I went mainly for a new style and some help with my bangs. I had gotten my bangs cut by a different stylist at another salon and they weren't what I asked for, so I wanted some help from the salon I thought I could trust. First, when I got my hair washed I was expecting the full service, like a hair mask and hand massage, but for some reason I didn't get that. Second, I asked for a shag cut with lots of layers in the back and my baby bangs to be fixed and styled differently. What I got was uneven bangs and long layers. My stylist didn't know how to help me fix my bangs and repeatedly tried to style them, but I still left with my bangs sticking up and super choppy like my 4 year old sister cut my bangs. Instead of experimenting on my hair, I would've been much happier if my stylist told me she can't achieve the style I wanted. After, I was embarrassed so I just paid and left hiding my bangs. When I got home sobbing, my mom called the salon asking if I could get my service refunded. They called back saying that I could only get $20 back. They also mentioned that I was the one that came in with uneven bangs. We are very disappointed with how this salon manages these complaints because we at least expected them to offer to fix what was done to my bangs. I came to get my hair cut to boost my confidence, but I left feeling even worse than I did before. Me and my family will not be returning to this salon. TLDR; unprofessional, inexperienced stylists. Save yourself 11 hours…read moreI am going to try and be as transparent as possible, but this is unlike anything I've experienced. I have had my hair done countless times, every color you could think of. Attached is a picture of a stylist in Suwanee (Salon 124) who charged $345, just for price comparison's sake. Originally I was quoted $260 at my consultation. I hadn't cut or dyed my hair in 2 years. My ends were an auburn brown and the top was purely my natural hair dark blonde/light brown hair. I wish I had taken pictures as the whole ordeal went on but description will have to do. My stylist was Marissa, who stated she had 2 years experience. I went in on the first day and left with bad bleach banding. She had not used foils (as originally planned) and it was obvious to even me, that it had been bleeding through my hair. (I have very fine hair, but a lot of it) I leave having paid $338 (with tip) in the end. Very unhappy and wearing only a bun. Flash forward to the day she said she would fix it free of charge. She attempts to do foils, doesn't apply nearly enough bleach and the tiger stripes are worse! She goes in again. No dice. Now my hair has been super processed. I had been very kind up to that point and started to point out spots she was missing that I could see in the front. Then she leaves again, only for me to find more strands where the center is brown while the tops and bottoms are blonde. I at this point get frustrated and call to the other stylists to come fix it as I no longer want her bleaching my hair. The owner comes over and seems almost irritated that I am now voicing concern, granted at this point I was losing all my patience. She starts saying how I should have said something sooner, as if I hadn't been telling her stylist what strands she was missing, returned for a correction and been there for hours. She states that she hasn't been on the floor the whole time. Quite frankly, every salon I've been to the stylists discuss with higher ups on the approach. I find it hard to believe she was unaware of the struggle going on. Giving her the benefit of the doubt, when I do finally raise my voice and not just show the stylist how to do her job, she tries to deflect blame to me and my hair. She was very disrespectful, especially as I'm getting worried my hair is just going to be doomed. Eventually it seems she realized that I am absolutely in the right and started foiling my hair. As she lifted up strands from the back, I couldn't help but laugh at how bad it was. She admitted it was rough but came up with an excuse about my hair being at fault. She did in the end provide me with a full refund and fixed it to the pictures you see now. It is by no means perfect or at all what I asked for when I came in. (a bit of lightness) You can see where the two big racing stripes on the strands are even after 4 corrections. Save your money and time. (all the other reviews about attitude and treating her receptionist, 100% true)

It just simply didn's work out, rather than highlights (which to us being from Canton) means light streaks, she came home with beige hair and no perceptable highlights that either of us could detect. My wife was in tears and needless to say I was extremely disappointed. Withe the hair being so light we will likely need to wait a year for it to grow our completely so we can start over. So we spent $120 and my soft hearted wife even tipped her. We learned a couple of lessons here. 1. Get recommendations from people you trust. and reviews are helpful. and 2. Understand the limitations of people you are dealing with. There are no substitutes for experience and a careful approach with expectactions discussed. And as a bonus lesson, be wary if an appointment is too easy to get.

I've never been given anything but excellent service from everyone, especially Lucy and Nicole. The entire place is absolutely spotless and even the restroom is beautiful and filled with the little things one might need. The temperature is always comfortable as is the lighting. The equipment is up-to-date and effective. And last but not least, the decor is a mix of modern and bohemian, something quite appealing. I'll stay loyal to this shop for years to come, I'm sure.

It's such a hard decision to start over with a stylist and it's always a scary experience! At Jyl Craven, from the second I walked in the front door, I felt welcomed and comfortable. The ladies working the front desk were so sweet and welcoming, there was a cute little retail area to browse while waiting on your stylist and it's just an overall good feeling. Then, I met my new stylist, Morgan! I was randomly assigned a stylist when I made my appointment online but I'm so lucky that it was her! From the second she greeted me in the lobby she was bubbly, excited and so ready to get to know me!! I talked to her about some hair concerns I have and overall just explained why I was there, to meet a new stylist and get a quick trim for now. She was incredible, we chatted the entire time about so many great things and she just made me feel comfortable. I highly recommend trying to get an appointment with her! As far as the services go, the hair washing station is beautiful and more comfortable than any salon I've ever been in. The chairs they use while you're getting your hair done are also top of the line. And back to Morgan for a second, but that wash and scalp massage was the best I've ever received. I could have napped in that hair washing station I was so comfortable! Overall, I had a wonderful experience both in the salon overall and specifically with Morgan! However there was a pricing discrepancy, a big deal I was told the price would be on price $300 the price they charged me was $400 something that I was not prepared for, I love the stylist, I do not think she and I had a miss understanding, I know Jyl did the price increase they keep saying who told you the price everyone at the counter told me the price , along with the stylist. I would have been a loyal customer for ever. Now I never plan to go back... such a shame if anyone has had the same experience, I would love to know.
