Excellent coaching and instruction. Chill, pleasant vibe, although thankfully the coaches are also very safety-oriented and strict with rules - after all, bows and arrows are weapons! Our coach/instructor today was Asa. He was very helpful to both my friend Sammar and I. Sammar actually bought her bow and arrows at the Nock Point, and she told me how helpful the staff here was in making sure that the bow that she bought was a good fit for her. I own a bow and arrows, but they ended up not being the best choice for me to use for shooting archery today. I bought my bow and arrows in 2013 as props for photo shoots in 2013 and 2014, so I'm not shocked that they weren't suitable for archery action. So, I rented a bow and arrows today. I also bought a bracer for $15. My costs for today were around $50 for about 2 1/2 hours of shooting archery, but it will cost me around $35 when I go back, since I own the bracer now. Asa helped me adjust my form. I was struggling a bit with pulling the bow string of the first bow back far enough for my shots, so Asa replaced my 20-pound bow with a 16-pound bow, and the replacement solved this issue. He also adjusted the orange dot below the target to suit my patterns of shooting. He did the same thing for Sammar's orange dot. The orange dot helps with aiming. Our coach was quick to spot issues like this and to help effectively solve them. Sammar and I both ended up getting several bulls eyes, in part due to such excellent and attentive coaching. What a wonderful experience. Sammar and I will be returning for sure. Pictures 1 - 4 were taken today at The Nock Point. The target on the right of the photo was my target, and the target on the left of the photo was Sammar's target. Pictures 5 - 7 of me (and of me with my gladiators, LOL) were taken in 2013 and in 2014 at my photo shoots where I used my bow and arrows that weren't suitable for actually shooting archery today. Just wanted to share. With a name like Artemis (the Goddess Artemis is traditionally depicted with a bow and arrows), I was hoping I would be decent at this! Until today, I haven't shot archery since I was a child. I remember loving it as a kid and being pretty good at it, but I wasn't sure if I'd still be good at it as an adult. This is my second time here but first time actually learning how to shoot properly. David, the instructor for today was very knowledgeable and patient in his coaching. He carefully observed and help me adjust my form and gave me a genesis bow to try out without me even asking. That bow, along with his coaching significantly improved my accuracy. I went from shooting it all over the place to being able to get a consistent cluster and quite a few bullseyes. He also came back to check on me several times and adjust my bow so that I can get more speed. As we were checking out, he was gracious enough to answer all of our questions about the differences between the bows. I will definitely be back for more! read more

I'm addicted! Brought a group of friend with me to re-visit archery for my birthday. I haven't shot since my early 20s, so it's been at least 10+ years since I've picked up a bow. So coming here and trying target shooting felt like riding a bike. I was there for several hours and didn't want to stop. My friends were getting exhausted so I finally stopped shooting and explored some bow options. I've always wanted to explore this further but was nervous about the investment. Having gotten into jiu-jitsu, this last decade, I felt like this would help me with my chokes. & I have a little bit more body awareness than I did when I was younger so I felt like I could adjust my shooting a little more and get where I wanted with my aim. Everyone at the shop has been so helpful at every visit. and let's say I've been there A LOT this month. And everyone's helped me with my my indecision. From teaching me about the differences of the brands, how to string my bow, what my options were for tabs, to how to pack my bag. There was a point where I tired to get a cheaper bow, and they helped me get fitted, and then after shooting for an hour, I realized I made the wrong choice as my aim was drifting, Jim tried to help me out by adding some weights but at the end of the day, I went back to my first love I've initially had my eye on, and I haven't been able to get that glimmer out of my eye since. Ever since I've gotten fit with my bow, I've been itching to come back. Everyone at the range has been super friendly too, and helpful in asking questions to help me with the right fit, even compound shooters while I have my simple recurve. Overall, super recommend this spot to get in with a great community of people. Also if you get your bow here, you get complimentary repairs which ends up saving you tons of money in the long run, and they have amazing customer service & really assist you with your budget. They had fingertabs from 10-100$ I didn't realize there was such a range! I was introduced to The Nock Point a few months ago as a complete beginner at archery. Since then I've been coming back at least once a month and hoping to increase that frequency. The staff is extremely helpful and patient but also strict when they need to be (bows are still weapons after all). The lanes fill up quickly but there is a wait list to put your name and phone number so they can call you when a lane opens up. read more

I first contacted Nock Point Archery to order/purchase a left handed compound bow in Nov '24. I understood it could take a little time and most likely would not receive by Christmas. Ok, fine. I called in beginning of Dec to check on status, was told I would be called back....Nothing... I called end of Dec, again told they would check and would be called back.... AGAIN... Nothing.... I gave it one more try end of first week of Jan... was told that the Bear rep was attending a trade show and wouldn't be avail. Now end of January, never a call or status update, they clearly don't need my business and that's fine.... Went out for our first archery lesson, Dave and Jin were very accommodating and were able to get us consistently hitting our targets within minutes! The range is very clean and they are following all social distancing protocols due to COVID. Couldn't have asked for a better experience, staff was all extremely friendly and knowledgeable. I have not met one unfriendly person here. The staff are super helpful and so are all the regulars who use the range! I was so nervous when I first started coming here- I didn't know anybody at all, and kind of just wandered in after taking private lessons next door. Despite this, I have never experienced any elitism from this Archery Club at all! The staff are super willing to help out and give pointers, and so are the members who use the range regularly. Eventually, I started showing up consistently enough for them to start mentioning that I should look into getting my own equipment, and let me try out several bows (even some that are privately owned by the staff members) to get a feel of what I wanted. Everyone here always emphasizes how much they want to make sure that I could just shoot safely and have fun, and I appreciate that so much. They gave me the run-down of all of my equipment, showed me how to assemble and string my bow, and made me feel right at home. As for the pro shop itself- they mostly carry Hoyt, but they have some really solid equipment for beginner archers that doesn't break the bank too. One thing that I appreciate most is that they are strict about safety- quite a few people don't seem to understand that they need to be. These are weapons, people! They also make sure that all archers are wearing their masks, and have several stern warnings posted before you even enter the shooting range. I recently went out of my way to become a member to get 24/7 access to the range, but here's a tip for those who aren't yet: Either come *first thing* on Sunday morning, or the middle of the day on a weekday. This place fills up fast! So fast that I'm hesitant to write this review, in case it leads to more people showing up during peak hours and lessens the chance of me grabbing a lane. read more

Went here with my boyfriend because we both had the same day off of work! He used to come here when he moved to Seattle for college, but I've never been. I did archery sessions a few times in high school, but haven't touched a bow since. I was a little nervous, but excited to branch out and try something different. We had very clear instructions and help picking out our equipment, but then we pretty much got to try everything on our own. The staff were very welcoming and the regular customers that come to practice were super friendly. We felt very taken care of and included. The rules were straightforward and it was a great way to try something new without breaking our bank accounts. Now THIS is an archery shop! As someone who recently got into archery and got a first bow, I cannot speak highly enough about the Knock Point. My wife and I decided to head down to get my draw length adjusted on my first bow (used) and also to pick up some accessories. We spent 2.5hrs chatting, learning, etc. and ended up purchasing a bow for my wife. They let us shoot a couple different bows, adjusted my bow free of charge, gave my wife a mini lesson (free) and got her hooked up! We will absolutely be back as they made us feel welcome (as complete beginners) and didn't put any pressure on sales, etc. Don't even bother looking elsewhere! Tried archery for the first time here and had such a great experience! I went in on a weekend just walk-in and was shooting within 10 minutes. There are about 20 lanes and there were only a couple other groups there. The staff is incredibly friendly and took the time to teach me how to hold a bow and shoot and even gave me pointers later after letting me run with it a bit. The price is also very reasonable. It's $27.50 for a whole day pass which includes all the equipment (bow, unlimited arrows, arm guard, finger tab) so you can always leave the facility for a break and come back if you wanted to shoot more. The targets are distance adjustable too which is great for a beginner like me. Would definitely come back! read more

I've been meaning to write this review for over two months! The Nock Point is such a great establishment. My husband and I have been there a few times. Twice we went to rent bows/arrows and shoot on the lanes. The third time we came to purchase equipment from the pro shop. All three times were positive experiences. The first two times we came to rent supplies and shoot everyone there was friendly and accommodating. I was expecting they would just give us our bows, give us safely guidelines and tell us where to stand and that would be it. Instead, the took the time to make sure we had the right bows for our strength and abilities, broke down how everything worked, answered every question we had patiently, and checked up with us throughout our time there to give us pointers and tips. When we came in to buy our own bows, arrows and target, once again everyone was so pleasant and helpful. We didn't realize it, but we came in RIGHT before they closed (which we felt horribly about later when we realized what we had done). But no one said anything, they didn't rush us, and we walked away feeling confident and happy with our purchases. Ok. Yeah. So 30 minutes into trying out a little archery for the first time, I bought a bow, however, Saturdays are not the days I would recommend on coming here. It was just a little crowded. After waiting about 15 to get help, I found myself getting outfitted with a recurve bow, arrows, and the necessary accoutrement for my fingers and arms. I was then escorted to the next available open lane to fire away at target 5 yards away...then 10. Next thing you know, I'm trying out a compound bow. After that, I'm picking out my own recurve bow that I can use for target shooting...another toy. More importantly after the purchase, I have a membership to the range. The price of the membership is awesome because I get a key to the range for after hours on top of all sorts of other perks. This place appealed to me because it's cheaper than shooting guns and I don't have to blast my eardrums just to get a nice grouping. As I mentioned, Saturdays are really crowded, so if you want to get less hurried attention, Sundays might be your better bet. read more

This is a great place for beginner shooters! All the lanes were filled up by the time we were almost done shooting! The instructors were really funny and helpful. I could have stayed longer but my arm was getting tired and my friend was getting bored. It is a bit repetitive but it's still fun. I wish the prices were a bit lower though. read more

Some tips: The website said it was $35 for equipment + $10 for a lane, but we called and they said the price was $20 all together for each person. My boyfriend and I paid $40 in total for us both for two lanes, equipment, and an all-day pass. We came on Sunday around 1pm and it wasn't crowded at all. We only stayed about 2 hours (our arms couldn't take it any longer! xD) but we had a great time. The instructor (Chris?) gave us all the tips we needed to get started with a 5-minute run down. Everyone was nice and kept to themselves mostly. My boyfriend and I shot about 80-100 arrows I'd say, which was a lot to us. We could have stayed longer but got hungry and left, it was our first time. We will probably be back once our arms heal lol. Also ladies, please cut your nails! I came here with long, manicured nails and my index finger nail got cut off by the force of the bowstring on release. Luckily there was no blood but I really wish I had a nail trimmer. If you are a new archer, Nock Point is a must! I recently bought a compound bow online and "taught" myself to shoot with videos. Weeks later, my peep sight fell out when I was shooting in a National Forest, and I finally went to The Nock Point since I didn't have a press. David, an experienced bow tech, took one look at my bow and insisted on tuning it because I messed up the timing and draw length. He just wanted me to be safe and enjoy the sport. While he tuned my bow and cut my arrows to the right length, I obnoxiously asked a barrage of beginner questions; he politely answered every one. I'll only buy my equipment from The Nock Point in the future. Everyone at the indoor range is welcoming and eager to help new archers. I am now a member and am taking lessons with Next Step Archery, which is conveniently next door. COVID and range safety protocols are followed. I can't say enough about Nock Point, its staff, and patrons. I highly recommended it for anyone interested in archery! read more

Updating after my initial experience several years ago. I decided to get into archery in earnest, and prep for hunting season. The entire crew at Nock Point is fantastic, but particularly noteworthy is Scott, who spent almost 2 hours with me on initial bow setup answering questions and working through the accessorization! In the three weeks since I've bought my new bow I've managed to pop the peep sight out and smash the fletching on an arrow. Both problems Scott had fixed very quickly! Shout out to Nock Point. For my husband's birthday, we rented equipment and the range. An employee informed us of the range rules and told us to have fun. While shooting, we noticed an arrow with 3/4 of a fletching ripped off. Informed a second employee of the damaged equipment. Was informed its from people "using them wrong" and advised to shoot it until it fell off (first employee never instructed of correct way even tho we knew and practiced correct way). "Have fun." Same employee that apparently didn't care about the damaged equipment, advised us we were breaking range rules the first employee never mentioned. And was opposite of the original range rules. First employee said targets could be moved back if we agreed. Second employee said targets couldn't be moved back until we shot good enough. Husband has been an archery enthusiast and competitor for over 20 years. And has never been treated so poorly at an archery club, range, or shop. We will not be back. read more

Came out here with a friend to celebrate her birthday. We sort of just walked in, no experience whatsoever, and tried our hand at some archery. Being completely clueless, we were lucky to have staff members guide us through an abbreviated, basic lesson so we could just have fun and shoot for an hour or two. Everyone was really nice. I would love to comeback and try again! But maybe not very often-- since it gets kinda expensive without a membership (and I'm not sure I'm ready to commit to archery yet). After 2 failed trips to Cabellas for a bow string and a tip from Zarah, I came here for a string for my 60" practice bow. I showed them the photo I had on my phone and the info from the bow and they fixed me up with the proper size string and instructions. I have been tossing around the idea of picking up a bow ever since we bought our 2.5 acre property east of Seattle. I'm not 100% ignorant of bows having grown up in a hunting household, however my father and brothers used compound bows for deer hunting and I'm the vegetarian who only wanted a recurve to shoot in the backyard, not at bucks and does. This weekend I finally decided to go for it and headed for the Nock Point. A gentleman named Asa greeted me the moment I walked in the door. I explained that I was new and he started explaining a lot about bows to me. He had me test which eye was dominant and explained that I was cross-dominant (left eye dominant, right handed). We then picked out a bow and figured out the correct draw weight for me. Asa showed me how to load, fire, and aim the bow and how to put on and use the accessories. He also went over taking the bow apart and putting it back together again then had me repeat the process, and prepared a dozen arrows for me. Altogether he spent over 1.5 hours getting me all setup, and it only cost me $263. I was not expecting to get out of there for anything under $400. Asa and the other staff were really passionate and knowledgeable about archery and never made me feel bad about being new, in fact it was just the opposite; they obviously want to cultivate a passion within inexperienced archers. In my opinion that is the mark of someone who truly wants a long-term customer. I'll definitely be back once I outgrow my beginner bow! read more

I'm not an archery expert, but my brother is and he spent countless hours here on their indoor shooting range. I took a lesson here and the instructor was excellent. In the space of a couple of hours, he helped me feel successful and enthusiastic for the art. I even walked away with a slow-mo DVD of my shooting so that I could work on improving my form. I signed my son up for lessons. We did private lessons with Josh, who was very awesome! I highly recommend him. After 9 private lessons we signed my son up for classes, I was not as pleased. It was over crowded and very unorganized. One day they over booked classes and so there was approx 30 kids in one room trying to shoot. That day was a total waste as far as I was concerned. Also, I found the advanced female instructor rude to my son and very short spoken with us. The rest of the instructors were children themselves and I thought that was a little strange. I was so disappointed toward the end, I pulled my son out before the classes were over. Going back to private lessons! Overall, it is a great deal for the money. They supply the bow and arrows. You only need to buy a small safety kit. read more

It's a good place to practice your skill, hang out with friends or buy your bow. But DON'T start a membership here! I first started my membership in late April 2016 and ended it after half a year. It was a pleasant experience. Then in Jun 2017 I decided to come back again. This time I started a family membership in the middle of June. I was charged a full month fee on that day. Then I was charged a full month fee at the end of June again (for July). I asked them why and the owner of the place told me they would take care of it and refund it when I end my membership. Then I decided to end my membership at the end of December this year. I asked them at the beginning of December when I should notify them of cancellation and they told me to call at the end of December. So I called yesterday right after they charged me for January's fee and ask for a refund of Jan plus that half month of Jun. Someone called Jim returned my call today and said they cannot refund that half month. I asked then why not charged a pro-ratio rate for the first month. He said their system could not do that. But it definitely could do that when I first started my membership in 2016. I tried to argue but he hang up on me. I called back and told him I'm fine with not refunding that half month, but I would write down what happened on Yelp and Google. He said ok but nothing else he could do except for extending my membership for half a month - but I told them a month ago that I would leave at the end of December. This extra half month means nothing to me. Then another thing occurred to me. I thought I should let them know before I put it in my review so I called back again. Back in July I asked in store if I could change to individual membership and they said ok but the system was not working so they would do that later. So I left without watching them make the changes. I really trusted them at that time. However this change never happened. It was my fault that I didn't find the problem earlier and asked them to correct it so I didn't bother to ask for a refund. But this is just another example of how they did their work. And the interesting thing was during this phone call after knowing I was going to say this on Yelp and probably discussed with his boss, Jim told me they could give me that half month fee back. Lol. But what I want is not that 40 dollars. I just hoped they could honor what they said. I've been taking archery classes next door at Next Step Archery for almost two years and I love the coaches there. Some of them work part time for the Nock Point and they are very nice people. I practiced in the Nock Point a lot and bought all my gears there. But I am very very disappointed this time and want to alert anyone who want to have a membership there, think twice and definitely don't start in the middle of a month. read more
