The good: This was a great park with a shaded playground, a small splash pad, sand area, bathrooms, and plenty of street parking. We have a heat wave right now in San Jose but I was still able to take my kid here because of all the natural shade from the oak trees. It's especially pretty during the fall because the trees have all turned colors. It's nestled in a neighborhood so feels safe and quaint. I liked the cute "kids only" treehouse sign on the playground. My daughter enjoyed climbing the faux rocks. It was busy on the Saturday we came. The bad: The sand and splash pad area are adjacent so that gets messy with kids. The interesting: The name comes from the former principal of the school that used to be located where the park is now. read more

Nice park but we came for the water feature and it was really underwhelming. It can really use some maintenance. Not every sprayer works and there's lots of sand in the splash pad area. We'd like to come back but hopefully it'll have been serviced. read more

This park is awesome! It has both a tot lot and an older kids lot. Most of both are shaded-amazing! There is a sand pit on both sides. Best of all, for summer: there's a water feature! We love this park! It's got a smaller playground that's partly fenced in and sand and that the littles love to play on. It's also got a bigger playground for bigger kids and sidewalk area for scooters and bikes. There's bathrooms and a water feature and a decent amount of shade. My only complaints have been when bigger kids take over the smaller kid area and get too rowdy and fast moving and knock over babies (with their parents not doing anything about it). And the water feature is a little lacking in water and water pressure but that could be California drought related. read more

This can be a hidden gem depending on where you are entering the park. On one end it just looks like a huge grassy field perfect for running or laying out a nice picnic lunch. The other end is where the play area is, complete with a water feature and a small hill where you can walk the curvy path all the way to the top. My girls have ran down the grassy hill and even rolled down it. The play structures are really nice and can get quite busy in the summer once the water feature becomes available. You can ride your bikes, scooters and roller blade/skate. read more

Today was Temper Tantrum Central with my toddler, so we needed to head out of the house to burn off some energy and Jack Fischer Park was the place to go! Oliver is three months away from turning two and he is certainly living up to the "Terrible Two's" stage that is soon approaching. So we will be needing to find more toddler-friendly activities in the Bay Area... soon! Jack Fischer Park is one that we frequent often. It's a smaller, neighborhood park, but my kids really enjoy it. It's clean and people who come here are very friendly. As always, I love that there are two separate playgrounds for the big and small kids. There is a fence surrounding the small kids playground, but it does not entirely close all of the way. There is no gate to keep is closed, so my Houdini of a child (Oliver) can easily escape the small kids playground. The water feature is also a very popular feature with my kids, so we MUST come prepared with swim suits when visiting this park. There is also a "Bee Hive" shaped hill that my daughter loves running up and down on. PARKING: -Street parking available in residential area COST: -FREE! absolutely fabulous park for little ones and big ones! the mostly enclosed tot lot is shady with seating, a sweet little play structure for little legs and a nice sandpit. The bigger kids playground has a fun play area, and a bigger sand pit with a lot less shade. The water feature is fabulous, just enough fun for all ages. There are lots of great shaded seating all around the park, pathways to ride bikes and scooters on & parking all around the park. There is also a bathroom with a changing table in it, and its all very clean and nice looking. The only negative I have about this park is that I didn't find it sooner!!!! But my son loved it, I love it and its on our list of weekly adventures from now until we move away! read more

My empire has decided to add Jack Fischer Park on the list of favorite parks. This is a small yet very clean and well-kept park in Pollard Road near El Camino Los Gatos Hospital. My fiance and I frequent this park and have our lunch picnics here once or twice a week. Although having only a few benches and tables to sit on, this park is not crowded even during the weekends so there isn't any problem about losing space to use. A lot of children and their (nannies?) caregivers populate this park in the mid afternoon. The small hill at the side of the park make it a great and fun exercise for the little ones. The trees surrounding the park are lush and they are a pretty view in the fall ! On several occasions, I had needed to use the bathroom and the ladies room is well-kept and there is always two toilet paper dispensers. The sink always has soap and it never smells unlike other park toilets. Come and visit Jack Fischer Park and have a quiet but fun time with your fam bam or your other loved ones. Do some cartwheels on their lush grass area and MAYBE I will bring my volleyball peeps here and do some peppering. I am not sure if this park requires a permit for little sports activities like my casual volleyball group but if not., we can always go to another park. This park is in the middle of a residential area and parking may be a hassle if a big group of people flocked here. There is no private lot for parking in this location. Parking is on the street which literally surrounds the awesome park. Jack Fischer is truly a park my empire will hope to keep. read more

This park is in a GREAT residential location, has a COOL water feature for the kids to run through time and time again, open grass area in the shade and sun, big sand box and two playgrounds: toddlers and preschoolers/elementary school. We live just down the street. They closed it down to renovate it, and it opened yesterday. Sadly, while the play structures were upgraded, they took away the normal swingsets and replaced them with baby-only swings. My 10 and 12 year olds are very disappointed because they used to use the swings all the time. They also replaced the sand with tanbark. We aren't thrilled at all as this park now has become a lot less interesting to us. read more

This cute little park has a real neighborhood feel. It was full of families when we visited. There is no parking lot but there seems to be plenty of street parking. There is quite a bit of shade which was nice and 2 play structures. One for kids 2-5 and another for kids 5 and up. They also had a sand pit and a splash pad, which the kids were loving on a warm afternoon. The neighborhood and park feel very safe and the bathrooms were clean. Great little park! read more

Nice breeze even today, a very hot day. Plenty of benches strategically posted around the playgrounds with a full view of both playgrounds from most. This is a stellar park for kids, with a huge grassy area, and an irresistible hill. The favorite attraction is the water feature, so bring a swimsuit and towel for each kid. There are four swings, one of which is like a hanging lounge chair for kids. There are several play structures, some steep slides, and fabulously, most of the play areas are enclosed so it is less likely for little ones to find their way into the street, On Mondays, there are *two* Las Madres groups that meet here, so stay away unless you want to experience craziness incarnate. I'm here at least 4 times a week. Its got everything my 3 year old needs. * Big green space to run.....away from heavy traffic. * Water spray are open until 5pm for the boy to play in the water in. The big kids can overrun it at times but usually enough little kids keep them away. * Big hill to bike, skate, run or roll down. Too bad it doesn't snow here because it would be awesome for sledding. * Swings, slide, rope ladder * Sand feature with waterfall/aqueduct like thing going on. The neighbors usually leave enough toys for your kid(s) to play with in the sand so you don't have to worry about bringing any/losing any I only ask if you bring toys, share them. What are you teaching your children if you don't? Its got sun and shade and picnic areas. Us locals can be a bit of weirdos though. Strange birds. read more

It is a nice, small park with something for everyone. It has two play areas: one for little kids and another for bigger kids. There are also water areas like the arches that squirt water and a water fountain surrounded by sand to play in. The restrooms are usually pretty clean for a park (with water and sand) and there are a couple of tables around the park. Next to the park is a nice lawn. My favorite part of the park is the grass hill. It has a walkway to the top that spirals around the hill. There is a nice circle bench to sit on and admire the park. There are plenty of benches and trees to shade the park. This park is family friendly and a great place to have a picnic. read more

Cute Park in Campbell! There are some great sprinklers for kids to play in but most of the kids were 5 and up so my little 23 month old were too scared to go in. The sandbox area is great and a nice large area to play in. The swings were limited with only 4 for toddlers so go during the week since my twins had to wait a while to go on. Play area was targeted for kids 6 and up since it has climbing rope, giant slide and a tunnel. If you have little ones this is all too big for them. The park has a beautiful lawn area and clean bathrooms. I think we will come back when the Twins are 3 years old. read more

I am so happy that the kindest and most caring principal I had as a child has a park named after him -- the Jack Fischer Park. He was a principal at San Tomas Elementary School in Campbell, California I attended in 6th grade in the early 1960's. All the kids loved him. He was an incredible human being. totally fine small park for locals. It has a water feature that runs in the Summer if we aren't in a drought and a nice hill to scooter/bike down. The other kids' behavior is hit or miss- like all parks. Repairs are slow, however. A portion of the park was boarded up for months and now a new piece is boarded up waiting to be fixed, which sucks because its the stairs. read more

Play areas fenced off! :-( We love this park! I have 2 1/2-year-old twin boys. There's always something here for them to enjoy. They have such different personalities - one is busy doing a hike on the grassy hill while the other one is busy playing in the water feature. We tried going there this afternoon to take advantage of this gorgeous weather before the rain hits next week. Alas, the play areas were fenced off and the tree trunks were wrapped in an orange material. Looks like they are doing some renovations. Can't wait for it to open again. read more

Great park for the little ones, especially the toddler-age kids! The water feature is wonderfully cooling on hot summer days, and the play structures are great year-round. The bathrooms are pretty clean too. Another highlight is the grassy hill. The kids love to just run up and down the hill - amazing what a lump of dirt can do to entertain them. Love this park! Great water area and my son loves the sandpit! I just wish they had a better playground area and maybe a cover since the two times we have gone the slides and everything were to hot. Great park! The water play is fantastic! We could have stayed all day and not become bored. We went on a Wednesday am/early afternoon. It was a little crowded as to be expected, but not bad at all, I didn't see any huge groups meeting. Plenty of street parking without too far to walk. read more
