    The new burger

They changed the menu and they raised the munchie meal Price's to $10. They also changed the burger as well and made it smaller. The burger was gross and made me want to throw up, the old burger was definitely better. I am disappointed

    Where the meat though.

The squash blossom tacos and quesadilla were EXCELLENT. And the rice and beans are super (refried beans are vegetarian - we asked). The tortillas alone are worth the price of admission. If you are placing a big order or future order, expect wait times longer than expected (approx 15 mins or more). The morning crew are a bit unorganized handling customers coming in and future orders for pickup. I've placed 3 separate orders this past couple months for the taco box. Each time, I've placed (3) taco boxes for a 10:15am pickup for corporate lunch. The first time was via. local by toast (paid in advance and schedule pickup) second time I visited the restaurant and placed my order in person, and third time I played via. Local by toast and even called afterwards to confirm order and pickup date / schedule. The first time, they completely forgot our order and we waited 30 minutes to make. The second time, they did the same thing but thought that the pickup date was for a different date and we had to wait 30 minutes. The third time, I came in at 10:05am and didn't see any boxes being made. Only saw the worker prepping the other orders. I checked in and 5 minutes later, they started prepping the boxes. They finished the boxes and were still frying the tortilla chips and prepping the guacamole. They also forgot the burrito that was placed as well. We had to wait another 30 minutes.

In long I came in for lunch on a quiet Friday--one party of friends was leaving, one party of co-workers was filling up another table. The dining room felt super empty right at lunch hour. Probably could seat 50 people. Dude was working the floor by himself. They have some flat screens up, showing whatever's clever. There's a full bar, but the cocktail menu is even shorter than the food menu, which isn't long. They seem to want to go for that family-place vibe, including the sports-focused bar area, but their space just isn't big enough to really bring that to life. I ordered carne asada for $28. You get a nice serving of steak with real grill marks and nice smoky aroma and flavor. Rice, beans, a little guac, some pico, and 3 tortillas. Hearty enough for lunch, though the menu says "dinner portion only," and that made me wonder for a second if lunch portions are usually much smaller. All the flavors were right on, and dude kept my iced tea full. Word of mouth on this place is kinda mixed around here, despite the solid rate here. I'd go back, but even just for the sports-bar/family-Mexican restaurant segment, there are multiple options nearby that have more resources (even if the food here is just as good).

In long They have been tearing it up a few minutes south of here, lost their lease, opened this one, and then re-opened the OG location not far from where it used to be. 2 brothers run the empire, one at each spot. It's a nicely crowded strip of good restaurants, among other businesses, on a busy stretch of 99 just up the highway from where 405 and 5 meet. Easy to get to. They don't have the crazy variety of proteins that some other local spots have, but the beef, chicken, and pork all show up as an option on most of the items. Tacos, burritos, plates, sopes, some other fun stuff. Big cooler of Jarritos sitting right where it should. It's a big dining room with at least a dozen tables, but the menu is nicely focused for sure. Staff are super friendly, and there's a pastry case up front by the register. Order up front so you can drool on the pastries...then they bring out your food. I had the steak picado, which was a nicely-seasoned mix of chopped skirt steak grilled on the flattop with chopped peppers. Good rice and beans and corn tortillas. But holy cow, those salsas. Just perfectly balanced. I just tried the ones they bring out automatically--next time I'll ask for a spicy one if they have it. These had just the right kick, using heat as part of the flavor rather than as a wrecking ball. I was out the door with a to-go plate for family, my big steak tacos plate, and a Jarritos for a little over $30. The kid behind the counter could not have been sweeter, and there was a steady stream of regulars getting to-go orders, even on St Patricks Day. I love this spot already and I am so glad it is so close to my place.
