Overall it was not a good experience and I don't think we will return. From the moment we sat down it was one thing after another. The customer service lacked so much. Our server was Colin and he just was not attentive nor very helpful. We ordered drinks while sitting outside because it was a nice day. When we asked the drink orders he told us we would have to go inside to look. Then I asked if they had a portable menu and he said no which was strange especially sitting on the patio I think it would be alot to have customers walk inside, remember what they want, and then return to their seat to let you know what they would love to try. I stuck with a water and simply asked for a straw which took at least 4 different times before he finally brought it. Once it was time for food, we ordered the bites plain with sauce on the side but he misunderstood and put them on the chicken instead. When he returns, his response was so....what do you want me to do? And asked if we wanted to keep them. We asked to have them remade because the it was too spicy they wanted to dip. It's too much to list the other things. It just wasn't a great experience overall. When they are more attentive to friends and other parties who are sitting outside, it makes you not want to return even if the food is okay. read more

NODA!!!!! WDUP!?!?! I LOVE YOUR NEIGHBORHOOD!!! I seen every Walk of Life while visiting the section. Straight, gay, jews, gentiles,, black white asian Hispanic women men and everything in between. This is the section where the cool comes clearly. I like my servers with tattoos everywhere a few earrings in the nose and a energy that feels like they've been through a little bit of life. This is my creed. I fell in love soon as I walked in. The place was crowded. The menu is so crazy. And looking at everyone else's plate coming to the table I gained 6 lb just food watching. They sent the wrong plate to my table and vice versa. So I got a close hand look at the nuggets and waffles plate. Love at first sight. Their burgers are so good. Grilled perfectly. I love the fact they use chicken thighs instead of breast on their sandwiches. Mine had the pimento cheese with the jalapeno jelly I think it's called The Southern charm it was so freaking good. The nuggets are incredible. I really love the area it is so different. Such an expression and energy coming off of the streets and everyone. This is where artist would go. There is artistry all over the buildings. This will be my first stop every time I come back to the city. There are several other spots I want to visit. I also fell in love with Charlotte this weekend. Always respected it but I fell in love this time. I dropped my wife and daughter off to the mall to go shopping and 30 minutes later I had to go to the spectrum to watch a hornets game. I got all that done parked in the garage walked in the stadium within 30 minutes. It was crowded that night. Try pulling that off in atlanta. It will take you 2 hours just to get out of the mall parking lot. This is a beautiful Metro city with a small town feel. People are very weird here. They speak. Lol. Call me crazy, but the best part about this place is that everything is hot and fresh! The burgers are phenomenal, but there is nothing more disappointing than a subpar, lukewarm tater tot. The tots were crispy and hot! We also started with the friend Mac and cheese bites, and they were equally as hot and fresh. As for the rest of the meal, we ordered sweet chili wings for the table (I didn't try them, but the table raved..), and we all got 2 sliders. I had the shooter mcGaven and the pork slider. The shooter McGaven was definitely my favorite. The pork was good, but it is a burger place after all, and they do burgers WELL. Such a fun, dive atmosphere, and great food. I ordered the Greg Brady and Leghorn slider plate with some REALLY good crinkly fries. Get the fries over the tots my first recommendation. My date had the Mac N Cheese Nuggs & the chicken nuggs with a sweet chili sauce, blue cheese & a spicy mayo sauce. Everything was pretty good from both ends of the table. We accompanied it with two shots of Hornitos which they had on special one straight & the other mixed with cranberry juice. Enjoyed Billy Jack Shack! Good vibe for a bar/restaurant or as my younger friends said "super cool". There were people of all ages. You could tell this was a local bar for many. The food was really good. They offer a different menu with a variety of items. From a burger with bacon and Mac and cheese to salads or chicken nuggets (they call them Chicken Nuggs) - there is something for everyone. What I liked the most about the menu is that it wasn't WYSIWYG...you can tailor and menu item as you request. It's a great stop when in Noda. We felt welcomed upon arrival and throyghout our time there as we were visited by a few workers and a guest or two. It must get a bit interesting late at night...if you look up you will seebras hanging from the lights and beams. They are practicing social distancing they checked our temperature, had masks on, required guests to have them on, and kept tables separated appropriately. read more

Decent food. Better atmosphere for a younger, late night crowd. There is no dedicated server, so they're all helping you. I've seen this work before but at least this trip it kind of seemed to not. Everyone was everywhere. I ordered the wake and bake french toast. Which was not French toast at all but a fried dough of some sort. With the firecracker nuggets in it, which I didn't read like a dummy so I was all the way thrown off. I don't know. Most people seem to like this place but not for me. read more

One thing for sure 2 things for certain, if you want a different spin on one of America's favorite brunch dishes try the chicken and waffles here. This is such a fun spot on the main drag of NoDa! The decor is so funky and awesome to just explore and see what neat little tchotchkes you can discover while drinking or eating away your evening! My bartender was phenomenal! Super nice, attentive and willing to tell u specials and explain menu items and answer questions! The beer selection is awesome as well! From bottle to can to draught. They also have a beer club you can join and if you drink 100 beers you become an official member and get a monikered shirt! The food for me was the real star here though! And, for the price, a steal! Inside is filled with beautiful sparkling lights very cute hip place. You can see the kitchen when you sit by the tables and bar. They have board game that you can bring to your table and play while you have some drinks ! Very unique. The kitchen does close the grill at 10pm so If you are planning on trying anything on there menu that doesn't require grilling which is almost everything ( you can order all nuggets and tots) ... which means their fryer stays on until later. I gave 4 stars because of the attention and it could be a fun place to spend time with friends, they have an outdoor area that is cool too and a Christmas tree like made out of beers and it's also filled with lights. The service isn't worth mentioning. The one order of Mac and cheese tots wasn't anything special, the drinks were good though! Was FORMALLY a great bar in NoDa. Now your typical "2 guys and with a dream" bar with literally only burgers and nothing unique about the menu or establishment. They got rid of sliders, $1 PBR's, then sticky nugs, and then the name all in the span of 3 months without telling anyone or thinking about what made it worth going. Unfortunately, there is no reason to ever step foot into this place again as Jack Beagles or any bar on the street has better prices, food and variety. read more

This is our 2nd time trying this place. First time was a year ago and our waiter wasn't that great so it took a while before going back. The waitress we had last night did a great job. However, the people bringing out food had no idea what they had in there hands a d 2 of the 4 of us finished eatting before the remaining 2 got plates. The decor is nice. It's a quaint little area downtown noda. Wait wasn't too long and the hostess was extremely nice. I got the cousin Oliver burger and I'll give it's a 5/5 anything that has mac and cheese and bbq chips piled on it is a winner in my book. Tots are yummy, and we ordered the mac and cheese bites for an apt. They were super cheesey and yummy. I also saw they serve brunch so that will be our next time to try this place. Found this little spot while googling nearby breakfast/ brunch spots in Charlotte while driving through . It's in the NODO district of Charlotte so we parked on the street and walked to the restaurant. The entrance is actually on the side patio door so it's a little tricky . It's a dive bar for sure with an overload of decorations and things everywhere. We got seated and ordered some drinks it was $4 mimosas and $5 brunch punch. My brother and I got the wake n bake French toast and my mom got the mix and match sliders. The French toast was real light/fluffy and good topped with chicken nuggets tossed in some kinda sweet and spicy sauce. A good portion too. The prices was good as well and our server was good. Will have to come back here when in Charlotte again . read more

We were looking for a place to eat lunch where we could also watch the Ohio State game. I had read about this place opening and it looked good so we decided to give it a try. We got there around 2 and it wasn't crowded. We were seated right away and they put the game on for us. They have a handful of TVs. We started with an order of the sticky nuggs in the sticky sweet chili sauce. They were delicious! We loved them and would definitely order more next time. For our main dishes, we got the Cousin Oliver burger and the Buford T. Justice. They were both delicious. The burger was so greasy and flavorful. The mac and cheese wasn't great, but it was good on the burger. The service was great. They were very friendly, had good recommendations, and didn't mind us staying to watch the game after we finished eating. Everything was sticky, the service was blah, and the music was up too high. It was early in the day and we wanted to be able to talk to each other but were unable too.
