Arrived at 7:30 and it was pretty busy however, we able to get a table in the bar area with Isabelle as our server. She was kind, attentive and had our water and menus delivered quickly with a smile. We ordered chips & salsa, a 3 For Me Combo w/a Smashburger and a chicken rice bowl. We also got a jalapeño margarita (with Tajin on the rim, thanks for the recommendation Isabelle, YUM!) and a Modelo. The chips, salsa and drinks came out super fast and the food took less than 15 minutes. Perfect timing, it arrived just as we finished the other food :) My burger was good, not too flavorful but the lettuce, pickles and thousand island sauce plus the ultra soft and slightly sweet bun made for a yummy meal. Fries were cooked just right too! The chicken bowl seemed to be decent although it didn't have very much rice (bummer, my friend literally only found about a spoonful at the bottom of the bowl). She said the beans were ok but all in all, I think I may have gotten the tastier meal. Hers wasn't bad, she said it just didn't have any rice and wasn't what she thought it was going to be. When I arrived the bar was a lot less saturated, so I opted for the bar top. I'll start off by saying our bartender(s) (I didn't catch their names) were excellent. The girl that took our drink order and gave us menus was so sweet and fun. Our main server/ bartender was so kind and welcoming, very attentive. His overall attitude was refreshing, he looked genuinely happy to be there. I ordered a Nashville Hot Chicken Crispers, which were okay, not bad but I wouldn't order them again. They're more of a dry rub which isn't necessarily my jam. I'm more of a sauce hot chicken girl, AND it felt Cheyenne Pepper heavy, texture was a little grainy, but expected (assuming it was in fact a dry rub). White Cheddar Mac was great. Fries, also great. Of course I had a Lava Cake (10/10, no notes). Pictured is also the Wicked Marg's not from this visit. Over all it was GOOD but next time I would stick to the Honey Chipotle. The smasher burgers are amazing, but someone who likes a double double cheeseburger it's a bit too much meat even for me, so I suggest trying the single smash mouth. When delivered it's like 20 bucks for a single or a double Smashburger with fries, a Coke huge bag of chips and salsa. It's the best deal in town. It was so good. The second time I ordered it. I got the double but it was just way too much meat even for a double double from you know where it's an amazing deal everything tastes amazing but like I said, start out with the single Smash Mouth then you'll order the double double and you'll realize if you're a young lady, the ladder is just too much. Chili's the national chain has been in Chico forever. Located at the Chico Marketplace aka Mall, is convenient off the freeway. We go there sometimes for football in the fall. Their barstools are comfortable and the service is quick, the prices are reasonable. I prefer Chili's over Logan's Roadhouse & Applebees. This time the "soup" was a disappointment. It was basically nacho cheese with chips, and the "bowl" serving was small, but in this case more would be wasteful because I didn't finish it. My boyfriend said the steak quesadilla was good. He never eats leftovers but reheated them the next day for lunch. The servers were nice, a little slow for a bar & restaurant that was 1/2 full. Brisket Quesadillas: Probably one of the more cost effective items for 15.99$ and over a thousand calories. Quesadillas came in small handheld shapes. Took probably 3-5 bites to finish each. Tastes amazing, ranch reall complemented well with the quesadilla. I didnt find the sour cream, tomatos and lettuce to do much but not hating on it, they did add nice color to the plate and hey extra food is extra food. (Sour cream and ranch probably made up a lot of the calories said on the menu). I dipped the ranch until it was almost all out, I really liked it. After a few down I did notice that dipping with ranch and not dipping started tasting near the same though. I finished the whole plate and wasnt not full but wasnt happy full, because of that, it gets a 4 star. Great lunch deals! Went today with my friend for lunch today....march 8th..see receipt. They have an extensive menu with many deals. We shared the 3 items lunch special...we chose the hamburger with fries and tortilla soup. Instead of a soda I Upgraded to a margarita for 3.99. Burger was tasty and the fries were fresh and delicious. The soup had plenty of white chicken meat. My friend had the patron margarita for 6 bucks. Both margaritas were refreshing! If you sign up on their rewards you get a free appetizer which was bottomless tortilla chips and salsa. Easy to join and well worth it! The chips were warm and the salsa was mild ( i personally like more heat). We finished lunch with a slice of cheesecake and coffee. We had plenty of leftovers! (Chips filled us up!). It gets pretty busy by noon but they are fully staffed and the employees all work well with each other! HUNTER waited on us and she was awesome! ROMAN also did a great job. I had the worst steak I have ever been served. . I ordered their Shrimp and rib eye steak, med. rare. It came well done, a crime in itself. I sent it back. The second steak was at least slightly pink tinged but toughest piece of beef I have ever had. The shrimp was delicious in a butter and garlic sauce and the hot mozzerella sticks from the appetizer Plate were the only redeeming edibles. The mashed potatoes were abysmal. Came here to say that the service is great, I mean really great. The ambience is still fun. It's a great place to go. However, the food quality has declined, so much so that my son couldn't eat his chicken. I also ordered the chicken fajitas and the texture of the chicken is all wrong. It tastes like what I would imagine lab-grown chicken tastes like. Hence I gave the restaurant three stars, because everything else that's right has to count for something! This isn't my first visit to Chili's. I've dined here before. And as usual, I left with a desire for something more to make my experience better. I came here with some family because I was enticed by the 3 for Me deal they were running. This includes a beverage, appetizer and entrée. I got a fountain drink, Caeser Salad as my appetizer and the Chicken Bacon Ranch Quesadillas. We were seated in a booth that was on the tiny side, but compared to the other choices, it had to do. Our waitress came to take our orders immediately, as soon as we sat down, and was extremely fast. Then things started to take a turn service-wise. Read on for that as I'll mention it later. Let's talk about the meal! The beverage was from the machine - it was fine. You can't mess that up. The Caeser Salad, while a little small, was super scrumptious. Not how I would usually describe a salad, but it was that tasty. Crisp lettuce, nice dressing, not too much, nor too little and topped with croutons and cheese. The Chicken Bacon Ranch Quesadillas, for the price, were more of an appetizer. The quantity left a lot to be desired. I expected something more. However the chicken was well seasoned, there was some nice sauce in the quesadillas and some tender pieces of bacon. The portions, while small, did the job. Back to the waitress. She started out with some promise and then towards the end of our meal started to appear less frequently. I guess that's normal, because she had to focus on people who were just coming in. What really irked me was that one of us entered our details in for some free chips and salsa and then when we got the bill, it didn't come off. She gave some weird explanation about the manager being a man and getting angry with her so she couldn't remove the charge. She said "sorry" and walked off. Following that "whatever you call it" moment, we went through several attempts to retrieve the reward by logging in and logging out until it came through. With no help from her. Before the food was sub-par, less than adequate, but the staff was fine. This time it was the opposite. It's always something that's off here. The meals were fresh and delicious, and we joined the Chili's App for free chips and salsa! The waitress took time to enquire whether we can handle hot or mild in our selection. Mild was perfect! The sauces were on the side so we could experiment! From seating to paying the reasonable bill, 38 minutes elapsed. After ordering, the food was on our table in 6 minutes! I had a stop in Chico around lunch, and I remembered I had an e-mail offer for a discount lunch at Chili's. You know me, I love those discounts, and I've had decent food here at Chili's before. Got a table no prob and I had my eye on the rib lunch served with fries. I know not to expect the best smoked ribs at a chain restaurant, where they're probably cook ahead and just reheated, but what the heck, the price was right. You want the best ribs , you go to a rib joint. The food arrives and it looks actually pretty good. The taste was mostly made by the BBQ sauce, which wasn't bad. The fries were hot and crispy, so really not much to complain about. Decent for a chain restaurant. I do like the molten chocolate cake here. I know it's sort of a standard restaurant dessert and yeah, prob not made on site, but what the heck, I'm here. It was served warm and the chocolate was warm and gooey. Sweet as hell, but whatta ya want ... once in a while it's OK. Chili's here in Chico is a decent place with good service and no surprises with the food, ya know what you'll get here, especially if traveling. I'd return again. read more

I had a very disappointing experience today. My boyfriend and I often go to Chili's and have spent a lot of money at this location, including on drinks. I am 23 years old and today I got told my ID was fake by the bartender. She said the background was "too blue". My ID is not fake, it seems like a bartender should be able to tell the difference between a real or fake ID. Very disappointing, especially because the main reason we chose to go to Chili's is for the margaritas. I will not be coming back to this location again, it made the entire experience very uncomfortable. The bartender also seemed like she was around my age, which made it even more insane to me! Girl at the bar was less than attentive. The chicken/bacon quesadilla was weak on the inside. Opened up one slice to find only one small cube of chicken and one small tidbid of bacon on it. W T F ?? Ordered a "Gin an Tonic"!! A very popular bar drink!! Bartender told me higher up management took Tonic water off of the bar menu!!! NO Tonic water what do ever?? W T F ?? Whose stupid idea was this?? Also, they're still setting family's with children in the bar area!!! So my husband and I rarely get to have a date night so when the opportunity came up we decided to go to chili's. We had seen the 3 for me multiple times so that's what we went with. So for the entree we both spent the extra dollar and got a bowl of chili. That was the most disgusting bowl of chili, it was basically pureed with way too much cayenne pepper and spices and WAY too much salt.
