I have membership at J Sterling's. My regular massage therapist has been off for a couple of months and I hadn't been back since she left. It had been very difficult finding a therapist that I liked and actually helped with my muscle tightness or my soreness. However, this changed. This past week I made an appointment with Shannon and she was amazing. Deep tissue is never fun, one might add it hurts a bit sometimes but Shannon was amazing and worked her magic, I walked with a tight back and neck, I left feeling great. I came as my sister recommended the spa based on her great experience and massage. I was skeptical at first, since I had been disappointed by other spas in the past couple of years, but so glad I gave it a try! The spa is clean, nicely decorated, in a quiet area and not too cold. You are welcomed as you walk in and everyone there is nice and attentive. I found a great therapist (Sadiel) but he is based on the Winter Park location. Let me first start off with Donnee is amazing. I have been a client for years, but when I seen the new membership option I jumped on it. The membership is $45 for a $50 credit. Perfect. Came to use it for deep tissue. On the website for booking it states $55 member, $60 guest. Now to me that means $55 - $50 member credit for $5 up charge:balance. They charged me the guest price of $60 vs the $55 which is not a huge amount but not how the website projects it. I did ask and the explanation to me made no sense. Essentially they charge five dollars more for the service at checkout as guest so the $5 credit for membership is essentially nullified. There should be clearer details of how they're applying it and I also think they should remove the pricing that states membership price if they're not going to honor the membership price. read more

Leandra is the BEST! I booked a massage with her based on a previous reviewer and was so impressed. I had a combo massage focused on some deep tissue for pain alleviation. Immediately after she worked on my neck and back, I felt so much lighter. She was communicative without being chatty during the massage. You can of course add on special treatments like aroma therapy, hot stone massage, etc. But for such a great special you get a light 60 minute massage. The therapists are all great, professional and talented. I make sure to go after every trip. Travel can really do a number on the body. Stress in the shoulders and carrying around all the luggage. You can customize your massage to focus on areas that bother you. read more

Having been home through the pandemic, went the other day for my first massage in over a year. Pure heaven. Stephanie was my masseuse and she was excellent! She listed to my needs and focused on them. It was just a wonderful thing :) I didn't even realized how tense my shoulders had been until afterwards when I felt so much relief. She is a gem and I plan on becoming a regular with her. The facility is spotless and decorated very nicely. The spa associates at the desk - in my case, Hillary & Tracy, were both wonderful also and very helpful. I booked my appointment online for the first time and that went smoothly. I have had 3 massages at J Sterling in as many weeks due to chronic neck pain. The initial pricing was very reasonable which drew us in and my first massage was a cranio sacral due to my being under 12 weeks pregnant. It was pretty good and relaxing but revealed how bad my neck was so I scheduled a trigger point for a week later and left feeling just awful. The pain kept me up all night but I figured it was just working through the knots and worth trying a prenatal once I reached 12.5 weeks. This is where things went more south. I booked a Friday which is a week day in all calendars that I'm familiar with but J Sterling views it as a weekend day and up charges $10. In addition to that they add what women will know as a pink tax to the prenatal making it another $10 more even though it's really half a massage since it is one side of the body only. Many other therapists and clinics actually charge less for prenatal due to this. My massage therapist was 15 minutes late in starting (6:15 for a 6:00 appointment) and ended the massage at 7:05 so I got cut 10 minutes but charged the entire hour. The massage was overall very weak and a waste of money sadly and to add to it i got over charged an extra $20 when they said my card didn't clear but it said approved on the reader. I even logged into my bank to show the pending charge of $80 which should have been $69. They weren't satisfied and would not refund the overage but instead charged separately the $69 to my on file card and told me to keep an eye on the bank. Talk about ruining any relaxation I may have had. The overcharge was refunded subsequently which shows it had cleared and they had to refund. All in all I am not sure I'll go back. I've had massages from a few different places in Orlando, and I think J Sterling is my new favorite. I was a frequent visitor to Spa Privee on Orange Ave before they closed. Since then I'd been looking for a new place. I found J Sterling on Groupon and took a chance. I'm glad I did! They are open 7 days a week - most nights late, until at least 8pm. They have three locations. I chose the Altamonte spa and was able to make a same-day appointment with no problems. The receptionist is very pleasant- always nice to speak with someone happy to do their job :-) She did remind me that I would be charged the service fee if I had to cancel, since it was a same-day appointment. They have a 24 hour cancellation policy. I bought a Groupon for a one hour hot stone massage with pineapple exfoliation and aromatherapy. That was the most relaxing hour I've ever spent! Their customer service is very quick! As a new client, I arrived 15 minutes early to fill out paperwork, which actually took only 5. They have their paperwork on tablets via Google forms, which is convenient! Once I finished my paperwork, I only waited about 5 minutes longer. Each room has a different theme, which makes things interesting. I was in the "Lakes" room, which had waterfalls and streams painted on the walls and a darker, cooler feel, though that could've been the dimmed lights. I noticed a few other rooms, like Forest and Beach. My technician, Polly, was kind and accommodating. She asked if this was my first massage - it wasn't - and kindly reminded me how to prepare myself. She gave me plenty of time to do so and made sure to knock to see if I was ready. As for the massage, I couldn't have asked for a better hot stone experience. I felt like I got two massages in one! I chose lavender for my aromatherapy. Polly started out with lotion and gentle kneading on my back and shoulders. She asked me to let her know if the pressure got to be too much, but it was perfect. Even though it was a relaxation massage, I felt my shoulders and spine loosen up and even "crack" a little. I don't get regular massages, so it was liberating. When my back and shoulders were loose, she moved on to each arm, and then each leg. I especially liked the gentle stretches she did when she got to my knees and calves. It felt a little bit like yoga :-) Each time I got a dose of lotion, so everything was even. Phase two was the exfoliation: a foot scrub with a definite pineapple scent. I don't typically use scrubs, so it was a little jarring at first, but I enjoyed it. A day later, my feet are still soft! Phase three involved the hot stones. Definitely the best part of the experience! Polly heated a handful of stones for each section: back/shoulders, arms and legs. The heat from the stones seemed to seep in to warm me from the inside out. It was fantastic! Each time Polly applied a stone, and checked to make sure the temperature was okay. I appreciated the confirmation. I'm sure she would have adjusted the temp if I had asked, but it was just right. She started with my back and shoulders, moved on to each arm and hand, and then each leg and foot. For the last part of the massage, she used them on my neck and shoulder blades. At the very end, she even gave me a short scalp massage! It was a nice ending. I was relaxed all the way to the roots of my hair. I'll definitely be back. When I made the appointment, the receptionist asked if I'd already bought my Groupon. The offer was basically half off for the services I received. Since I had, I chose to stick with it. Apparently, the spa will honor those prices if bought directly from J Sterling. I felt like it was something I should've known before I purchased, but I didn't know to ask, and she *did* mention it. My boyfriend and I booked the Valentine's Day couples' package and everything from the start was wonderful! The receptionist was polite and friendly. We got there early to fill out our forms. The ladies who did our massages were wonderful. They talked to us and made us feel very comfortable. The massage and food scrub was excellent! She really hit my sore spots perfectly. I love the ambiance of the rooms, too, hot towels, and smells. It was lovely! We stayed in the lounge after for cheese and a glass of wine, plus a bottle to take home! We've already agreed we're going back. Regular massages are $35 for an hour and $80 for couples! You can add on extras to your massage too. I'm excited to return! read more

3rd time coming here in 10 days. 1 hour massages starting at only $35! Very nice ambience like a proper day spa. Even the Asian massages in Orlando are priced at $80 an hour so this is a steal, just have to remember to tip properly. With a couples package (at $80) they treat you each to a glass of wine and crackers as well.
