This location has been my go-to for many years. Quality of food is sort of a toss-up. I like their fries, tacos and some of their hamburgers from time to time. On certain days I go, food is steaming and high quality and comes out in what seems like half a minute. On others, there is a long wait, and it comes out cold or some items are missing from my bag, meaning I have to go inside and show the receipt in order for them to fix the issue. Some advice, check the bag immediately after it's handed to you. I must mention that the drive-thru is my preferred method of ordering. The last time I ordered inside was a long time ago. Ambiance inside is your typical Jack in the Box. Roomy dining room with the standard advertising, and you hear the employees' dialogs with customers, as is typical in any fast-food establishment. read more

Had the most awful Customer Service from the so-called store manager this evening who even went as far as telling me to fuck off and gave me the birdie finger onto 2 to 3 occasions. I drove up through the drive-through window attempting to place an order for the evening. After making me wait for over 10 minutes. She basically hung up on me and told me to have a good day. Which I tended to overreact to, and then the fight was on. I drove up to the window, very upset, of course, and confronted her, and she continued to use profanity toward me. This lady has no business being in any Customer Service business? I have no idea how she became a shift or otherwise any other type of manager. She was a very rude and obnoxious young woman who obviously does not know how to take care of customers. I would love to see her lose her job!! I was able to reach the district manager today, who was not much more professional or helpful than her employee. I spoke to Rebecca, who, even after I told her that I regretted my actions, she continued to defend the actions of her very unprofessional employee. I don't think I will ever eat at Jack in the box again, and in addition to terminating your employee, I suggest terminating your district manager for the Chico Jack in the box region. Very unprofessional and has no idea what Customer Service is all about. Seems like that's what you're getting in the fast food industry today! I would appreciate a call back or email back from someone in the executive position to discuss the two worst that employees I ever have dealt with in my history with the Restaurant business and I am in my 60s! Went inside with my son, stood there at the register waiting and waiting and waiting and waiting for the guy to take our order. He didn't even acknowledge us to say it will take a minute. Lazy workers always deliver the wrong food. I finally called and complained to the manager. Who really didn't care... told me to come back to correct order. Quick service, fresh product, and friendly staff in the Drive through. I had the Cluck Deluxe Sandwich: chicken breast, lettuce, tomato, bacon, cheddar cheese and guacamole. Yep. Ignored by staff the moment I walked in. Finally asked what I would like and I told them I had placed a mobile order. Person at the counter just said "oh okay " and walked away. Pros: - Friendly staff. - Food is usually well made. Cons: - Dirty and poorly maintained. - High prices. - Bums all over the place. If you plan on going inside this JIB you'll need a weapon to fend off the large group of homeless that always seem to be having a convention near this location's front door. You would think the management would address this issue but it only continues to get worse. The JIBs in Chico are poorly run. The staff here do seem to be trying and are friendly but that doesn't make up for all of the cons noted above, especially considering the pricing. $3 for a large fries, $1.40 for two tacos, and on and on. read more

I also like the fact that it's cheap when I don't have a lot of cash and it's fast when I'm in a hurry. If the visible area including the parking lot and entryway is filthy. I hate to think what the cooking area looks like. This was my last time visit for sure. I understand this is Jack in the Box and you pay for what you get but the fact that it took 30 minutes to get my order along with friends was ridiculous. They mentioned that their orders cleared out...if I did not go up to ask them about my food, they would have never called my number. When I got my food, the food was poorly cooked. I was extremely disappointed. My friend went inside their bathroom and there was throw up EVERYWHERE on the floor. The tables to eat were all dirty and with leftover food and crumbs all over. This is a Chico fast food restaurant that has a late-night drive-thru, so I do go here from time to time. I like that I can get a Teriyaki chicken bowl with rice and veggies at a fast food restaurant (love the egg roll, too). I also like that I can get a breakfast item any time of day (all Jack's do this). I must admit that I do indulge in the greasy tacos (2 for $1) sometimes too, but hey - nobody's perfect. Overall, this location is quick and gets my order correct 9 times out of 10. However - they do have a couple of downsides that I will point out: One - they always ask you if you want to order the newest thing on the menu (all Jack's do this, too). I feel like this is rude and it just ticks me off every time. Stop doing this! Also, when I finish ordering and say, "that's it", don't ask me if I want something else ("a drink with that?"). [Minus one star] Two - Drive-thru design. There is an insane turn you have to make and every time I maneuver it, I feel like I am going to hit something. Also, there is very poor visibility on Esplanade when you pull out. I can't believe the city signed off on this terrible design. I came here for breakfast in Sunday in the Drive-Thru and received poor customer service. The person did not take my order for over 5 minutes at the speaker box and told me to wait until he was ready when I said "hello?". After I ordered I pulled up to the window and the cashier assisted 3 people in the store before coming to charge me. I had to turn off my car because of how long I waited. This restaurant is home to several transients. They are allowed to hangout outside, and tie up their pitbulls while they get water for them inside. The staff isn't paid enough to deal with the drugged patrons. There is generally a scent of homelessness that wafts through the air. Not an environment I'm going to eat in again. Really can't understand how this place is still in business. Of the 3 fast food restaurants within 200 yards, it definitely gets the least traffic. Just cruised on through this fabulous destination, and wow did we get some great food! Loaded nuggets were fresh and tasty. I ordered a coke, and Edgar, our fantastic waiter informed me they have VANILLA coke. Which is by far, the best one. I usually come here at night for the munchie meal. Two tacos, mix fries (curly and regular) soda pop and loaded nuggets. My girlfriend and I each got one, and it was about 13 bucks. Will come again! read more

I love Jack In The Box. I hate this location. Lady in charge in the morning has no good customer service skills. They have one of those Coca Cola machines that dispenses dozens of beverages. Only problem is they always keep it off. You have to order your drink from an employee who will get your drink from the machine behind the counter. You don't get to choose from the dozens of choices available through the machine they keep off. read more
