One guy in the morning was always yawning, later in the day some tend to ignore you as you wait to order, then when they finally take your order they don't smile and display lack of energy. OK, it's Jack-in-the-Box, and national restaurant food chain so that's that. However, this is one of the better ones that I've ever visited. Maybe it's the location, just down the hill from me, or maybe it's because I used to work here many years ago. In either case, they have never messed up my order, even special requests like extra lettuce or extra tomato. I also highly recommend using their app for ordering and payment purposes purposes as all contactless and makes for a much quicker pick up process. Although I hardly ever eat fast food, this is the closest Jack in the Box to my house, so whenever my mom is craving a burger this is where we go. The workers here are all, for the most part, very friendly. A few years ago, when I was in the UH marching band, we would get the free taco tickets after we won a football game. I would always have like ten, and would redeem them to give to homeless people in Waikiki. I used to bring a few friends to each redeem one for me, so the management didn't think it was weird that a small girl was getting 20 tacos, but there was one day none of my friends could help. I reluctantly asked if I could redeem all of my tickets, and the worker gladly did it for me, despite telling me it's usually one per person (to the management, if you're reading this, please don't get mad at that worker lol) This past visit, my mom finished her colonoscopy, and was badly craving a burger. She was pale-faced, wobbly, and sleepy, and the worker who saw her offered her hot tea while we waited for our food. She genuinely seemed concerned, and when we were finally given our order, she told my mom to take care. Food is what you'd expect from a fast food joint - fast, cheap, decent, and nothing mind-blowing, but it's the service here that makes me choose this place instead of any other when I have to get fast-food. read more

I rarely get fast food but stopped here late one night after a long day of travel. Should be renamed slow food, the drive through was the slowest service I've ever experienced. They got my order wrong and we noticed right away. We asked for a correction and cashier obliged. Foolishly we didn't check the entire bag when we finally pulled away with the new "corrected" order, we realized that they forgot to give us our entire order. Worst part is we were charged for it. Food we were given was cold. We thought about going back to get a refund for the food we never received but decided against it because the service was soo slow and I was too tired to wait in that line again. I don't recall ever visiting a Jack-in-the-Box and never really had the desire to eat there due to the whole e.coli incident during the 90's. That was until the guys I was working with told me that they server a local menu of spam, eggs, and rice. Being that this was my first time on the island and I love spam, I stopped by in the morning to pick up the deluxe meal with spam, portuguese sausage, and eggs over rice. It's not like it's a gourmet meal, but the novelty of ordering something like this at a fast food chain was cool. It was a very filling meal for breakfast, and didn't have much of an appetite for lunch. They also have a drive through which is great for grabbing a bite on the go. Walked in to order food, they told us they didn't have any soda, so we just assumed that meant that all of the soda machines weren't working. Right after we pay, another guy walked up and asked for a refill and they refilled his soda with cherry coke. We then said "i thought you guys didn't have soda?" I frequent this location because it's close to home. I don't normally feel led to leave a review, but tonight was different. There was a long line (Friday night rush) and it seemed like it was gonna take forever. Not the case. I was at the order menu within 5 minute (4 cars ahead of me). I placed my order. The person who took my order was very calm and patient. He didn't make me feel like he was rushing me. Took my order and made sure to say thank you. I drove all over looking for a salad all the salads at Diamond Head Grill have meat on them I figured I'd have some french fries but when I drove into Jack-in-the-Box they have four different kinds of salads I had the side salad it was so satisfying I don't eat meat and I can't stand eating fake meat the salad was perfect and the person helping me was really sweet and nice to me too. Jack in the box. This location is convenient for me, on my way to or from work. I end up getting breakfast here more often than lunch/dinner food. The breakfast burritos are ok, not bad for the price and they fill me up. They also come with the tiniest half filled container of salsa. There is usually a short line and the workers here are fast enough. On my most recent visit, I tried the Portuguese sausage breakfast platter because I had seen several commercials for it. I pulled up to the order board and saw that it was listed for $4.69 and not $3.99 as advertised. It did end up only being $3.99, so I guess it's a special promotion and it is usually $4.69. Anyways, when the cashier handed it to me, it was lopsided in the bag and so when I opened the plastic container, all the food was smashed to one side. Not a great presentation. I like the eggs more than the McDonald's Portuguese sausage, eggs and rice, but I don't like the Kikoman soy sauce that came with it. I'm an aloha shoyu girl through and through. I like zippys breakfast bentos more than either McDonald's or jack in the box anyway, so I probably won't be back for it. There was one instance in which I walked in to order food for some reason. I enjoy Jack In the Box as much as the next guy. It's nice to have multiple locations across Oahu, so everyone can enjoy its delicious offerings. One of my earliest memories of Jack in the Box was the curly fries. I thought they were the only ones that did that. I've come to this Jack in the Box a bunch of times before this recent visit on April 2020. It was the first time using my Jack In the Box mobile app for this purchase though. I was glad that the dining room was open, so that I could come in and pick up my order. Otherwise, I probably would have walked into the drive thru window and asked for my order, which I was prepared to do. My experience here was under 10 minutes, since I had to make sure the dining room was open first - as I wasn't sure. It was good that there was a sign on posted on the entrance that it was open for take out orders. And so, I proceeded to order on my Jack in the Box app and waited a few minutes before entering the store. Once inside the restaurant, the ladies at the counter greeted me and asked what I wanted. It was nice to see them happy in the midst of this pandemic. The service here was quick, casual, and friendly. I told them I ordered on the mobile app and they said okay. I waited about 5 more minutes before they presented me with my order and I said thank you. It was quick really and I headed out the door to enjoy my meal elsewhere. The rest of the dining room was closed off for dine in options, which is disappointing due to the pandemic situation. They are open for take out options whenever we are craving for Jack in the Box cuisine! I am happy that this place is close enough to my home, although about a 2 mile walk, which isn't too bad, especially when you have a craving on a Sunday afternoon. The overall experience here at this Jack in the Box was short and sweet. With the Jack in the Box mobile app, you can chiefly enjoy special deals and possibly free food when purchasing your meals on the app. I did enjoy the ambiance of this restaurant, even though it was quiet and low key due to the COVID-19 ongoing crisis. This Jack in the Box location is centrally situated at 633 Kapahulu Avenue in the heart of the Kapahulu district of urban Honolulu. They accept major credit cards inside the store, but only 2 types of credit cards while using the mobile app. As far as parking goes, they have a spacious but limited parking space for anyone and everyone who love Jack in the Box. They also have a specialized dedicated drive thru option for those of y'all who want to take your meal out on the road. If you are like me, bus routes 3, 13, 14, 24 pass through the area and stops at or nearby. Route 3 stops on Mooheau Avenue, about a block from the restaurant. Routes 13, 14, and 24 stops on Kapahulu Avenue in front of the restaurant or nearby. It's quite handy for anyone to come here for a quick bite. For the most part though, the experience here at Jack in the Box during the COVID-19 era has been interesting. I rather would have liked to sit down and eat my meal, but it is what it is. My favorites here at Jack in the Box would normally be the 2 tacos or the curly fries, which is probably their signature offerings. More recently, I have come to know the $7 munchie meal, which includes a specialty sandwich of your choice. I prefer the stacked grilled cheese burger and followed by the spicy nacho chicken sandwich. The others are pretty good but not my favorites. They are joined by 2 tacos, a blend of curly and regular french fries, along with a small drink, but I usually get the medium drink upgrade. That usually is a nice meal in itself really. Maybe 6 tacos would have been cheaper with a drink, but I couldn't live without my curly fries. A trip to Jack in the Box can be a good one. It can be more expensive than McDonalds, but the quality of the food is up there, even though its typical fast food. Went there tonight , workers sleeping in dining area and other workers hanging around with regular street clothes . Doesn't look good as a business . They treat their work place like a playground . Ok so when it comes to catch phrases: Mc D's = "I'm Loving It!", BK = "Have It Your Way" and Jack in the Box is "Jack's Back!" With that being said. Jack in the Box aka JITB truly lives up to its catch phrase. I can't keep up with all the new things they are coming out with. We saw the advertisement for Jack's Brew House Burger and take it from me, the person who goes all over the place trying out burgers as well as making some good ones myself, that this my Yelp friends is a winner. So much so, that I had to get one for my better half and she said, "if she didn't know it was from JITB, that she would of thought I got it from a burger place as it was that good. We also tried their garlic fries. It was very tasty but kind of on the oily side. None the less it tasted good. Keeping up with the theme of Jack's back! Last month they offered their breakfast platters for $3.99. We tried them all within a months time. We really like their Portugese eggs and rice better than the I'm loving it guys. The eggs are way better and it seems to come from real eggs and not from a box or something. Even at $4 something it is still a good deal when you are on the run and can't make your own breakfast. Are you on a diet? Don't worry they have some awesome salads. The Chicken Club Salad, the Southwest Chicken Salad, Grilled Chicken Salad and if you are not that hungry they have a side salad. My favorite is the Southwest Chicken Salad. It's a blend of romaine, iceberg and spring lettuce that comes with shredded pepper jack cheese, corn, those small grape tomatoes, black beans, and their special creamy southwest dressing. So many times I have been to this jack in the box before and they never seem to get things right! Here are just a few of my experiences from this past week. 12/26/15- I decided to come to jack in the box because I love the croissant sandwich, I ordered that with a Sprite ( which the soda here is always nasty! They need to check the syrup or something because it's gross! Taste like straight up carbonated water. Any who I go through the drive thru and as soon as I look into the back my Order was correct! Thank heavens for that! Now the downfall is because as soon as I start to eat my sandwich something tasted funky! I mean something was really sour. I think it was the meat in the sandwich that was spoiled or something, so I ended up having to throw it all away, and I didn't want to call to complain I was already having a good day I didn't want to ruin it anymore then my breakfast was lol. 12/28/15- So we get to jack in the box and pull up to the window (it's about 7:30pm) we order a number 15 (chicken teriyaki bowl) and fries (instead of the spring roll) and a Sprite! The lady repeats. "OK SO 15 jalapeño popper and fries" aaaahhhh what? We corrected her and it took her a few times to fully comprehend our order, I mean really it was simple. Anyway long story short we get home with our meal, I open my chicken bowl and I was like "damn they hooked it up there's hella chicken in this bowl" LOL low and behold the rice was not even cooked!
