I've visited Spavia Day Spa a few times now and have enjoyed both experiences. I first tried the hour massage. It was nice that they give you a robe and have a relaxation room before your service. My second visit I got a standard facial. She customized what I needed based on my needs and did extractions too. They also massage your arms and hands for 15 minutes or so. There's lockers and a shower if you want to use it afterwards. Everyone is very nice and everything is very clean. My brother booked this for me as a surprise so I unknowingly went in with a full face of makeup. My makeup wasn't removed thoroughly so the products were applied to not completely clean skin. I filled out a form upon arrival that asked me if I used certain products and I marked that I used retinol. During my facial a mask was applied that felt burning and when I said it was burning she asked me if I used retinol. During the facial, 5 random little extractions were done. This is more of a very slow face massage than anything productive skincare wise. Didn't do a scalp massage but ran fingers through my hair a couple times just enough to make my clean hair greasy. Some cheap old smelling gloopy lipgloss was applied on top of my lipstick that hadn't been removed to finish off the treatment. I left with crusty mask still on my nose and all in my hair line and on my forehead. My brother pre paid before I came out so I didn't bother even complaining but when I was asked how it was I said "it was alright" and the employee at the counter didn't care to follow up so I just left. I went in and had a facial, and my eyebrows done. To say that Keishla was wonderful was an understatement! The spa was very nice I got a super soft robe to put on. They had tea and water while I waited for my session to start. I swear it was so relaxing and felt so good I walked out looking younger, and so relaxed. I had a few services and was sooo happy with the service. Everything was lovely and the prices were reasonable. You are able to request to chat or not, the music you want and the scent youd like to use. They respected all of my choices. My massage was excellent and i also had a sugar scrub. The only issue that i wasnt thrilled with was that the sugar was wiped off of me with towels which took tome away from my service and also didnt feel that great. Because there was no shower in the room, sugar was all over the floor crunching and i wasnt able to have serenity. read more

However, my issue was the front desk girl that was present on December 7 at opening. As somebody who is the face of the spa, you would think that someone would be very professional and at the very least kind or nice. She was very brief with me after checking me in, cut me off after I asked more than one question, and didn't have the basics of customer service at all and just didn't seem like she even wanted to be there. As someone who carries stress in my neck and shoulders, finding an amazing massage therapist has been a game changer. Regular massages have helped not only to cope with discomfort and pain but over time have helped me not even get to that point. Spavia is great a option for anyone looking for both quality and convenience in a relaxing spa setting. It's located in a plaza with other great businesses, so it's also a great spot to make a day of it with a pedicure and brunch after your massage. I hesitate to share the names of my favorite therapists because they're already booked solid because they are so popular but Chi gives the most amazing facials and Lera is an expert massage therapist. They're both incredibly warm, kind, helpful, and very skilled at what they do. My husband goes to Liz for massage and she is the literal sweetest human. He's particular about massage and she's extremely accommodating and skilled. Cannot recommend Spavia enough. Where do I start? The membership has great value and I love the atmosphere and ambiance. I've been frequenting this spa for about a year, mostly for massages to address chronic lower back injury and for recovery from heavy gym (lifting) sessions. The Himalayan salt stone massage is an experience that everyone should enjoy at least once. But the real gem is a new addition to the masseuse team, and her name is Valeria. She's a petite masseuse but NOT to be underestimated. I'm hesitant to let the secret out on her but she deserves a serious shoutout. Within the first 90-seconds of my massage, I was thinking, "Oh sh**, this is going be amazing!" but after my 100-minute massage with Valeria, I'm pain free for the first time in probably 2 years. Literally life changing. From her retrieving me from the waiting area, I love that she confirmed the service and allotted time. She inquired as to if I had preferences, areas of focus and preferred areas to avoid. From there, I let her work with medium pressure and she found (and released) any areas of tension. She also gave me feedback after the massage on areas of tension, and advised me on how to stretch before lifts to improve blood flow. I have just come from one of the best massages of my life. Jo, a popular choice for good reason, was lovely and very professional and he helped ease the considerable amount of tension I keep in my shoulders. The check-in process was quick and easy. I had not completed my forms online beforehand, so instead was handed a tablet which took less than a minute to complete. The space itself was attractive and the on-site team very friendly. The changing space is just right (lockers and shower included) and I am in love with the yummy Spavia robes. My 1-hour session was dreamy. So good, in fact, that I've booked my next appointment already. Plans are available to help patrons save some money and I would absolutely recommend a trip to Spavia to make you feel yummy (if you can get past how the name sounds a bit like an artificial sweetener - lol). read more

Thieves! I visited this spa with a gift certificate given to me for my birthday. As I was rushing out of the door afterwards (because my services started late and pushed into my next appointment) the receptionist asked something about the gift card can cover the next service if I signed up for some package. I told her I didn't have time to fully listen, but whichever package was cheaper and send me an email of the details. Later that night I read the email and it was for a membership at $119/month! I called the next day to cancel and was told the manager would have to cancel it once they returned to work. I gave it a few days to see if the refund would process and nothing! Called again and was placed on forever hold. Called again and spoke to a manager, who told me she had to look into it and would reach back, never did. I called again and was placed on forever hold again! Called multiple times (even recorded how they would answer and hang up it just place me on hold). I emailed them, no response, I even disputed the charges with my bank, but the receipt I thought I was signing as I ran out (digital gray box) was the non-voidable contract! So in total I paid $472 ($115 gift card + $119 for 3 months) for getting one massage! I've never seen any establishment so adamant about stealing someone's money! I've tried two different services at Spavia; a facial and a massage. Let me just say as soon as you walk in you feel a sense of relaxation. When they call you in for your service you're led into locker room equipped with robes, sandals, a changing station, a shower, etc. It has every toiletry you can think of and then we you head into the second waiting room for your service you can enjoy a very relaxing warm neck pillow. Facial: the facial was so amazing I feel asleep. I think that's how you know it was a very relaxing, comfortable experience. My skin was glowing afterwards and felt so hydrated something I definitely needed. They gave me some aftercare products to use and my esthetician really was thorough on explaining what each product is used for and what it does/targets. Highly recommend getting a facial a Spavia! Massage: My massage was good. I will say I had higher hopes for it since my facial was fantastic but then again it's a completely different service. I have pain in my lower back and shoulders and I asked for that to be targeted but the whole 60 was basically dedicated to my arms and legs, so kind of a waste of my telling them where my pain was. This was just a regular sports massage so maybe next time I'll try a different service like the hot stone but I've definitely had better massages before. Im not going to give up hope though because this place goes above and beyond with their customer service so I do highly recommend going and trying them out! I loved it so much, I joined their membership. Massage: My massage was done by Christina, the massage lead. She was FABULOUS! I thought she went over on time because she took a good amount of time on my trouble areas, but we were right on schedule. It was seamless, not rushed at all. She really knew what she was doing, I've had a number of massages. Her strength was great in some areas and care in others. I felt like she was really in tune with me. I was beyond impressed Eye lash extensions: This was my first set ever! Renee was really gentle, kind, and informative. I enjoyed the experience and feel so beautiful with my new lashes! On a separate note, both Christina and Renee spoke highly about the owner, sharing ways the owner has gone above and beyond especially during Covid. This spa is lacking in many ways. I have multiple examples of why you should take your business elsewhere ESPECIALLY bc of the lackluster for the prices they charge. Main issues: Customer service, a nice ambiance and friendly staff. First of all - if you're gonna have a spa in winter park at least make it look and feel upscale, relaxing and refreshing. The colors are dark and dingy and there are no refreshments - not even water. The girl at the front has an attitude and is super snarky. When I was running 5 min late (and was a member so they had my reoccurring business ) she gave me attitude and told me that my service already started as I walked in the salon. I'm a busy fully time mom so I come there to relax not to stress. She didn't offer to give me a robe or change she just brought me back to the room and then my massage ended 10 minutes early!!! Second issue: the quality of service received is sub par. When specifying deep tissue I got a super soft pat down rub and was charged $100 for it. Third and most important : when I called 3 months ago to stop my membership they continued to charge my card. I wasn't aware until someone called asking if I wanted to schedule a service. I told them I canceled the service 3 months ago and the girl told me that they don't have proof essentially calling me a liar and refusing to refund my card for a service I did not receive and a transaction I did not authorize. She was argumentative and rude. It's quite apparent that their customers don't come first and they would rather damage their reputation and future business to make themselves right. Either way I'm putting a stop payment on a fraudulent charge. I mean if they are trying to force people to come use their service then that speaks for itself.... Very disappointed with this place and wouldn't recommend to anyone. * to the managers comment below : does it matter if you find proof that I called to cancel? I called and spoke with the front desk staff to cancel the membership because not only was I underwhelmed with the spa - we moved. Period. And I don't know how talking over a customer to prove their wrong point is being polite. Ugh. Spare me your worthless political correct response to save face. We both know I was treated wrongly and rudely over the phone and a comment to publicly save face for you won't stop me from telling all my friends to avoid this customer serve devoid establishment. They'll trap you into a poorly explained contract for massages then cancel your appointments last minute, switch out your masseuses, send you 20-30 emails about your account not being paid (despite it having been paid) and then try and enforce the contract when they've clearly not upheld their side of the bargain. I had booked a massage for Finance on (7/22/23) 2 weeks prior, to help alleviate stress after what I knew would be a stressful two weeks. The one thing that she could look forward to. However all of that was ruined after she arrived at the Spa only to be turned away. Despite email and text confirmations the system had apparently not worked. On top of that they only offered to reschedule a week out. Which while not great would have been better than nothing. Spavia is a great little spa nestled in a fun area of Winter Park. Liz is the best massage therapist I have ever been to. She can tell where the tight spots are even when I don't realize they exist. Her background in sports medicine is really helpful when I'm dealing with pulled muscles or muscle cramps. She can apply any range of pressure, even deep tissue, and she's the sweetest person in the world. The staff are always very accommodating and nice, and they make you feel like they are expecting you, and they know you. Top notch! read more

I've gone to Spavia a few times and it gets better each time. From the time you walk in, you are made to feel welcomed. Crystal who is amazing will find a way to make sure that you get what you need, the newer receptionist member, Natasha is polite and professional. My massage (I'm very passive here), Mark has the hands of a technician that can find every knot and release that tension. To say he's amazing would be an understatement. Although, a bit of a schlep for me, it is worth it. Also, there private waiting room with warm neck roll, robe and slippers add's that professional touch. You don't feel like you're on a conveyer belt where you're just a piece of meat. Finally, the shower, mints and lotion is a great touch to the spotless locker area. I marked medium pressure on my online form and also told her a medium Swedish massage when she asked me in person. She used lots of elbows and when she found knots she went in HARD. She told me she found knots to get out and it was very painful, even on my neck she used a very deep pressure. As the client I trusted her professional opinion because she said she was getting the knots out. It has been a few days since then and my back feels like it is completely bruised and my neck muscle has a shooting pain when I turn a certain way. I have had many massages and they have never "gotten the knots out" with their elbows and a deep pressure unless specifically asked for by the client, as most people find this painful. I'm disappointed I didn't tell her to stop, but at the time I was trusting it was something that had to be done based off the concern I told her, which was that I get migraines very often. read more

I made an online massage appointment for Michael via their functionally less than stellar "app"; the app sucks. My wife receives reminder calls, I receive calls and specifically we confirm with Michael. Today, three hours before my appointment I get a call explaining that "some name but not Michael" was running a little late. When I corrected the name, it got quiet, put me on hold and said it's not Michael it is someone else. I ask about later this week and the best they could offer was after 7pm on Friday night. I jump on Yelp and see how poorly the responding owner / manager deals with complaints as well. I guess that's not part of their franchisee training. Too bad as every bit of this is a learning and training opportunity for any business; especially retail services. We've had some good treatments there and some that were mediocre. Elizabeth's facial was amazing! Overall our take is they need to button up and polish their customer service and dump their app. If you want to come across as a spa you need to up your game, otherwise you're Super-Clips mall level. I was having breakfast yesterday with my barber and he pretty much said the same thing about his services and experience there and that was before today's issue. ******************** UPDATE 12/14/18 The owner of the franchise contacted me immediately, apologized and explained there had been an internal lack of communication and failure to follow procedure. Exactly as I had suspected, at the direction of the therapist, Michael, I had the appointment with, the front desk staff switched me off to someone else and then deceived me, essentially accusing me of NOT making the appointment with Michael even though I did. Shame on those involved for deceptive practices with a client; they should be reprimanded and given a week or two off without pay. NONE of them bothered to fess up and apologize; only the owner and manager. As a small business owner myself for 40 years, I could tell the spa owner was being sincere and transparent. She suggested I try therapist Flor and I'm glad she did. Flor was amazing and truly talented with a great feel and touch. She did such a great job, I scheduled another appointment this weekend and another for next week. As for the original therapist, Michael, his reputation and recommendations are all excellent and he's in high demand. Whatever happened, he should have at least manned up and called to apologize. It's not like I'm mad or irate but whatever happened that day surely was disappointing and he left a mess for the owner and manager to clean up behind him. Based on the owner and manager's sincere efforts to make this right, I have changed my rating from Two Stars to Four Stars and look forward to continuing there as a client. read more
