Lauren, the gal who works at the kiosk/check in desk is phenomenal! Always super friendly, professional and very much a problem solver! There was a billing issue at the start of the year but the owner/manager worked with us immediately to resolve it so we opted to stay and I'm so glad we did! My daughter who is 6 enjoys her weekly sessions. I booked two classes back to back because it's just better for us for her to have longer times in the pool since we don't live close to this school. So far it has worked out great. I also like that the facility opened in September 2025 (which was when we first joined) so it's still new and things are still kept clean. I like that my daughter gets to swim with different instructors every now and then because I believe each one has their own techniques and way of swimming that might click for some kinds and not others. The only way to know is to actually try it! My daughter knows how to swim now but we still go here every week so that she can work on her form and technique. This kiddie swim school opened last month with free swim classes. For SEP 2025, the enrollment offer is 50% off the first month of classes. My 10 year old was too large and skilled for this swim school. Pool is shallow. I'd say target age range is 3-6, maybe? Mommie and me classes? Hard to find the entrance. It's set pretty far back as compared to the sporting goods, the mall or Marshall's, so you'd have a tough time seeing the entrance. TL;DR - brand new facility, lots of kids and parents here. 30 minute sessions, different instructors most of the time. Taking my kid out because I think she's too young right now. They take feedback here very seriously. Will be back one day! This is a brand new facility the opened at del amo mall. Everything looks really nice from the pool itself, the equipment used to teach the kids, the changing areas, and everything in between. We've been coming here since their soft opening and it really helped my kid get used to being in the water. The sessions are 30 minutes long and the instructors usually work with 1-3 kids during that timeframe. So you can expect your kid to get about 10-15 minutes of attention during these sessions. We didn't get the same instructor every time but my child didn't seem to have a problem with that. Given the slow progression with the learning, we are going to be taking a break from the program. It's not because of the school but we feel our kid is on the younger side and doesn't speak English comfortably. There are kids of all ages here and they're assigned based on their age and skill level. It's a solid school. I think there is an unfair amount of low reviews here because of the lack of attention provided by the staff to the parents.. but we've always been greeted when we arrive and leave. Coach Annie is also very involved and you can tell she takes feedback very seriously. Maybe they saw the reviews and made changes ASAP so we never really noticed these issues lol. If you think about it, there's literally 30-50 parents in the facility at all times, and classes are every 30 minutes... that's A LOT of people to greet throughout the day! For the folks that have this place less than 5 stars, there is something wrong with you. This place is clean, big, and very well organized. They also offer make up classes if you miss your session which is a must if you have two kids and a job; thanks for this feature. There are also like 20 changing rooms and very clean bathrooms. There about 10 shower to so my kiddo gets showered and ready for bed here. The staff and teachers are all super nice, well trained, and just great all around. It's pretty crazy how many bad reviews there are. I would admit when I first came in, although I was told to come in 15 minutes early for a tour, I wasn't greeted warmly and was told check in was 5 minutes before class. I went to the other front desk person and said hey the email said to arrive 15 minutes early. He told me it's just to explore the facility unguided. I said ok didn't really pay no mind to it and went to dick's until it was time. When it was time I checked my kid in, we lined up were given our swim lanes and we were told to sit against the wall until the other children came out from their session. Then it was our turn. I took my child to the given swim lane introduced us all and allowed the instructor to take over and walked out to sit behind the glass. And thank God because it was hot in there. This is perfect for the swimmers but not for the watchers (me)! The instructor Gavin was very patient. I thought he and his assistant were great with the kids. There were 3 kids (sometimes there are 2 per instructor) however the 3rd child was a bit restless and rowdy and barely paying attention. I appreciated how Gavin handled the situation not getting frustrated or annoyed but also not wasting too much time and energy, taking time away from my child and the 2nd child, who both were invested in learning. This was my first time taking my 3 yr old to swimming lessons and I honestly really enjoyed it. It's a kids place so it's as organized as it could be. I loved that the instructors understood they were dealing with children and every child has their own learning curve. I also loved the showers for the kids, the changing rooms, the disposable bag roller on the wall for wet clothes and how colorful the place was. Annie was great with promoting the facility as well and helping us understand the terms and conditions with signing up. I've read the reviews but I had a totally different experience. I would definitely recommend this place and it helps that my child loves it and I think that's the most important thing. I want to make a suggestion to the app: can it have past lessons and which instructor we had. The navigation is also better on the web version rather than the app. I'm not great at remembering names although each instructor introduces themselves. I wanted to take the time to write a review for Benjamin C. He is an amazing coach who knows exactly how to connect with children and make them feel comfortable and motivated. He does a wonderful job incorporating visual learning techniques and keeps the lessons fun by playing with the kids in between activities. My daughter's swim has regressed here. Prior to coming here she would swim head under water and was almost a swimmer (she's 3). Here they put floaties in their backs so now she just tries to doggy paddle. Also, her swim instructor never ever smiles. We tried a class today and my little one loves the water and was excited as soon as they saw where we were but the positives ended there. The experience with the staff was terrible from the moment we walked in the door. No greeting, no direction - just blank stares. When we asked about checking in, we were berated about being late despite arriving almost 10 minutes before the class start time. Zero customer service skills and/or ability to break their script. It only got worse as we entered the pool. The young kid/"teacher" again gave no greeting or direction and instead made everything extremely awkward for myself and the others in the group with their odd comments and minimal direction. The staff needs some serious training and not just to be given a script on what to say to people but actually work with humans and care about what they're doing. Regarding the pool - it felt like a sauna inside which was pretty gross and class sizes are way too full. read more

The good: I signed up both of my kids for a trial class. It was easy to sign up online. They are very technologically organized and the facility is new, modern and has an interesting and open foyer area. They have lots of instructors teaching all at once and their hours go pretty late for a swim school. Three of the 5 workers I interacted with were very friendly and accommodating (the other 2 just neutral or slightly negative). The bad: Google maps has the wrong address and it took me a while to find the right place. I had to look at photos online to see that it was by Dicks Sporting goods rather than by Dave and Busters. The immediate parking lot was full so I had to park a bit further. The pool was SUPER crowded on a weekday evening. I was very surprised by how packed the place was and how much pressure there was to move along in their system in order to keep the chaos organized. My daughter refused to go in the water and felt overwhelmed by the whole process. This isn't the school's fault but I do feel that the small lane spaces, parents watching from behind glass windows, large groups and small bathrooms did make it feel overwhelming. I could tell that the swim instructor wasn't too happy with how much my daughter physically resisted being handed to her into the water. My kid was really resistant to going in so the worker above the water offered for me to hand my daughter to the teacher inside the water who was already teaching another kid. So, that other kid's lesson got interrupted by my daughter being handed off to the teacher. I wasn't able to take my 2nd kid to the mommy and me class because it was happening at the same time as my daughter's class and I wasn't able to leave her until she got in the water. I know the big crowd is just due to it being newly opened and a lot of new customers trying out their free trials. I'd like to come back at another time when it is less overwhelming. The interesting: They were kind enough to offer my daughter try another trial class since she only briefly made it into the water. It's definitely very warm and humid in the class. I think overall this was nice so you don't get cold but I was definitely sweaty being outside of the water and being in that room for around 20 minutes as I wrangled with my kid who refused to go into the water. read more

You have a different instructor every week, which I did not mind at first since the instructors were great. Unfortunately, after switching to an earlier time slot, the instructor was just not happy to be there. She spent more time questioning another staff member about her kids than actually teaching them in the pool. Then the staff assigned my daughter to a deeper level of the pool. My daughter just started last month, and is still not comfortable swimming at such a deeper level. My daughter almost drowned. Instead of encouragement, the instructor told my daughter that if she's tired, she can go home. That is only 10 minutes from the start of the lessons. She keeps repeating it in front of other kids who could hear. My child was embarrassed by the instructor's statement. read more

The staff here just isn't fit for kids -- at all. My kids came in super excited, and right away I could tell the vibe was off. At check-in, the staff just stared at them -- no "hi," no "welcome," nothing -- until it was time to take their names. Then when they went to their lane a few minutes early, the instructor gave them such an annoyed look I almost walked in myself. He told them to sit down like they were doing something wrong. If you don't like working with kids, why work at a kids' place? It made me so uncomfortable that I went straight to the front desk and asked for a different instructor. Thankfully, they switched them, and the rest of the evening was fine -- but honestly, the energy from the staff the whole time felt tired, unbothered, and like they just didn't want to be there. The place itself is nice -- new, clean, and shiny -- but that only goes so far. I want my kids to be in a space with good energy and people who actually enjoy being around children. I have been looking for a swimming lesson program for my 5 year old that focuses on swim technique and safety and am so excited to finally find it. The location just opened but the staff has been great and very communicative in his progress, what I can expect and has helped us navigate some of the hurdles that can be expected of a new facility. My 4 year old takes lessons here with Ms. Lauren and at South Bay Aquatics and we like Big Blue way better. We've had two instructors here and we liked both but my daughter absolutely loves Ms. Lauren. This place is terrible. I had my 5 and 3 year olds take swim classes here. Every time we went, there was a different teacher for my 3 year old so it's like starting from scratch all over again. Worse is that no one was even making notes of his progress. So after over a month of going there, no one wrote down his progress. For example, my son can definitely float on his own but it wasn't filled in. His progress page has nothing written down. As for my 5 year old, we went on a vacation with a pool access and he started swimming in the deep end unassisted on the second day of vacation and by the end he was swimming 40 feet laps. When we came back to this swim school, I communicated that to his swim instructor Gavin. The instructor ignored me and kept him in the same class. Then I went to the front office with my concerns, and the girl said she'll make a note of that so my son can take a placement test next time we come in. Then, when I booked makeup classes for my sons on a Saturday. We got all ready and came to class, they informed us that they have canceled them. We just canceled our memberships right then. This swim school also puts floaties on the kids while learning to swim which I thought was the opposite of what you're supposed to do. read more

My child has been coming here for almost a month but it does not seem like it considering half of classes has been canceled. The instructors are great but the "facility issues" they experience needs to be fixed. Offering just a make up class is okay but monetary compensation would be nice considering people waste time and gas to only receive a text 5 minutes before their lesson starts saying that it is canceled. Don't waste your money or your time. This place tries to hook you in with 4 classes for $37. The classes are at most 25 minutes long. They don't let your kids into the pool area until the start time. Add in a dumb welcome song and an even dumber goodbye song and you have like 15 minutes of actual "class". Then 5 minutes before the end time - some person walks around yelling for the "coaches" to end their class. Classes repeat the exact same thing each week since people attending each week vary. "Coaches" barely explain each exercise then stop paying attention. It's up to you to do them with your kid based on the little bit you learned from their poor explanation. Honestly, I don't even think the "coach" for my son's class knows how to swim or teach. Haven't really seen either. And to top it off - they make you cancel 30 days in advance. So by the time you show up at the first lesson - you're already on the hook for the first full price one after the trial. Don't waste your time. Edit: 10 days after this review the "general manager" keeps trying to reach out asking for my phone number. No thanks! We are 3 lessons in and can't wait to be done. Only going now to let my son play in the water since it's paid for. No value at all as a school. Also - beware of the fake reviews - the only 5 star reviews are strangely similar hahahaha read more
