Cooked to perfection and piping hot served with house made blue cheese (yea, the kind with the big chunks). My friend had 2 different sliders, one with jalapeno jelly. They looked amazing. They have the crinkle sweet potato fries! I had a carafe of mimosas. This is a great deal if you plan on having a few, they give you an entire bottle of champagne for $12 bucks, or you can get a single for $3. I can't wait to come back and have the wings again! Forget everything you currently know about bar food because Billy has crushed it. This festive dive bar in NoDa is known for having a good local beer selection & also had a side outdoor patio. It's small, but cozy with friendly staff. Be prepared to spend a while looking at the menu, because you're going to want EVERYTHING. We started with the fried Mac n cheese nuggs. They're the size of tater tots and filled with a creamier Mac and cheese reminiscent of the homestyle version made in a crockpot. So stinking good. And the sriracha mayo-we couldn't let it go to waste, so we snuck it home with us. I had the hardest time picking which two sliders I wanted, but eventually decided on the Mike Tevee (bacon, caramelized onions, bbq sauce) & the Longhorn (fried chicken, slaw, pickles). Did not disappoint! With the Longhorn you can choose grilled, fried, or Nashville hot chicken. I went with the Nashville hot for a good kick. The sweet sauce to dip tater tots in is awesome & I could (but won't) eat it with a spoon. And if you love a good fried chicken sandwich, the only thing you should order is the Buford. Perfect fried chicken on a cheddar bay biscuit. It's the best chicken sandwich I've had in my entire life, and I've eaten a ton of chicken sandwiches. BONUS**** Super reasonably priced menu. I love this place. It's cheap, dive bar food, but it's fantastic. The wings are cooked in pork fat and then fried, so the meat falls off the bone when you get them. 5 stars! This was a great experience this past weekend on a beautiful Saturday in noda, we've heard so much about this place so we decided to drop by and check it out. Food was phenomenal as we both grabbed some sliders, Mac and cheese nuggets (OMG so good) and a side of tots. We paired that with some delicious beer which they have a huge selection to choose from, service was fast, helpful and couldn't have asked for a better experience. The inside was nice with tons of seating and the patio was huge and gave a great view of noda. This is officially our new hangout spot. read more

Loud Blink 182 music on blast, I should carry ear plugs, posing as a dive bar, when it's a corporation, charging $8 for a half pour of a local beer from Pineville... claiming it is priced that way because it was an expensive keg -- at 6% ABV. 10 out of 12 drafts came as half pours if you like drinking pinky up out of a tea cup. Hard pass unless you have a thick wallet and like feeling poor - which you will be at $1 an ounce. read more

For the price and value. 5 stars! Huge portions, awesome prices. I saw Nashville hot chicken on the menu and was instantly sold. I have not found many places in CLT that offer it! I decided to go with the southwest salad and added it! The salad was a huge portion and the amount of chicken they put on it was unbelievable - especially for only a $3 upcharge! The chicken was moist and the outside was crispy with the right amount of heat! My husband got the slider plate with a Nashville hot chicken slider and burger with sweet potato fries. $9. His sliders were huge and almost looked full size! Tip- If you're looking for a smaller meal you could split the slider dish with someone. I tried his burger and it was amazing! Made with waygu beef! Hands down I have to get a burger next time. We also split a side order of chicken nugs because why not! You get to pick your sauce from a large variety but we went with the peanut hoisin as it was something different. I probably wouldn't get it again (that specific sauce) but the nuggets were cooked perfectly and had a light breading on them. Now Billy Jacks is definitely not diet friendly, but if you're looking for a place with some good fried food, and to kick back a few beers - BJs is for you! read more

Went to Billy Jack's today for lunch with my friend as he was excited to try this spot. The yelp reviews were good so I was excited. Pros: service was A+! The staff was friendly and extremely attentive. They really made us feel welcomed I ordered the Greg Brady and 50/50 grind (2 sliders also came with my choice of side). Greg Brady-black angus beef patty topped with house mac and cheese and bbq chips 50/50 Grind-smoked angus patty topped with melted american cheese, carmelized onions and bj's sauce My sliders were pretty delicious but they were also pretty tiny, even for sliders. The bun to meat ratio was pretty off but I will say, the meat tasted great, just wish there was more! Cons: Tator tots were really salty. Don't kid yourself, you aren't going to this place because you are watching your calories but between tots being super salty The "napkin burgers" don't come with a side. This was strange and weird. My sliders came with a choice of a side but not their signature burgers? My friend's burger (Hunter S. Thompson) was sloppy. The grease ruined his burger & the burger itself was soggy. The burger + a side of tots + a side of sweet tea came out to $18.27 + tip was about $22+ for lunch. This felt really high. While I likely won't return, if you go, I recommend at least doing the slider option. read more

We got the Mac and cheese nugs which were great! Then the garlic Parmesan nuggs and they were crispy this time. Ugh absolutely delicious forreal! Split some 50/50 grind sliders which were cooked perfectly juicy and delicious. Service was great and atmosphere chill. Food prices are very reasonable and they have a great beer selection. This is my second time here and let me tell you guys, this place is phenominal! The atmosphere is always upbeat and lively, the staff are always so nice and laid back. The macaroni bites here are to die for! Ive been all over the country trying and reviewing burgers (though this is my first review on yelp im pretty sure) this burger is the best in Charlotte for sure. Meats. A lot of meats. This place is really different than it used to be. The decor is kind of like an old garage theme? Pretty uniquely decorated. It has a large bar space & a cool disco ball. They also played some good music. The service was decent. We had different people take our order & serve the food. Our appetizer took a really long time, & all we got was bacon. The bacon was ok. They should consider a candied bacon app or something sweet & spicy instead of just regular old bacon. It wasn't too crispy either. I got one of the hot Nashville chicken sliders & fries. Both were very good. The slider is hot! It comes with fresh jalapeños, not pickled, so beware. I would definitely order it again. read more

One of my favorite places in Charlotte. Located in the heart of the NoDa neighborhood lies this place. The service is always good. The food is some of the best I've had. No matter what you get. The prices are more fair compared to surrounding places. The atmosphere is just cool. They play rock music which is defiantly my scene so I enjoy that. Which is a good NoDa vibe all together. Come here. You will love it. I promise. All ages are Here for sure which is cool but definitely more younger crowd of the 20's and 30's and 40's here. it's cool for everyone. It's chill and cool. My friends and I went on Saturday afternoon after a long night Friday. We ordered smothered home fries and a side of French fries so while we did not really try much of the menu, what we had was good. The fries were especially crunchy and salty, which we enjoyed. We did get a few pitchers of mimosas which were also very good. They give the option to use a variety of juices; we stuck with orange juice, but the variety is nice. $12 a pitcher also seemed very reasonable. We sat outside in a covered tiki-type bar which was a very nice, relaxing environment. Service was friendly and attentive so no issues there. Overall would definitely recommend for a casual lunch or dinner, or just drinks with friends. Will be back! read more
