This place is exactly what a thrift store should be. It is well organized. It is run by friendly folks who are very helpful. You know where the money you spend is going and feel good about it. The best treasures to hunt for here are clothes and shoes. If you're a clothes hound, this is the place for you. There are large selections, things are easy to find, and everything is very reasonably priced. Men, women, boys, girls . . . equal representation for all! If you're more of the collector type, there is also a nice-sized housewares section with lots of fun knick-knacks. My favorite thing about visiting here is that I don't have to spend lots of time searching for things. The store is incredibly tidy and if I'm looking for anything specific, the workers are extremely helpful. I will be sure to stop by every time I am in the area . . . 5 stars well-deserved! read more

We have always donated to the store when it was smaller and on second or third Avenue. We are moving and took a large car full of all sorts of very nice things to donate. The woman that came to the car was extremely rude and said what did you get all this stuff at a garage sale? She hand picked through everything and only took the items that she wanted and was acting really inappropriate for the fact that we were giving them a bunch of free stuff that they could sell and make money. We will never go back there. We will never donate to it again And will tell all of our friends not to donate there or go there because of this woman. read more

I use to love this store! But over time they started getting expensive. I finally went to the new building, and my oh my their prices have jumped even higher! The prices are worse than Goodwill. Unfortunately I won't be supporting this place anymore. read more

This store lost it's way when they rebranded from Teen Challenge to Super thrift. Their prices skyrocketed, the selection plummeted and the store just generally took a massive dive. The employees are nice and everything, but the store is just a dump now. All of the joy and fun of shopping with them has gone away. The furniture is especially egregious with the prices. This place could be a case study on how a second hand store goes from universally loved to losing almost all of their regular customers. To add to that, they rigged their google reviews by bribing customers to leave a good review for a chance to get something for free or at a discount. This used to be a spot I regularly shopped at, sometimes multiple times a week, to now being a place I might visit once a month or so, just to see if things are improving or not. read more

The manager is treating it like a high-end resale store. Many of the items are overpriced. For a charity that helps people in recovery they sure are making a profit. It's a shame that prices have tripled since this manager has come into power. read more

The selection of things vary, when we went it wasn't too ouch but everything was beautiful! All wood vintage pieces for CHEAP, I grasped a hoodie for my son, a pair of Air Force ones, and a opposing stuffed animal lol. The lady at the front was very kind, and the volunteer there was so cute as well. One thing to really keep in mind is that the volunteers here are typically special needs, so if they sound rude or strange just know that they mean well. read more

Fun store lots of cool furniture. Staff are incredibly friendly and go out of their way to help you find what youre looking for. Appearance is always nice as well, where as some thrift stores leave tous and clothingon the floor for people to trip over Very refreshing to see care put into it. read more

What a crock of bull! For two weeks we have a reservation for them to pick up a bed frame a dresser a couch and a few other items. Plus several boxes of donatable dishes and small things. We confirmed they could they could pick up small things and they had pictures of all of the larger items! We have two days left before we fly out and no way to get things anywhere else. They had 2 weeks to see pictures and could have said they did not want stuff. Or if there are two or three items they didn't want on arrival they could take the rest. Nope! They just declined to lift a finger and accept anything. Including a mountain bike that is in amazing condition. What is wrong with this place to put people in this kind of position, when they are making money off of your donations? We've given them soooooo much already. I'm so disappointed and now we have to rent a uhaul just to throw away a bunch of good things, because we don't have time to do anything else. read more

Eh. Prices are pretty good but the selection usually sucks. They don't seem to get higher quality used goods and clothes. Not sure why. And the Christian music blasted thru the store can get a bit annoying. Good book and record selections tho. read more

Thrift shop was an awesome hidden gem and found a lot of things that I immediately wanted. Well worth exploring.

This store has such a wide variety of everything! So many mens, womens, and Childrens clothes as well as home decor, sports equipment, home appliances and mattresses, basically everything! This was a great find and I found a lot of gems. read more

As most thrift stores are it depends on my trip what I find but this time I found a pair of green velvet pants, an adorable pair of 70s style jeans, and a polka dot blazer. Not to mention they had a $1 sale rack when I went so the green velvet pants which I loved were only *you guessed it* $1! Also found an interesting looking book about the Kennedies' mysterious legacy and the Saturday Night Fever soundtrack on a record. Very pleased with this thrift trip! read more

New to Salem, I did some research for the best thrift stores. Teen Challenge was said to be a great spot. Reasonable prices, friendly people and eclectic selection. From what I saw, these statements were true. However, I was disappointed to see employees in the back not wearing masks at all or distancing themselves. Granted, the bay door was open so there was some air circulation even though the public area and the back aren't separated by anything. I scurried away and was then approached by an employee coming from behind the register with his entire face out. Steady walking toward me while saying friendly hellos to my registered service animal. I had to quickly walk backwards with my hand up saying multiple times to stop. Finally when he did, I asked him to please cover his face back up. I put the items I picked back on the shelf where I got them and left. Perhaps in a few years when the risk is lower I will return but for now the company doesn't seem to take the health of others as serious as I do. It's important for me to vote with my dollars where I feel comfortable and where stores are not only saying they take precautions but actually abide by them. If the fear is that you don't want to scare away a sale by enforcing safety guidelines, or having that uncomfortable talk (cover your nose/put your mask on) you're probably loosing more by perpetuating an unsafe environment. I am a prime example. I wish the team at TCTS safety and health. read more

Teen Challenge used to be my favorite thrift store. most of the volunteers are kind and welcoming. But here's my problem. I don't know what changed within the past year but they started marking most of their clothes individually. Now these separately marked clothes are white and black tag color, which is not on their sale color list and they NEVER go on sale. ALSO these individually marked clothes are FULLY OUTRAGEOUSLY priced. I think it is absolutely ridiculous that a used jacket is marked $40. I'm very angry. This is stupid and ridiculou. There is a lot to choose from in this store. Today when I stopped by I noticed they even have wedding dresses there. A lot of them. The store is organized pretty good and they have decent specials and certain things. Today everything was 30% off. The charity seems to be great. A good option if you like checking out thrift stores. read more

We went just looking for furniture stuff. Their prices were way over priced. An older well use couch with dog hair all over it they were asking almost $300 for. Then a old wood coffee table painted not by a professional mind you that I would have paid $20 for they were asking $129. I don't know for me I find these prices to be extremely high for a thrift store. read more

Great prices and a great cause. Donations and money go to fight addictions. I got a large framed print, swivel rocker and hideabed couch for less than $100, so not sure where the retail price statement came from. Great place! read more

i absolutely love this thrift store. i came in on a weekend after seeing a sign outside that said all their furniture was half price! after spending an hour sitting/reclining/laying on all their couches i finally made my decision on a couch with a king size hide-a-bed. i think their couches are fairly priced, compared to most thrift stores in the area. they also offer $20 in-town delivery. i got out of there paying $50 for the couch (after they took off the 50% discount), and $20 cash for same day delivery. other thrift stores charge more for delivery, and some don't even deliver at all! they have lots of furniture: couches, love seats, arm chairs, entertainment centers, dining room tables and chairs. i didn't see any book cases, however. they also have an okay housewares section with decently priced items. also, there are TONS of clothes which i haven't had time to look through. most sections of the store are VERY organized and tidy. you don't have to do a lot of digging to find some great, affordable things. read more
