This review update is for the service only. I would highly recommend eating in-house as it's better when fresh. If you are placing a big order or future order, expect wait times longer than expected (approx 15 mins or more). The morning crew are a bit unorganized handling customers coming in and future orders for pickup. I've placed 3 separate orders this past couple months for the taco box. Each time, I've placed (3) taco boxes for a 10:15am pickup for corporate lunch. The first time was via. local by toast (paid in advance and schedule pickup) second time I visited the restaurant and placed my order in person, and third time I played via. Local by toast and even called afterwards to confirm order and pickup date / schedule. The first time, they completely forgot our order and we waited 30 minutes to make. The second time, they did the same thing but thought that the pickup date was for a different date and we had to wait 30 minutes. The third time, I came in at 10:05am and didn't see any boxes being made. Only saw the worker prepping the other orders. I checked in and 5 minutes later, they started prepping the boxes. They finished the boxes and were still frying the tortilla chips and prepping the guacamole. They also forgot the burrito that was placed as well. We had to wait another 30 minutes. read more

There's a plancha on the left and you order when you walk in. Big menus hanging from signboards over the work area. Row of tables and chairs over there. I was in pretty early today and half the tables were already taken. People know this place is here, 'cause this place knows what's up. The kids are nice--super-quick, always getting stuff done. Maybe not the chattiest but that's alright. I checked out a carnitas taco, 'cause ya gotta have a street taco at a place like this, regardless of what else you order. It was good! Chewy tortilla, tons of fresh toppings, pork maybe coulda been a little moister but it sure hit the spot. And that salsa bar...damn. 6 kinds, plus limes and other stuff you need for your tacos, and little to-go cups too. 3 different salsas just on the spicy side, and every single one was legit, showing good flavors and nice tingling warmth. It's only about the size of a side table (plus a sneeze hood), but you don't need much space to make a great salsa bar. I also got the mole poblano. They go kinda hard with the cinnamon, so I wouldn't probably get this on a hot day 'cause it's closer to the dessert end of the spectrum for my tastes. But it's still complex--it's a very good mole--and the chicken was magic under it. Great rice and beans. So comforting, just makes you smile to eat it. I gotta admit, today's been a long day and I can honestly say this food was good enough to make my mind stop running hither and thither and just enjoy the fact that these folks do a few things very, very well. I mean...they offer street tacos in 15-taco party packs. They're putting in the work, and people know it. 5 more parties came in while I was there, and it still wasn't dinner time. The establishment: The restaurant is wonderful! They have a salad bar like setup for the sauces and additives with labels on them! You can choose as much sauce as you want, more places should do this. The food: I ordered the signature asada burrito which comes as two smaller burritos. I was underwhelmed with the taste of the burritos and the taste of the sauces. I've had a lot of taquerias and this one just didn't taste as well I would've thought. Unfortunately, when I got home, I was really disappointed. The burrito lacked flavor, had barely any cream, and was mostly filled with lettuce. Definitely not what I expected. My partner ordered street tacos, but they were also pretty bland. The one highlight was the salsa options, they were tasty! Such a cool spot! I found it by chance while flying into PAE nearby. Glad I found it too. This little strip mall looks like a cute little story book craftsman style strip mall. Even QFC was muted and all white. Super cute. This place was super busy, friendly and welcoming. It was 100 degrees day but I chose to sit outside: very nice and cool around 7 pm. Plus, you get to see all the planes land! Food: Sopes / good! Very filling. I had tinga and carne asada. Tacos: yumm!! Chicken was delicious. Salsa was delicious too. Salsa bar : the best! The food is delicious and fresh ! The establishment has a walk up to order style. The ladies working behind the food bar are pleasant, work quickly and seem to be working efficiently as well. We ordered chips with guacamole, rice & beans, halibut street tacos, vegetable street tacos, carnitas street tacos and asada street tacos! I tried their warm vegetable street taco; the vegetable taco busted with SO much flavor ! Also, the vegetable taco had different textures which I loved. My partner said they "tasted authentic and delicious." Rice & beans was good. The rice was perfectly cooked and seasoned. Beans seemed to be a little bland and little too watery of a consistent FOR ME. However, I am from Miami where beans are a staple, almost every where you go. I might be too picky to judge beans. Also, beans are my favorite food in the world; so for the average person these beans are good. The guacamole with chips were yummy too! They have a few out door seating ( I am hoping when they bring more people they will add heaters to keep you warm while enjoying their dishes.) Al Pastor Tacos Carne Asada Tacos Rice and Beans It was really good. For the price I can't complain. Super tasty and clean. The tacos were topped with meat more than my taco could hold so the extra meat leftover was added to my rice and beans which weren't at all dry or nasty. So. I don't have pictures but everything I ordered looked exactly like the pictures already presented by past visitors. I ordered: 3 Tacos; carne asada, lengua, and carnitas. 2 burritos (both carnitas but I had asked for one carnitas and one carne asada but I guess there was a misunderstanding which is okay) Chips and guacamole 1 horchata 2 Mexican coca colas All food was decent. Nothing special. The chips were already sitting in a bag so that was a let down. They'd probably be superb if hot and salted to order but meh. The guacamole was decent, I'd recommend adding salt and lime / lemon to your own taste. The tacos were good. The best part was the handmade tortillas. Always a plus when you have handmade tortillas. All soft shell. The meats could of been hotter temperature wise. They all tasted as they should but nothing stood out . I will say that the addition of pork belly In the carnitas is definitely delicious but nothing worth writing home about. The burritos were good. They are compact but packed. Two is nice. I saved one for a later dinner that evening. I wouldn't mind trying the rice and beans on their own but the burritos' were sufficient enough for a taste. Horchata was good. If I ate there I'd probably get a refill. They also have a salsa bar that has a good variety plus the classic limes and pickled carrots an onions. I tried the majority but nothing stood out. I'd say try them yourself and you might find a winner. My total was a disappointment though. Roughly 47$ including tip. I have no problem dropping money on food, especially in terms of trying out a new spot. But afterwards I'd say it wasn't worth the price. Cheaper would be better but it wouldn't fix everything. Sometimes the food, timing, hunger level etc come together perfectly and you wonder if that's the best meal you've ever had. I had this magical moment with the chicken taco platter. 4 Street tacos (2 bites and each one is gone) with side of rice and beans were perfect. The chicken tacos with their tomatillo sauce and poblano sauce were sublime. The beans were creamy and smooth. The rice was awesome - soft and perfectly cooked without being too oily. I'm so sorry to post this but Mexican this place is not. If you like your Mexican bland and not authentic then five stars come right this way. Ended up here after another local spot was closed for interior painting. I love Mexican food, but can honestly say, I really wasn't in the mood this day. But I needed something fast and assumed this would hit the spot. Service was slow, but friendly. I had two tacos, rice and beans. The menu here was limited, but if you like Mexican, you'll be taken care of. The chorizo taco was unlike any Chorizo I've ever had before, it was good, but didn't taste like chorizo to me. I also had a carnitas taco and I didn't like it. It had pork belly, which gave it a fatty texture, it didn't have much flavor and I quickly regretted it. They had a pretty impressive salsa bar, however, most were closer to sauces than salsas. The rice and beans were nothing special and if I had to do over, I would have gone with chips and guacamole instead. Again, everyone was kind, so I'll just leave it right there and let you draw your own conclusion. As advised, I wasn't exactly in the mood for Mexican, but I can say with complete certainty, this is no where near a 5 star stop or even 4 stars for that matter. I seriously found the food to be average. If I lived in the area, I would give these guys another try, but I certainly wouldn't drive out of my way to get here. We were starving so we ordered chilaquiles , sopes and mole. The mole was the best it's really authentic housemade and super deli!!! The tortillas are also made here are super fresh and tasty. The chilaquiles were good, sopes were also really good but what really made the difference was the salsas who were a perfect match for the sopes. Too expensive for the quantity. Price came out to be $15 for a tiny shrimp taco and an al pastor taco plate that comes with 4 tacos and rice and beans.
