Family Bicycle on South Dixie in Lake Worth actually told me to go here because I bought a high-end bike and one of his former employees started the shop up north here at LC and I've had my bike worked on a whole bunch of times here and these guys have been awesome. They save me some money whenever they can, just no complaints at all and they're awesome!!!.... and I'm sure they send people down to Family Bicycle when they're looking for lower end bikes or whatever..... great group of guys helping each other out. Shop work: too many careless mistakes Friendly staff, fast turnaround, basic work was done OK, but too many careless mistakes. Owner corrected all issues I couldn't, but it necessitated a 35 minute return trip to the shop. First shop visit was to install new 700 x 28 tires and tubes. Only realized today, after first (pinch) flat, that mechanic installed 18-25 tubes. Now I understand why my bike has been handling poorly and the ride has been so rough- undersized, over inflated tubes have no capacity to absorb shock from rough roads. Owner comped me correctly sized tubes. Second shop visit was a major tune up: cables, housing, brake pads, chain, headrace bearings, broken spoke replacement and wheel true. $440. Handlebar tape wrapped professionally, but 2" of finish tape was hanging down on one side. Steerer tension not tight enough. Failed to pretension or properly adjust rear cable. Rear wheel skewer was not tight enough. Rear V brake was off center- dragging on wheel. Resolved with a 5 minute adjustment when returned to the shop. read more

I'm a very novice rider and i've been to a few bike shops. I currently have a Specialized Roubaix and a Rockhopper. The Roubaix i bought private, but i know I'll be going to LC Tri when it's time to upgrade. I did buy my Rockhopper from Leo and i had an excellent experience. They make you feel comfortable and don't feel judged that you don't have a super expensive bike, or that you don't know a lot. Which i think is very important. Leo and his team is very passionate and knowledgeable. He is also always happy to share his knowledge. One occasion which really stuck in my head; i bought carbon Reynolds wheels from a friend (they were used) i took them to LC, they installed tubes/tires and put them on my bike. The bike looked sweet and rode awesome. A few days later i noticed one of my tires had a slit in it right by where the carbon on the wheel seemed to be damage, me being a rookie wasn't sure if it was from install or what. I reached out to Leo, he said to bring the wheels by. So i did, he not only showed me that to put the tires on is easy, he also fixed the wheel at no cost and replaced my brand new Gatorskins that i bought from him a week ago. LC Tri Shop, more specifically, Rudy, does an awesome job doing bike fittings at their "Cycle Fit Studio". Being a previous collegiate athlete, I have a lot of injuries and was looking for somewhere that would be able to fit my bike properly. I made an appointment easily on their website. They were very responsive and flexible with my work schedule. Rudy took three hours to make sure my bike fit perfectly. I no longer have elbow pain on my bike or lower back pain. He is awesome! I definitely would recommend them for your fitting and will be back for my next bike. read more

Adding to the 5 star ratings. Based on other users' positive feedback, I brought my "family bikes" here for a tuneup and have been back a couple of times to shop. The entire staff is very polite and helpful, both the mechanic shop (Jim) and the store front staff. Our bikes were ready same-day and 1 day ahead of schedule, even though the mechanics staff were super busy servicing other bikes. I race road bikes and have (big) kids... and this shop has everything from family bikes/products to top-manufacturer time trial bikes and race orientated service. Not impressed. I brought a bike in for one specific fix, I told the mechanic, I know it needs a tune up but I do not want to have that service at this time. I told the guy twice. I picked up the bike and I was charged for a full tune. This is neither fair nor honest. I will not be back. read more

They tailor their recommendations to each customer based on their needs, not what will make them the most money, if they don't have a product in stock they will get it (as quickly as possible) and their pricing is very fair.
