I've been eating at Jack in the box since the mid 1970s. Used to be a favorite of mine. I made the mistake of ordering a fish sandwich for the second time. I forgot about the burnt flavor of the fish patty the last time I ate it. I instantly remembered my first experience when I bit into my second experience. Been ordering munchie meals for years. Went to order munchie meal today and got a SMALL drink with it. Came here last night for a late night bite. I honestly haven't been to jack in a box in a few months but this location has been in my neighborhood for as long as I can remember and I pass by here frequently. I noticed in the past year or so they've done some renovations and the outside and inside looked really nice and modern. We ended up using the drive through and luckily there were no other customers in line and we were able to put in our order quickly. Looking at the menu I saw a lot of new things and some of your old time favorites that have been on the menu for ages. We decided to try something new which was the mini tacos, I'm a fan of jacks regular tacos so we have them a try. We tried the regular and the loaded mini tacos, the loaded tacos were a bit much for my liking and was soggy by the time we ate it due to the gooey cheese topped all over it. The loaded tacos was pretty much mini tacos covered in cheese, taco sauce and lots of lettuce (wasn't a fan). But I have to say that the Avocado Lime Sauce that comes with the mini tacos is the bomb! Like better then butter milk, it's that good! I also got the homestyle chicken sandwich which was great, I'm a sucker for chicken sandwiches and this was good one, not the best but still really good for fast food place. My husband tried a new burger on the menu (sorry I forgot what it was called) but his burger was also very good. Also curly fries were on point, hot and crispy! I have very little complaints about our food, service was quick our order came out right, we enjoyed mostly everything we ordered so it was a win. Will be back in the future. read more

Just a quick comment about this location. I would like to compliment the female cashier working today (1/26/2020 @ 12:45p). They appeared to be really short staffed today (1 mgr, 1 cook and 1 cashier) and it was really busy, both drive thru and inside. In my opinion the cashier did a great job operating the register, filling orders and interacting with customers who had been waiting long for their food. I've seen cashiers freak out in situations like this, but this cashier stayed calm. Good Job! read more

I love Jack in the Box! It is greasy goodness. My favorite thing to order is the sourdough Jack with curly fries, buttermilk sauce and an Oreo ice cream shake. I've recently been ordering the buttery Jack with curly fries. It's pretty good. It has bacon, cheese, a buttery bread and a beef patty. I normally spend around $10 for a meal since I upgrade my fries to curly fries and I get a milkshake instead of a soft drink. I came around the end of a school day and the Drive Thru was backed up with 4 other cars. It did go by fast and the food didn't take long. This location is not as convenient as I would like however, sometimes you gotta go the distance for whatever you're feeling like eating. This is not the first time that the order window has been busy and had only one very old lady trying to manage the counter. There was one person in front of me and a couple people behind me and we were all waiting to order while she filled a HUGE order for the car dealership next door ... Like for possibly 8 people, all by herself. During the 12 minutes we were waiting to order the person in front of me left. You would have thought that if they were out of something, she would've taken the effort to let us know, but that was not the case. It was only after she filled the huge order and it was my turn to order that she told me there was no curly fries or onion rings, which, unfortunately, was two of the 3 things that I drove all the way there for. Another sidenote about Jack in the Box is their rewards program. IT SUCKS! You have to go on the app yourself and punch in your receipt number, which, by the way, you can barely read, because the printed receipt is so light it missing ink! And, you can only redeem awards, if you order online... You can't even go to the counter in order and receive any of the rewards! McDonald's rewards program is way better! read more

Jack In the Box is one of those fast food places that promises the customer that they "won't make it till you order it." It's great that they do this, since it gives the impression of genuine taste and quality. I was here more than a few times when I learned that Jack In the Box did a free 2 taco deal when you buy something and it was on the receipt. So, what was just a random food option choice during the work week turned out to be 5 consecutive days worth of Jack In the Box to redeem all these free 2 taco deals. The catch was that you'd need to take an online survey and write down the confirmation code. Free tacos sounded really good, so a couple of co-workers and I were going here for a good many days till we decided not to come back - at least not till later. Still, this Jack In the Box location is quite hidden and I didn't know this place was here up until 1 year ago - early 2014. The overall experience here is as simple and quick as any fast food restaurant would be. The best part of dining in here - like some fast food restaurants is the free soda refill, it you dine in the restaurant, but you would have to ask them for a refill and take the lid off, since they won't do it for you. I prefer Jack In the Box burgers and fries for their different texture, taste, and quality, almost like any burger restaurant, versus McDonalds and Burger King. The fries are more crisp and the burger is more mouthwatering than the other guys. Still, you get what you pay for, since Jack in the Box food is quite pricey, but the sacrifice is well worth the trip. This Jack in the Box restaurant is located in the cozy confines of Kalihi valley, next to Kuhio Park Terrace. You wouldn't believe it was here since it was a residential area, but it is, serving the needs of the community. They accept credit cards, so that's always a plus. They're kind of pricey, but affordable if you like good taste and quality. For me, it's an alternative to traditional fast food fare that is close to my workplace in Kalihi. For me, it's usually the value menu that attracts me and I load up with tacos, since they're dirt cheap. Although I would recommend the burger combos for their uniqueness, the seasoned curly French fries is what sets Jack in the Box apart. Those seasoned curly Fries are the Bomb, but the cost $3 for a large order. Kind of crazy pricing, but it is what it is. The breakfast menu is always served all day and I am thrilled about the ice cream shakes, since it's made with real ice cream and it takes a while to suck up and guzzle down to soothe one's appetite. Whatever you decide on having on any given day, you might want to check out Jack in the Box here in Kalihi or Oahu wide. The restaurants are relatively clean and most of the time quiet during the post lunch rush, so do yourself a favor and take a late lunch to enjoy your food in quietness - if you prefer. The staff here is quite friendly and they give you a smile to make the work day more pleasant. At least that's what I think. I do like the jack in the box commercials though. It makes me laugh. I go to this Jack in the Box a lot and I do like their consistency with my orders. I always get the same thing if I am making a run to Jack in the Box. Two orders of their 2 tacos ( so a total of 4 tacos ) and an order of curly fries and egg rolls. I don't know what they put in their tacos first of all but they are so good and simple and I love that theirs is half crunchy and half soft. Best part for me because I get the best of both worlds! Anyway, this is the only location that doesn't put the hot taco sauce on my tacos for me before hand. I know I can ask to have no sauce on it but I like to see how each location does it. Do they ask? Do they load on the sauce? Do they put a little and give you more packets so you can do it yourself? Most of the locations will put a lot of sauce and by the time I get it, it's in the hotter (spicy) side for me. I do appreciate that this location allows the customer to determine their own sauce level! My next fav is the egg rolls. The sauce that comes with it is by far one of the best sauces from a drive through that I like because it's not your typical ones like ranch, bbq etc. it has a unique tangy taste that goes well with the egg roll. Pretty good combination in my book. The only thing I don't like is the parking area. After going through the drive through I have a hard time making the right on to N School street to because then I have to go all the way around to get back to my house in Moanalua, so I have to drive back around the parking lot and exit closer to the drive through, which is hard to see cars sometimes but it's a lot safer than trying to go the other way. Another thing that sometimes bothers me about this location is that there can be times when there is a long line and it doesn't move for a long time, or there can be no time but the food still takes forever to come out. Hashbrown was the same the tacos were filled the most I've ever seen from aby jacks. the lettuce crunchy, meat was packed in and topped with sauce you know we had to get buttermilk $0.24 for one (yikes) the Portuguese sausage platter was okay. Drive-thrus are so convenient. There's no need to get out of the car, especially when you have somewhere else to be, like at work. On weekdays when i dont have a chance to prepare breakfast the night before, I make a stop at Jack in the box. I can't go a day without eating breakfast, especially during a long day at work. And because breakfast is the most important meal of the day. I am definitely not a morning person and I do get very grumpy in the morning so it's really nice to have cheerful and energetic workers taking your order. I usually order the Portuguese and eggs breakfast platter. I like to eat it with buttermilk and ketchup. Normally, other places charge for buttermilk but whenever I go to this place, i don't have to worry about looking through my wallet for spare change since I like to use my debit card.
