Went for a group Christmas gathering, was my first time here. Ordered the Cuban sandwich, and honestly left alot to be desired. Seemed like only had one pickle in the whole sandwich and wasn't very flavorful. I'm not big on beer so I opted to just stick with sweet tea which was good. The staff was friendly so that's a huge plus.

Wanted to hit somewhere for brunch, but we're late to the game and ended up at Traust. What a surprise hit! Beer has always been solid here, but they stepped up their game with brunch. Hands down some of best French toast I've ever had, and the grits were amazing (and I'm not a grits girl). I will certainly come back here to enjoy their brunch menu!

I would never have come here if I wasn't invited by friends, but I'm glad I was. The food is absolutely amazing and I would say step up from traditional pub fare. I prefer cider, so the sweater weather cider was right up my alley. It tasted amazing If there was any negative, it was that there was a band there and, after a bit it became way too loud to actually enjoy the company of my friends while there. It cost us to move to another venue with shortened our time at the location.

It was pub food, the drinks were fine, but the air conditioning was conveniently broken in just one portion of this massive brewery. They had all of the black people jammed inside the hot room that was literally 102 degrees. The other rooms were air conditioned and nearly empty. You may wonder why Traust even earned two sad pity stars. Well, frankly it's, because this is the south. I am sure the owners are Trump supporters and it is what it is. I am holding space in the event that these people are not racist, just completely and woefully incompetent. In fairness some blame can be shared with the event organizer for not insisting that the event was moved to a space with working AC, but ultimately it falls on the manager for being inhumane or either incompetent and allowing people to suffer when they could have made different arrangements. He or She could have done absolutely anything to try to make the patrons comfortable. I ended up leaving the event to wait in the car because I have working sweat glands. The event was for a children's charity, but the venue manager had no heart. They should have done better. Any gesture of goodwill, hospitality or kindness would have helped to assure that the patrons affected wouldn't have felt undervalued but nothing was offered. I know when I'm not welcomed.

This was a fun spot! I met friends that I hadn't seen in awhile here for drinks and snacks. I loved how the space was decorated for the holidays and whatever Christmas playlist that was playing had bangers, but not the traditional holidays songs. The beer was great and the food was fantastic. We got the pretzel with mustard and blooming onion. The pretzel was crisp on the outside with a nice crunch but the inside was so soft and pillowy. Now the blooming onion was MASSIVE and the sauce that it was served with was fantastic- Mayo based with a little tang - wow. Three total people and those 2 things were perfect for us. The full menu looked wonderful so I don't think you can go wrong. All waitstaff was great and quick with orders. Tuesday might be trivia night weekly and there was even a tattoo pop up.

We popped by for an early dinner and grabbed a table outside. The menu was different than last time we ate so it took a minute to review and figure out what we wanted. The beer selection was better this time and I got the Ekto sour which was flavorful. I ended up ordering the taco salad and it was huge so I took half of it home. My husband ordered a burger and house chips and wasn't overly impressed with the chips. Our server was nice but after she dropped off the food we barely saw her and had to flag her down to cash out.

Great brewery with fantastic food in little ole My Holly, NC! The burgers are out of this world good but they have lots of other things to choose from as well. The prices are very reasonable for what you get too! This is a great place to visit whenever you're in the area!

My first experience with Traust was the Clt S'macdown. They were a vendor for their beer. My husband and I had the Pineapple IPA and fell in LOVE. Honestly, one of my favorite IPAs of all time. Fast forward to today. I was so taken with the beer, that when I saw Offline Charlotte had a deal, I had to try! This afternoon, we went in for lunch and strictly for food. We are sticking to dry Janauary, but doesn't mean I wasn't thinking about that Pineapple IPA the whole time Service was great. I ordered a grilled chicken salad and my husband had the Birria Tacos with a side of fries (separate). Everything came out hot (except for the salad of course ). The food was pretty good. I enjoyed my salad and it was filling. My husband was happy with his order. I can attest to some nice crispy fries as I of course stole a few. All in all it was a good experience. Next time, I would love to go in the evening and when I can indulge in that oh so yummy IPA. Oh, did I mention how good the Pineapple IPA is?

Stopped into Traust Brewing in Mount Holly, NC after going on a sunset kayaking outing on nearby Mountain Island Lake. Was also treated to the Full Moonrise, so it was a #spooktacular treat to be greeted by it flanked by Jupiter and shrouded in clouds when arriving! The exterior was decorated in several skeletons posed in various positions, and the inside was full-on Halloween mode, which I loved! Food & Beer QR Menus are on every table, and it is counter service. While I usually do NOT like this setup, my experience here was fantastic! I was starving from the aforementioned kayaking excursion, so I put in my food order and then came back once I perused their beer offerings. The staff could not have been nicer, especially the beertender! They brought out my flight of four (served in an awesome Oseberg Viking boat flightboard!), and my honey sriracha w/ranch side chicken waffle cone came out super fast, and while messy, hit the spot! The beer names were also viking themed, and they were all spectacular! I was even treated to a sneak peek taster of their upcoming #KØKØFLÜF Highly recommend stopping in, especially while their tasting room is decked out!

My non-smashed smash burger... this looks ridiculous, and that's how it was to try and eat this.

We've been going to Traust for a while, and unfortunately, I think the food quality is trending in a negative direction. The beer has remained solid, but the food menu continues to get smaller, and at our last visit, everyone at the table agreed that it's gotten worse. I ordered a burger, that was supposed to be two 4oz smash patties... and ended up with two 4oz thick "slider" sized patties stacked on top of each other. I understand a tall burger when you start getting creative with the toppings, but I think the cook missed the "smash" part about cooking these burgers. Several other options have disappeared off the menu (I think there was a Viking burger, and meatballs that are gone) and the other patrons I was with had Philly cheese steaks that looked like there was no thought in the quality of the rolls or how it was put together. Overall, it's still "decent" food for a brewery, but we've been coming for a while and have steadily seen the quality decrease. Given the other dinner options in the area, it's likely that we won't be dining at Traust unless the food improves back to their original quality.

Iced coffee (this is a cocktail) -- 9/10 because of the uniqueness and the drink was really yummy Mojito -- 9/10 really good mojito but was heavy on the ice Basil French 75 -- 6.5/10 I personally wouldn't order it again, I was excited to try it but it just wasn't my personal preference Hurricane -- 7/10 didn't love this one and asked for more sour mix I would absolutely come here again, especially on a nice summer day, and sit outside to enjoy the vibes! I also think it would be fun to come back for live music. I will say we ordered some food and it was just okay, convenient while drinking yes but not really the standout aspect of this place. We got the pretzel with beer cheese and the meat lovers flatbread, which is very small, about the size of a 8 inch personal pan pizza.

I've come as a Charlotte newbie, then became the one showing the place off to visitors, and in between I'll show up for a trivia night here and there. Staff here is my personal favorite- everyone is kind but not pushy or bothersome. They know the bar and the food menu.. I have asked what to order and fully gone along with their suggestions. Zero regrets. This is also a wonderful place to take friends or family visiting from out of town. My parents moved down here with me; just across the border in SC, but absolutely loved it here when I took them. They're boring and picky, and Wooden Robot somehow was exactly what they were looking for.

I feel even if it's packed, there's still ample room to not feel like sardines. The food: delicious in all of their offerings. Fries were perfectly crisp and not oily. The hummus was well balanced and tasty. The beer: my initial only reason to visit. But tasting their offerings had me sold and ready to give them all my money. So here's why they live their motto. The cans we bought started leaking, we went back and asked if the leakage was a problem. They asked a few questions and profusely apologized and gave us two six packs of their beer with no charge. I tried to pay but they refused. They could have just said "sorry to hear" and sent us on our way but they made us whole. Plus, their code of conduct is awesome and should be a standard for all businesses. We're fans forever. Not only of their food and beer, but their values. Thank y'all so much!!

I'd been here once before late night in the taproom with the smaller bar menu. That experience was fine. Not amazing, not bad--decent food, decent drinks, decent service. Very low-key and very different from this visit. So when we were nearby again before heading out to see Christmas lights, it felt like an easy, familiar option. Unfortunately, this time was a completely different story. Service was extremely slow from the start. It took nearly 30 minutes just to get drinks and an appetizer, and water refills were basically nonexistent. I eventually got up and refilled our water myself while watching the server refill other tables. We were there for almost 2.5 hours, which felt excessive given the pace and crowd level. Food was all over the place. Three meals had to be sent back. My BLT showed up with maybe two strips of limp bacon, soggy toast, wilted lettuce, and red peppers instead of the onions I asked for. Rather than remaking it, they just brought out two more equally limp strips of bacon. Two burgers ordered medium/medium-rare came out well done--even though the menu clearly shows doneness levels with photos, which made that miss even more confusing. On the bright side, the potato soup was excellent--probably the best thing we had--but it arrived lukewarm after a long wait. Other dishes like the scallops, Cajun Alfredo, and chicken sandwich were genuinely good, which just added to the confusion. A manager did drop off food and briefly acknowledge the issues, but there was no real apology or follow-up. I don't expect comps, but with this many problems and slow service, the lack of accountability was noticeable. Used plates from appetizers and sides that were clearly finished sat on the table for most of the meal. When dishes were cleared, the server often asked people who were still actively eating rather than removing the empty or stacked plates that were ready to go, which only added to the overall lack of attention and awareness. Between the inconsistent food, very slow service, and an overall lack of attention to detail, this visit just didn't work. It seems like one of those places where you might get a great meal--or you might spend hours wondering what went wrong. For now, it's firmly in the meh, proceed with caution category for me.
