Our family has been coming to this park for years and it's one of our girls (6 & 8) favorites. This park has a lot to offer for families with toddlers and older kids. It has tennis courts, basketball courts, swings, multiple play structures (for big kids and little kids), and huge open grassy areas. There is also a walking loop that surrounds the largest of the grassy areas. All the times we have been there it has been clean and not too crowded. There is a parking lot and a lot of street parking. This is a great park for some fun family time!

A new find in the neighborhood! Huge park with a lot of shade to play ball and have a picnic. I have not seen it too crowded in the times that I have been there which is a nice plus.

My family and I discovered this park while a loved one was hospitalized at Good Samaritan for a week. My granddaughter could not be at the hospital with her parents so we'd bring her every day to spend some time with her father. We'd come to the park each day, see her play and even take a short stroll along the path around the grassy area. I love every feature at this park from the separate play areas based on age, the basketball and tennis courts, the shaded picnic tables and the clean bathrooms. There were always plenty of families having fun, relaxing or getting some exercise in. It's a nice change of pace when you want some good old fashioned family time. I do not reside close by, but would plan a regular picnic here so my granddaughter can enjoy herself. She seems to be very confident with herself lately. She's daring to take a turn at the different sized slides. Thanks Yelp for leading the way. What a find!

What kind of park has a zipline?!? THIS ONE. Two seating options, one with a harness for toddlers,…read morethe other for older kids (I even saw adults using this). The park also offers a fun and inclusive space for children, with climbing structures, sturdy cement slides, swings for both toddlers and older youth, a see-saw, merry-go-round, trampoline, and spongy material making up the ground's surface. The occasional squirrel, lizard, and butterfly too. As an adult simply looking for a place to relax while waiting for my car at an auto shop nearby, I was pleasantly surprised to find this park accommodating. Dirt and concrete trails weaving through the garden, lovely vegetation in spring, and a good amount of picnic tables and benches scattered throughout. Also, a shady area with fake grass and seats made out of smoothed-out logs and tree trunks, as well as adirondack chairs where I was able to hang out and nap while I was there. It wasn't too crowded or crazy on a Friday morning, though it got busier as it neared noon time. In addition, the place offers a parking lot and clean restrooms for convenience.

The play garden has everything kiddos love -- slides, one seesaw, one round spinner, one rope climbing thing (that can also spin), swings (bucket and standard), small water play area, and a Zipline (one for little kids 3+ and one for older kids). They also have an area with tables, where someone was having a party (no idea if reservations are needed though). Expect to wait in line for a turn of the park is crowded. The play garden is fenced off from the rest of the park. They have a restroom on site. They have a small parking lot that is nearby the entrance of the play garden. I noticed some people parked on a smaller side street and walked over. I'm not sure what other parking options there are otherwise. We would return if we're in the area again and if it's less busy. It's a solid park and play area for those who live nearby.

Located inside Balboa Park, you can tour the museums in the area, but don't forget to stop and take a moment to smell the flowers at the Japanese Friendship Garden... There were so many beautiful birds, butterflies, koi, and plants I've never seen before. The grounds were very clean and well manicured. Pricing to get in was about $60 for a family of 4 (including student pricing for our children) which may be a bit steep if you have young children with thin patience.. however, if you are able to come in and find your Zen for a couple hours, this is the spot to do so. They offer free crafts for visitors- when we were there they were doing an origami workshop, which seemed very fun. However, our kids weren't up For it- so we did not participate. Would definitely visit again in the future!

It's not a park to have a hardcore hike but one could definitely get a good 'walk' in as the trails are easy and the crowd is generally comprised of locals from the neighborhood. I have successfully completed a 5 mile "hike" multiple times here -- just had to keep walking up and down, and all around. The park also has workout stations -- although, many of them are closed right now due to COVID19 but an average person could get a good cardio workout and get in some strength based exercises here (pull-up bars, etc.). Parking is easy as this park is aligned with a huge residential area. P.S. there are no public restrooms with the exception of seasonal porta potties so you should probably go before you plan on visiting. P.S.S. this park is popular for youngsters to "be youngsters" after hours so be cognizant if you're trying to plan a romantic date.
