If you're more of the collector type, there is also a nice-sized housewares section with lots of fun knick-knacks. My favorite thing about visiting here is that I don't have to spend lots of time searching for things. I am always greeted warmly by the volunteers, and strike up genuine conversations each trip. The shelves are abundant but still well-organized, offering everything from home decor to utilities to crafting supplies. Prices are fair and affordable, which is so refreshing amidst the overcharging of big corporations. I appreciate this especially as a college student on a budget. And every purchase I make goes toward the most precious animals! I visit them frequently, too. :) I'm so excited for the opportunities that their relocation and expansion will bring; I can't wait to swing by the animal corner at the front once it's been developed!

There's an eclectic mix of stuff. Prices can be just OK or totally super value. I always have to make sure I have a wad of cash if I go in because it's a rare day that I leave empty handed. Fun dishes, kitchen implements, groovy clothes, hats, random bits of hardware, and who even knows WHAT you'll find. Sometimes I just have to leave things I want because I already have enough stuff. But wow. Just wow. Then there's the staff. Is it OK to call them staff? They are volunteers. They do their work because they love the Humane Society. You know what? That's awesome too! Their revenue goes to the local Humane Society and provides over a quarter of the Humane Society's annual budget. That's huge. The staff is also friendly and helpful. I better get on down there; it's been a couple days!

Vintage dreams come true, at a price!…read more We loved our browse in the two level, everything under one roof, Albany Antique Mall. Many vendors here have such aesthetically appealing displays. It is getting towards the Holidays, and vintage Christmas decorations were out in force. There are treasures to be found, but vendors know their goods, and prices $$$ can reflect that. We found some amazing finds for our vintage Christmas collection, but there were definitely items out of reach that we just couldn't justify. Definitely worth a browse if you are a fan of vintage!

The last few times I've been in over the years since, the employees lack of service has made me leave without purchasing. I tried again today and I didn't think it could get worse. There was no acknowledgment when we entered or even when we approached the desk. My husband asked if they had Murphy beds and the disinterested sales man said nope and went back to staring at his computer. We wandered the store looking for alternative options. An elderly couple who could barely walk approached the sales man and asked for dining room sets. The man pointed up and said 2nd floor. He didn't offer any other help. I told the couple in front of the sales man that there was an elevator lift that the salesperson could take them up. The salesman didn't say anything or offer. The couple shuffled off looking for the lift. I caught up to them and told them the salesman would need to take them up. They decided to just leave since they weren't offered help. There's a little bit of everything in this place, which isn't huge and overwhelming, like some antique stores with multiple levels of junk. This was fairly small but packed in a lot of interesting things in the space they had. I ended up buying a vintage whiskey bottle from 1973 of a Condor--perfect for my unique collection of items I keep on or around my desk. Next time I'm in Albany, I'll pay them another visit to see what new treasures they've acquired.
