin do? They ordered it from Triton just for my fiance to be able to try on! Actually, they ordered a couple different designs for him. Most places won't do this for you without you committing to purchase the ring. When the ring was in they e-mailed us to let us know and we went to try it on. I was so surprised by their excellent customer service in so many ways! And my fiance loved the celtic one. So we paid for it and went on our way. After testing out the size a bit more, he decided he needed a larger size. So back to J. Rankin we went. We ordered a different size and J. Rankin drop shipped the ring to our address so that we didn't have to make the drive to Edmonds a fourth time! What an amazing business! My closing comments are nothing but glowing for J. I only have praise to sing about J Rankin! I looked down one day to find a diamond had fallen out of my late mother's wedding ring (that I wear daily). I was relieved to hear my insurance with Statefarm would cover it, and they said J Rankin was in-network. I sent John an email straight away, saying my claim was coming in and asking about the process. His communication was very clear and he always replied swiftly. He made the process extremely easy for me, and explained options and steps along the way. He suggested all the things we needed to get my mom's ring up to speed and had the repairs done within 10 days! Not to mention he dealt with all the insurance company communication, which made it so easy for me. I went in to pick up the ring and was floored at how gorgeous it looked! I had gotten it cleaned professionally many times in the past, but never had it looked as exquisite as after J Rankin was through with it. I always just thought it was a darker-metal ring with deep crevasses and shadows... But apparently it is a super shiny, bright silver ring! The prongs were are also all fixed and uniform now, and you can't even tell which diamond is the new one. I can't stop staring at it. I will definitely be back for other jewelry needs in the future!! My fiancé and I went to 4 different jewellery stores before deciding on J Rankin to create our custom engagement ring! This was a very sentimental project, as I had hoped to use my mom's wedding ring set but it was stolen years ago. Since then, my mom had been collecting pieces that might be used to recreate it, my grandma donated her diamond from her ring, and my fiancé gave me the option to go the custom route when he proposed with a place holder ring. J Rankin is local, competitively priced, and provided excellent customer service. They walked us through the steps: sketch, CAD, wax mold, then creating the ring in rose gold and setting the stones. Their quote was all inclusive whereas other jewellers quoted the CAD and wax mold separately and really were overpriced compared to J Rankin. They even gave us the value of the gold from the pieces we were taking stones out of. When we came in for the sketch, it was beautiful and to size of each stone. It took about 3 weeks to get the ring. Now, they estimated more like 4-6 weeks, but there was some error on their part that they owned up to. My fiancé and I didn't get a CAD or wax mold. We got sketch and then ring. Which was kind of nerve wracking because the CAD and mold would have given us the opportunity to make changes before the final ring. However, the ring was beautiful and just like the sketch. So there were no issues for us going from sketch to final product thankfully! And when I asked if we were charged for the CAD and mold, J Rankin found out for us and refunded us the cost. So they took accountability for their error and made things right. They also recommended an insurer for the ring and we are looking into that. Overall, we were treated well, the price is competitive, and the quality is amazing. Rankin Jewellers are WONDERFUL! I had been looking for the perfect ring up and down the coast, SF, LA, Seattle, Portland, and every town in between, not to mention every website that had ever been printed in a wedding magazine. One day I stumbled upon the Rankin's store. John Rankin was so helpful and kind listening to my tales of woe and how the perfect ring just did not exist. (what a patient man) He listened intently showed me a few rings and took my information to send me some photos of a new line that was coming in. A few days later I got the photos and they were NOT it. AHHHHHHHHHH! But John did not give up and one afternoon he gave me a call to come down while they had a rep there that just may have exactly what I was looking for........and THERE IT WAS, my RING all sparkly and shiny and waiting for me to try it on. I am not sure who was more excited John and Meg (Johns wife and business partner) or me? This is my second posting of this review. My original review was apparently removed. I didn't think that could happen. I took my wedding ring in because the rose gold center band of the ring was getting loose, and I believed the solitaire diamond was missing. The plan was to repair the center band of the ring and install a diamond where the other one had been. While we were there, we asked them to resize my wife's wedding set. John called a few days later and explained that since the main portion of the ring is stainless, they couldn't install a replacement diamond. I then asked if his jeweler could repair the rose gold center band and fill in the empty hole with more rose gold. He said he would check and get back to me. A week or so later I got a call telling me my ring was ready. I went in to get it and noticed that the center band was repaired, though a little sloppily, and there was a raised area as if there was something still under it. How any jeweler would release a repair like that is beyond my understanding. Also while we were there I asked John if he could remove a few links from my watch. I explained that my wife had just presented it to me for our anniversary. In front of my wife, he said... "sorry it took a while. Sometimes cheap watches can be a struggle." When we went in to pick up my wife's ring, she tried it on and when she couldn't get it off, she was offered a squirt of windex to help get the ring off. None of the staff said anything with regard to the freshly resized ring not fitting! $495 later, and the only thing we have to show for our visits is a dis-approved of watch that now fits. I imagine if our rings or my watch came from this store my experience might have been different. But there is no excuse for hurting my wife's feelings the way he did. read more

My fiance and I were getting married in 3 months, and we hadn't bought our wedding bands yet. The Knot sent me a sponsored email, and normally I ignore those, but it happened to be an email about a trunk show in Edmonds so we decided to attend. It took us awhile to find the shop, so when you go, keep an eye out for it tucked away before you get to the main downtown shops. When we arrived, we were graciously greeted by MJ, who offered us a beverage and helped us get started looking at rings right away. A few other couples were in there, too, and the atmosphere was very relaxed. I described what I thought I liked, and she pulled out some amazing pieces for me to try on. The first ring was about 4 times what we could afford to spend, and the wonderful thing about this place is that you don't have to be embarrassed if it's out of your price range. She laughed with us and led us to a similar look at a much lower cost. John helped us find rings in our price range, too, and advised us to "sleep on it" before making the decision. He also sent me over to the window to get a good look at the diamonds in the natural light. We felt no pressure to buy right away and totally comfortable taking our time. We could have bought my ring right out from under the counter if we wanted. When it was my fiance's turn to try on bands, they worked with him to find a metal that wouldn't cause a reaction (like many, he's allergic to nickel.) There were many many rings for him to peruse. I can't believe how many choices they had! It seems like the employees know a lot about the metals and designs and helped my fiance find exactly what he was looking for. He picked out two that he liked, and John let us take a picture to send to his mom, who lives across the country, for approval. WOW! Talk about amazing customer service and care. While my fiance browsed the rings, MJ and I got distracted by pretty sparkly things together. She let me try on a variety of fun rings for the "future" as we put it. Their selection of jewelry is beautiful and various. Hey, guys, a great place to go to find a gift... hint, hint! :) We also met the designer, who is the perfect combination of artistic, practical, and knowledgeable. He was thoughtful and so realistic.
