I wanna stay neutral with this review because J X pop is more of an authentic karaoke business than karaoke in a bar. With that said, it was very challenging to find modern songs as there were numerous songs that were not in English and some of the English songs were actually in a totally different style than what we are used to hearing here in the US. So if you are expecting karaoke like you would have in the local bar this is not the place. The karaoke rooms are large with plenty of couches and seating, there's a big screen that displays videos and the words, you're given two microphones and there's some fun lighting that happens. During our time there the air conditioner was not working in our room so it became really hot, but they moved us to another room which was really nice. We were there during karaoke happy hour which was $15 per person per hour so it does add up pretty quickly. Also, we were there on a Friday evening and we were the only ones there, when I asked the attendant at the front desk if this is normal, she said they're not very busy on the weekends but during the week they're very busy with the Asian population. They do sell alcohol, but it's a very limited menu, they did offer a magnum of Cook's champagne at $38 a bottle, which was steep, but what made it not worth it was the fact that it was room temperature. I don't think this is an establishment I will visit again, but I do wish them well as they put a lot of thought and money into their karaoke establishment. read more

Visiting our son for Thanksgiving and we all decided to go out for some karaoke. This place is the private room type of karaoke and not your bar like karaoke. Fortunately, they were open and the lady in the front was very nice. A bit of advice for the English song selection is to always "reset" the selection process by going to "song list". From there the alpha keypad will appear, but don't leave it on default, which is "first word". Change it to "ABC". Doing so will open up WAY more artists, even if you know the bands name. For example, If you were on "first word" and you were looking for Journey songs, they wouldn't show up, but via "ABC" you can select the actual artists. Anyway, had a blast. Ended up with some sake and about 3 hours of fun. Definitely will be back next time we are in town. read more

Been here a couple of times over the past year. For those who are used to bar (open mic) karaoke, this is a bit different. This is the kind of joint where you bring a group of friends and rent out an actual room by the hour where you can belt out tunes with each other. The rooms can comfortably seat small groups (3-5). Think of it like renting out a private living room couch and coffee table. There's a system with a touch video monitor in the corner where you can search and choose songs, and you get a couple of wireless mics. The speakers are bangin' and the videos are played on a large screen so it's easy for anyone to sing along. There are some accent furnishings and disco-ball lighting. The staff are super courteous and chill. There are drinks available. Not a huge selection, but enough to have a good time. Yeah, you can try sneaking in your own, but it's a jerk move. These kinds of places are rare, and I think that the overall experience is worth supporting them by buying what they have. As far as the music, it looks like there's a ton of J-pop and K-pop, but I will echo another review in saying that their selection of US tunes is a bit wonky. Additionally, the database that they have is difficult to search. There are multiple ways to do searches, and there is a good chance that a song you might randomly stumble upon while looking for something else would not be directly searchable with any of the key words, artists, or other criteria that you'd try to enter into the search bar. Don't expect for their US selection to be like searching youtube. There are a lot of hot tunes, but there are also many artists that are totally missing, or you might find a group you like and then find that all the available tracks are super obscure ones. Some of the videos are the official music videos, but then you'll also see some randomly generated ones which can be a bit comical depending on the song. For example, think of some Euro stock 90's footage of some blonde model, strolling along a river front and turning to look contemplatively at the horizon, then some shots of river tour boats, to something like Talking in Your Sleep by The Romantics. Despite the misgivings, it's DEFINITELY worth a try, especially if you've considered bar karaoke but been put off by the idea of singing to a bunch of randos. It's way easier to belt it out like you might in the shower or the car when you're just with a small group of friends, and that's really what it's about: Having crazy fun singing well (or horribly) along with your ride-or-dies. Both times that I've been there, time flew by quick and we got out of there late, more because we knew it was getting late than because we actually wanted to hang up the mic. Only private room karaoke in the Eugene area. Pretty weird collection of American songs but the sound system is great. Can't bring your own bottles but they seemed fine if you bring your drinks in hydroflasks. Good value for the money read more

Great place for karaoke! They have a great system with a lot of song selections: karaoke favorites and new songs. The rooms are in great condition and can accommodate both small and big groups. So happy there is a place for private room karaoke in the Eugene/Springfield area. Thanks for a great night! read more
