I can undoubtedly say I do not recommend Jack and Rose florist. When my husband and I started looking for vendors we decided to go with them because the reviews seemed decent and the prices were unbeatable. After I had already made my first payment I found negative reviews but decided to give them the benefit of the doubt. I kept telling myself even if they weren't my dream flowers they would still look nice. Boy was I wrong. Let's start from the beginning. From the very first meeting Patty sits there and talks about everything and anything under the sun except your flowers. She'll tell you all about her nieces and how many years she's been in the business. I came with Pinterest boards of ideas she did not take 1 picture as an inspiration for what I wanted. She said yes of course to everything I asked for while scribbling away on a pad. I'm not a florist. I don't know flower names. She's rattling off names telling me it's what is in the picture and to trust her. Then she goes to the back to talk to jack about prices. Comes back with a contract. Surprise cash only business and the atm in the shop. Fast forward to my second meeting I wanted to cry. She shows me the "mock up" of my centerpiece and It is hideous. I asked for no green there were green leaves everywhere. I asked for big roses and small roses, hydrangeas, shades of white and blush pink. It looked like a centerpiece for Barbie. I paid extra money on the spot to add more roses and get rid of the green. She promised me the roses were only dark because of the weather and that they would be blush pink the day of. Then because I was so upset about the centerpiece I went to review my bouquets. I asked for dusky blue or light blue accent flowers in mine and blush pink roses in the bridesmaid bouquets. She starts gas lighting me that the stress of the wedding is clouding my memory and she knows I only asked for white roses. I pull up my pictures she shows me the signed contract. She goes to the back room and I hear jack say "that's the wrong contract" so i jump up and run back there screaming I told you this isn't what I asked for. 4 edits to the contract later I went to the car thinking she finally got It right. NO I had to send my fiancé back in because I couldn't argue anymore. Now I had 8 centerpieces but closer to the wedding and I ended up condensing my tables and I wanted them to spilt the 8th centerpiece into 2 smaller arrangements. After arguing for 20 minutes she agreed. It was as if I was asking for a kidney not to stick 10 roses in one vase and 10 in another . At one point she said she was just going to show up with the centerpiece and I could just put It somewhere the day of. At this point I'm frustrated but I can't do much I already paid. IN CASH. Three days before the wedding she texts me a whole list of my flowers. Everything is wrong. The number of centerpieces, where they go, the flower girl petals. I called upset hashed It out with her. She assures me the flowers will be there at 8:30. Now that's important. THEY DAY OF THE WEDDING: 8:30 comes and goes 9:30 comes and goes it's now 10 am. I'm freaking out. I'm not getting the pictures I want because I'm furiously texting these people they're telling me they're on the premises and the catering hall is saying they aren't and their not answering my phone calls. So I call and call I'm getting sent to voicemail. Until I finally exploded and left a voicemail saying I was going to sue if they didn't get me my flowers. Boom florist shows up. The dusky blue flowers were purple. The blush roses, bright pink. The petals, half dead. The 8the centerpiece that was split missing flowers and had some random ugly things I didn't ask for. The vases dirty as hell with finger prints and I asked for them to be cleaned he didn't do It. Everyone, every single vendor in that place felt sorry for me. I didn't let the flowers ruin my day because at the end of the day they're just flowers. But jack and rose. You guys are disgusting people. Scam artists. read more

I have been overly amazed by the outgoing, and outstanding service and polite hospitality of Jack & Rose. WOW what a professional company, but most of all what wonderful people. When I first came in contact with them I had an appt, and met a gentleman who welcomed me so nicely, sat me down, offered me a beverage, all good stuff, and said someone will be right with you. Minutes later I was greeted by a saleswoman/designer who was also so pleasant. I was escorted personally to their private showroom, which by the way is so outrageuos it blew me away! I felt as though I was in a affair dining room already while amidst a 19th to 20 turn of the century landmark building that alone had such a quiant feel of calm, passion and success. Well after 2 full hours which felt like minutes, I and my fiance' couldn't wait for the botton line price. We were just so excited. The lady worked it up, and said I want to help you better. She then offered such caring detail enhancements that only proved more of what we had first felt the moment we entered the Jack & Rose building....that they care! It was like a fairey tale wedding at our fingertips. When the price was conveyed to us, we immediately turned to each other, and in shock, started crying from enjoyment. I can't begin to tell you the stress we had felt at 4 other florists, the lack of attention to detail, the treatment as though they were a factory of flowers. At one place they had probably 3 to 4 other clients at the same time, and they were all complaining about lack of attention, well if now, then what about the wedding day.....so we marched on. I guess we genuinely saved the BEST for last! After my happy crying stopped, the gentleman who I had first met when we arrived for the appt. came into the showroom. He walked right up to me, reached out his arms, and hugged me, all to say, It'll be all right, its o.k. We will assume all of the floral responsibilty for your wedding flowers from this moment on only to do nothing less than a perfect floral job. Congratulations he said. After he walked away I had asked the saleswoman, who by the way is so very nice, so sweet, and so very helpful, who was that gentleman? She said, oh that was Jack, he is the owner! Oh my goodness, what personal care, what attention to a client from the owner down, we were both blown away. She said he has very high standards to follow, he wants and settles for nothing less than for you to have the wedding, the dream come true, that you have wanted for a lifetime. Yes had said, he truly does care, and is actively involved in every single wedding, and every single flower, and for that matter ever detail petal for a perfect wedding. Well all I can say is that it shows. We booked right there on the spot! Well several months later, we have been invited to return for more personal discussion, to sit, chat, and plan with this team of experts, and ya know, how can "better" get "better", but it has. What a continual wondeful experience it has been with Jack & Rose. I guess that is why they have been a "standard of excellance" for over 80 years as they mentioned to us. The wedding day was unquestionably perfect! The flowers of Jack & Rose made it a dream come true. Wow! I wish I could give these folks 10 stars! I cannot understand why their overall rating stands as it does because I have never met more gracious people! We actually met Jack & Patty through Crest Hollow Country Club and I immediately fell in love upon visiting their shop. The shop is beautiful and their impeccable design aesthetic is immediately apparent. By far, Jack was my absolute favorite vendor for the wedding. He and Patty worked tirelessly to ensure we got everything we wanted and were so full of good ideas it was amazing! The appointment was a breeze because we got plenty of inspiration from all the display pieces they had and my mom and I are naturally very decisive people. Then, a twist of bad luck and my wedding at the country club got cancelled due to visa restrictions on the family of my British fiance and we moved the entire wedding to England. However, my parents didn't want to do completely forego doing something stateside so we had a small shindig elsewhere. When I reached out to Jack to tell him the news, he was so genuinely heartbroken for the difficulties and offered his services at the new venue. We discussed the centerpieces for the new venue and he did a stunning wall of flowers on my stage which made every photo STUNNING. The team showed up exactly when expected and got right to work. When I arrived, his coordinator approached me to ensure everything was to my satisfaction. It was simply a magical night!! Jack and Patty are the most considerate, warm and wonderful people I have ever had the pleasure of working with. They and the team will work tirelessly to make sure your vision is even better in real life than you could've fathomed. They are prompt and open in their communication. They source fresh, beautiful flowers for the centerpieces and the price is right! This business has really made a place in my heart. I wish Jack all the best in carrying out his beloved father's vision and pray that he finds continuous prosperity. That wish is a bit selfish, i will admit, because I need him for my 10th anniversary party in the states haha! PS- The only point of criticism I can think of is that as some other people have pointed out, they should have uniform font on the contract. Look at the better business beareau for this place and you will not book. I paid for the flowers for my sisters wedding and aside from them being pushy and phoney the arrangements and bouquets are f quality. The roses weren't open and they will say that they can't help Mother Nature however I have forced a few roses open in my day and they lasted me 2 weeks- so don't believe their advice. They are the florist, they should know how to work with flowers. That being said I will start with the bouquets. I should not see wire in the bouquet, this should be hidden and it is their job to make the bouquets look professional- again, they are florists! The bridesmaids bouquets should be arranged in unison as requested- not the case for all girls. My fathers boutonnière head fell off and he didn't have a bout - I won't even discuss the corsages. Everything was designed as if a beginner did it- you don't spend hundreds of dollars on beginners work. The arrangements throughout were Inconsistent and again they were designed very poorly. I believe that the designer needs more practice because I shouldn't see how the flowers are arranged when sitting at the table. The florist should know that tall centerpieces allow for the guests at the table to see underneath- they are florists, they need to pay better attention to detail. The hydrangeas for the most part were nice but there's arrangements that the hydrangeas were wilting before the wedding was over. No one messed with these or touched these arrangements so again- attention to detail was missing, arrange better! Now I know why it's cash for every payment because once you see their work then you will want to dispute the charges. This place need practice and I don't care how many years they say they are in business. Overall these flowers weren't cheap and the phonie/ arrogance of this place was not worth my mom or my sisters while. I wish she would have gone to pedestals as they do an A+ job. VERY NICE PEOPLE MY NICEST VENDOR BY FAR always helpful and never about money my father had to say that we were willing to pay extra cause everything we wanted was FREE they gave gifts to start out. we were blown away since every vendore out there is tight and cheap. i know the economy is tough but jackrose was generouse and nice too. I wanted to come in late for an appt cause im going to law school and jack was willing to open his business AFTER HOURS to help and accomodate me. i thought that was incredible since no one does that kind of stuff one of the other floral venodrs in mineola canceled on me 5 minutes before i got there why? no explanation pls call back! Maybe im am a bridzilla but i am nice and if i am i expect the return respect and jack and patty did that always so courteous believe me girls i shopped around and my sisters flowers were dead on arrival from a different popular florist not too far away and they did nothing to help her. when my other appts came they showed my everything i would be getting who does that? my individual bridal/brmds flowers were shown to me one by one and then they said they would make a mock piece of my centerpiece they even took pictures of it. nothing could ever go wrong, and guess what? NOTHING DID! I guess i am writng more than i wished to cause i cant stand liars that say things that arent true and like the other girl said if you read thru the giborish you can see its probably the other flower shops bad mouthing cause i have to say its difficult to find human beings that treat you like a person and NOT like just a sale. we have been in touch with jackrose after wedding and brought them back flowers from hawaii too as a gift for doing such a good job...a few days later jackrose delivered me a huge flower piece with those flowers arranged properly as a perminent keepsake for jared and me. they are truly one of a kind.....now i can see why they are around for 85 years. good work guys read more

During My first appointment with J&R I was overwhelm with tears of Joy because Patty & the owner was able to work with my budget. They threw in a few additional complimentary centerpieces to meet my demands. Being a bride that was injured & on crutches for 4 months I was so behind in wedding planning. I was also going way over budget & by the time I got around to florist shopping. I was already almost tapped out. My 2nd appt I was there to choose the flowers & that went ok. I pretty much deal w Patty only . The owner never spoke to me or greeted me hello after the first appt. At the 3rd & final appt I realized what ever you didn't asked for during your first two appt would be additional . For instance, I had initially put down 2 flower girl and then I changed my mind and wanted 3 they tagged on another $50 for that addition . By then I had mixed feelings for JR. However , Patty was always very nice . I had special requests to have sparkle Bling ribbons added to all my floating candles vases & Bouquets ( Supplied by myself ). Patty was very accommodating mostly w the only exception she would not decorate my cake because they do not want to touch food ( although their competitors do it ) . Overall , I gave them 4 stars in the end because Patty was very nice & the owner did threw in a few free floating candle centerpieces during my 1st appt. ( btw the Vases for the floating candle centerpieces are borrowed not to keep) But Most importantly the Bouquets came out amazingly beautiful & the Quality was indeed exceptional. Patty did an amazing job listening to what I wanted. In the end that was all that mattered. I would recommend them to anyone that have a specific budget like me because they are willing to work with your budget. Their work was Beautiful! Jack and Rose Florists took care of all of the flowers for my recent wedding in New Jersey. Jack and Patty were very personable and friendly, making working with them a great experience. He was always willing to give his professional advice on ways to stay in my budget- even in aspects of the wedding that had nothing to do with flowers. Jack was very understanding and worked with me to bring costs down when I realized that I had gone over budget for the wedding. Jack and Patty really understood the woodsy theme I was going for. People are still talking about how beautiful, and unique, the flowers were for our wedding. I am not a person who takes time to write reviews unless I feel a vendor has really gone above and beyond. What Jack did for me was completely unexpected, extremely generous, and was one of the nicest things anyone has ever done for me. In my effort to get back within our budget I had to cut my things, such as our video montage and flat screens, limos, and even the manzanita trees and ferns I had always dreamed of having for our forest themed wedding. When I entered the ballroom for the first time to see my centerpieces I was immediately brought to tears. Jack surprised me by giving me the manzanita trees I had always dreamed of having. As if that wasn't enough, he even delivered beautiful ferns that lined the aisle for my ceremony. Not many vendors out there would consider going out of their way for a bride and in the process take a financial hit, but Jack and Rose Florists did. Jack promised that I would love everything and words cannot express how much I did. We used Jack & Rose Florist for our wedding day June 5th 2015 at Battery Gardens and they did an outstanding job. I met with Patty for our original consultation and and creative design session and with just those two appointments she and the team were able to delivery exactly what I had envisioned for my wedding day. The quality of the work was beautiful, and the person who arranged everything on-site went out of his way to find me in the bridal suite and show me pictures of the entire venue decorated with the flowers to make sure that I approved before leaving. The ceremony arrangements, reception center pieces, bouquets, and boutonnieres were beyond what I was expecting, and they even provided two alternative groom's boutonnieres so we could choose a more ornate or simple design. I found the contract to be very straightforward and Patty was very helpful in clarifying any points I asked about and made any amendments we requested with ease. I'm not sure where the negative reviews are coming from, but I feel like with any vendor, one needs to be very clear about what they expect and not be afraid to ask questions in order to get the exact service that they want. Jack and Patty were responsive to all emails and phone calls that we made and I can confidently recommend their services to anyone in need of sophisticated floral arrangements at reasonable prices that beat anything you can find in Manhattan. CARING, PLEASING, OPEN, AND HONEST! I am realizing that I am the type of girl that needs so much help with everything I do. My mother has passes away for a few years now, I wish she could have been here for my wedding. I especially need her help. When I cam to Jack&Rose my thoughts were all over the place. I met with Patty who runs the design team, I dont know what else to say except she is so incredibly caring and so overly helpful. First of all I work 5 days a week. I am glad to have my job. Times were tough, but Patty worked in her schedule special appt times. I offered to buy her dinner, she refused and said this is what I do, save the money for your honeymoon. I offered to tip her, she said she and her staff does not accept a gratuity and that they never did! She helped Paul and all with many different types of flowerrs, and colors, so many modern designs. Paul originally could care less about flowers, but he said he was blown away. They gave us some centerpieces for free. and some of our peoples corsages. Every flower, every experience hass been wonderful. I read some other stuff, and find it hard to believe when my own experience was so perfect and jack rose made my wedding perfect! oh and by the way, their contract sis so very simple, understandable, and clear as day. nothing hidden and they explain everything without ever rushing you. i found them to be so caring, pleasant, and willing to please read more

wonderful florist; wonderful people! wonderful flowers! i couldn't be happier! i am so glad i didn't listen to phoney comments made prior to my visit. my meetings were nothing less than warm and caring. they have an entire building set for weddings with such a nice outgoing staff. they couldn't have made me happier. they made so many exceptions due to my work schedule to allow me to come in at times that are not normal planning appts. i of course couldn't be more grateful. its stressful enough to plan a wedding, and all other vendors were not obliging as jackz&rose was. for instance my photographer could never see me on a friday/saturday/or sunday. they always complained that they were not in because they were doing someone's wedding, they also said "oh mondays" mondays we are closed! so that left just 3 days to talk and plan. dont they know i have to work to pay them!n but i have to say, that even though jack and rose has weddings on fridays/saturdays/sundays they opened up their schedule always to try to help fiance and i. they understood. oh and flowers were so beautiful, so modern. they creations are so new and modern that my guestsare still raving about the new ideas. time, attention, frsh flowers, and they delivered everything they promised, everything i paid for, and so much more. i truly recommend this company above all others. now i see why they have been around forever. they are that good! read more

OVER THE TOP! I cant begin to tell you how excited we are. First of all, anyone to say anything negative needs to have the head examined,(saying it politely, Their contract is WONDERFUL, it is in 3 chapters for very easy reading and is typed, which fiance' and I both loved, since so many contract/orders, including our caterers was a carbon paper which we could never make head or tails out of. Next they want to give us their time, amazing! Most places we visited said where's the money and see you later. Here, they ask for a deposit, and no more until they help you with ideas, and planning, and colors, and stuff. all great stuff. The caterer told us they are the most consistent and never have a problem with jack and rose. Actually the photographer said to me that they wanted a engagement session months ahead of time and then wanted to go to a park before the church, and when I told him Jack & Rose, he was thrilled like i was his daughter or something like that, a relative or so. He said they are never late and their flowers are always fresh! I was so relieved and happy to hear that i had no worries, cause you dont know sometimes until its too late. The weeding was crazy beautiful. people went nuts over the flowers. So did we. I wanna do it all over again. Oh and for what its worth, they threw in so much stuff too! I was married on a Saturday night. My flowers arrived at 3:45pm (from another florist) and my bouquet (bride) and the groom's flower were wrong and there was no way to make it work with the colors. My florist was too far a distance to fix the problem within the next hour. I called jack and Rose and even though they were closed, they immediately went through the flower options with me over the phone, waiting while I "googled" the images of their suggestions and calmly assured me that they would have a bouquet ready within 5 minutes. I sent a groomsmen over to pick up the bouquet and not only did they not just give him the flowers but they had him take a picture of the bouquet and send it to me and make suggestions of additions to the bouquet before he left. Then they called me before he left to be sure this bouquet was exactly what I wanted. I was not expecting much, but they decided to go above and beyond and not just give me a bouquet, but give me the most perfect and beautiful flowers I could ever imagine. the bouquet was more so much more beautiful than the one I had originially picked out and I was so overwhelmed with how kind and caring and quickly they handled this request on the day of my wedding at the very last minute, when they had many other events going on. Despite some of the negative reviews I've read in here, I chose to go with Jack and Rose. The price was right and Patty was an absolute doll to work with. When my husband and I first arrived at the shop we were amazed by how beautiful it really is inside. It was a rustic vibe with an array of beautiful flowers. There was a lot of centerpieces displayed throughout the shop, each more gorgeous than the next! Overall we met twice for the flowers. The first time we met with Patty and it was to go over what I had wanted. I honestly went in blindly, not knowing anything about flowers but she was so warm and knowledgeable it was easy to put my trust in her completely. The second meeting was actually seeing what my bouquet/table settings would look like and she truly exceeded my expectations and then some. The day of (and in a panic of course) we realized we needed the flowers to be delivered earlier than I had originally asked. We made a call over and Jack was more than accommodating. He had the flowers at my house within the hour!!!! My mom also used Jack and Rose for my bridal shower. The centerpieces were absolutely stunning and people were begging if they can take them home. I couldn't have been happier with my experience with Jack and Rose and will definitely be using them for any event in the future and recommending them to anyone in need of flowers! read more

THEY ARE CROOKS!!! Although recommended by crest hollow country club DONT USE THEM....they will rip you off. Although they present themselves as the cheapest they actually have hidden fees, because they provide the least in quality and when you try to improve on anything they charge you for everything. I concur with all the negative reviews posted. All true. Reviews through yelp and other sites are not the only place they get complains, many other couples have issues they have reported verbally. Banquet halls have been experiencing issues with them. First, they do not provide you with any written estimates to take home. Very shady. Patty does rush you through the consultation as another review mentions. They have fine prints that are so wordy and confusing it would take even an experience lawyer all day to review thoroughly. So Patty slyly explains the fine print without disclosing the important details. Hence why they have you sign that you were not rushed. This was my experience and they will take your money and then you will have all the problems. I recommend all other florists on CHCC list. They are old fashion, take a look at their showroom and then compare with the other showrooms for the other florists.... They lack the sophistication, honesty, experience and the professionalism to work with weddings. Don't waste your money and you time. read more

They were fantastic! I worked with Patty who I believe is one of the managers. She was wonderful. So giving of herself. You can see the care and concern for my needs every time I spoke to her. Suzanne the receptionist is a bundle of sunshine too. I am a tough person to please. I need time to make decisions too. I am a visual person and I am ocd. does that tell you enough? well they really made me happy the flowers the colors the style of design and perfection. I inspected every item and believe me there is no one pickier than me everything was perfect. They gave so much of their time when do they sleep lol Accommodated me whenever I had a question or wanted to change and instead of just saying tell me on the phone Patty was so giving of her time and caring enough to say why don't you come in and Ill work with you again Patty said she would feel better giving time to me so that my wedding would be perfect, and it was. Jack put his personal eye on every item which I thought was a great plus with an owner overseeing that everything be perfect I recommend them without a hesitation. don't get the negative on here, a few brides told me they emailed good reviews and it was filtered out, don't get it. sounds like competitors trying to discredit them, but I wont! They even ordered additional flowers for us last minute in order to have them match our cake perfectly. They were able to take my vision and bring it to life - only it turned out even more stunning than I ever imagined. I do admit that I didn't looked at many of the florist that CHCC had listed. I went to one florist before coming to Jack and Rose and then looked at another one afterwards. We choose them because they seem reasonable with their prices and they promised me that they will deliver the center piece I have in mind. Patty has been in the field for a while and as soon as she sees me pulling out my phone, she knew that I got a picture for her. I do admit that I have heard brides were not happy with them so we kind took a leap of faith when I signed with them. Yes, the contracts did have highlights and as well as capitalized letters that is kind of daunting, but at the end, what matters is the beautiful flowers they were delivered on time, fresh, and already displayed at your banquet hall. I am glad my flower shopping experience was smooth and the wedding day flowers turned out to be very beautiful. They even helped me moved my flowers to the wedding ceremony area so people can appreciate it longer. Please not that they don't really pick up the phone on first dial, but when I left a message or an e-mail, they were always returned promptly. We give the highest recommendation to Jack & Rose Florist. Spectacular, breathtaking, and gorgeous are the words that describe our wedding florals. Our guests continue to talk about our flowers now--months after our wedding--as something that they had never seen before. Patty worked with me every step of the way for many hours and brought my woodland fairytale vision to life. I had dreamed of a reception space with 7-foot trees on the tables filled with gorgeous roses, hanging lanterns with candles, and tiny white lights. The centerpieces had to be overflowing with candles at different heights. It had to be moody, dreamy, welcoming and warm all at the same time. I was confident that every detail I planned with Patty would be executed to perfection. And it was. My bouquet and the bouquets for my daughters and stepdaughter were incredible--all very different from typical wedding bouquets. They were absolutely perfect. I spent hours with Patty, literally picking every single flower that would go into my bouquet. (And she was so patient!) I can't begin to explain how amazing Jack and Rose florist is. From the moment we walked into the event room, we were blown away. It was truly breathtaking.
