You know when a place is special because the service and food makes you feel special but unfortunately during my birthday dinner at Jackalope Ranch restaurant, the tri-tip strips I ordered were very tough and difficult to chew. I tried to eat them, but they were not cut properly against the grain. When I brought this to the attention of a staff member, they did not offer an apology, refund, or gift card, just a shrug. All I wanted was a plate of tri-tip I could eat. On our next visit, we ordered the sausage charcuterie appetizer which was disappointing for the price. The sausages were dry and served without any dipping sauce like mustard. When we requested mustard to make them edible, it never arrived. Eventually, I had to get up and ask the bartender for some mustard. Despite the nice venue design, there seems to be a need for better management in the kitchen and front of house for the restaurant to succeed. Such a shame because we very much enjoy taking our out-of-town visitors to interesting venues, but never will we dare if the food and service is disappointing. read more

I was so happy to see that the legacy of Mr Callendar's beautiful vision for a restaurant has been revived. The néw management has done an excellent job of recapturing the fantastic ambience of this lovely place. Not only that the food was superb and reasonably priced on an extensive menu, and even though it was packed our waitress handled it wonderfully. Happy hour is from 3-6. We dined at the Jackalope last evening. Really wanted to love it but the food was very disappointing. The pork sliders had very little pork which consisted of small, hard pieces. The barbecue sauce tasted like it came out of the grocery store bottle. They put two or three pieces of coleslaw on the slider. The pork sliders at Babe's are loaded with meat and it is tender with no coleslaw. The sweet potato fries were good but were very dark which probably means the oil was old We will not return to Jackalope - shame the restaurant and grounds are so attractive. What a disappointment. Went there on a Thursday night at 730pm. We sat at our table for 10 minutes, no server, no water, no nothing. I flagged down the hostess as she passed and asked if we could get some water at least. She apologized brought us water and said she would send over a server. A few minutes later a sour faced server showed up with a major attitude and took our drink orders. After a few more minutes he dropped off the drinks and that was our last interaction. He waited on the table next to us numerous times since they still didn't have their food, but never bothered to stop at our table again. After 25 minutes and we still hadn't even placed our food order that was enough and we just got up and left. We will not be going back anytime soon. read more

Food and service were great... they have a way to go with other issues... same decor and not fully open yet... outside area is always inviting but the garish bright lights when you enter are not... nor are the bright lights at the bar and dining area.. there is no warmth sitting anywhere in the main dining area... warmth and subdued lighting is what they need.. the piped music of new country is harsh and not welcoming, softer older country if they choose to go that route would be much appreciated... now we get to the Martini... get a glass that can accommodate your pour instead of leaving 2 inches or more from the rim... we don't mind paying for what we get but either pour more or get an appropriate glass that says " that's a martini!" We will go back but will not a third time if the above is not addressed... wish them luck but it is a huge nut to crack and their prices are not inexpensive.... read more

We have been to this location many times and had some decent food as well as some great food. Service has always been very good. But since it was sold, the new owners have stepped it up big time. The food has been dialed in, especially anything that is smoked. They had a soft opening on September 10, 2004. My friends were craving smoked ribs and one of them had just gotten home from the hospital. We asked if we could have a takeout order but they were not taking takeout orders yet as it was their soft opening. But, the ladies in the front as well as one of the managers, Emma, went to bat for us. They got us an exception and made my friends night. The food was phenomenal, the service was awesome. Cannot wait to go back & dine in. The smoked baby back ribs, the chimichurri, the salmon, and the brisket are all delicious. You need to try this place. First time I've been back since the reopening. Busy Saturday night. The restaurant was packed with several parties waiting in the lobby. First off, our server Tonya was amazing. She was attentive and friendly, and made great suggestions. The food was excellent. I had the special, which was a boneless ribeye with shrimp. The prime steak was cooked perfectly medium rare and was delicious. My wife had the Wagu meatloaf, which was amazing. We'll definitely be back, and can't wait to try out the happy hour. read more

We came here for the first time since it opened to be let down. It was our Valentine's dinner. The atmosphere gets 5 stars. The service snail slow and gets 1 star. 4 young girls stood at the hospitality check in, laughing and talking while people were in the front waiting to be seated. More then plenty of tables, but no one being seated. We had reservations at 4 and so stood there while they all talked and laughed. We finally got seated, but way over by the kitchen, not by the bar or near other booths and people. We asked for a better table which took a long time to get. They were not busy. Unfortunately when you hire young people today, you don't get the service we use to get growing up. Then it came time to order. We ordered our alcohol drinks and tried to order a starter, she walked away while trying to place that order. A long while longer she came back and they didn't have Modelo. She went away again and then came back a little longer and told us they don't have cucumbers for my drink. We looked at each other and said, Let's go. We won't be back. I was really hoping that it would run better once it reopened. The menu wasn't that thrilling either. What happened to the spicy chili pepper mac n cheese they use to have? Wow! Jackalope Ranch Rocks! Our Organization held an Outdoor Luau last night for 140 members and Jackalope Ranch set up an amazing setting for our event...great ambiance with beautiful Palm Trees lit with market lights, linen covered tables with cushion chairs, bar and refreshment area and a Fantastic Delicious array of Luau Style Food. The staff was extremely friendly which made our guests feel welcomed! Perfect setting for our Hawaiian Hula Dancers that entertained our group. Kudos to the staff at Jackalope Ranch... 5 Stars! We shared the evening's special, rib eye with baked potato and fresh veggies. The share charge was only an extra $5 which gave us each a baked potato and full serving of the veggies. Everything was fabulous from beginning to end! We had been to the Jackalope Ranch when the previous owners had it and it was bad...beautiful place but food and service were horrible. We had been waiting for months for this place to reopen, total disappointment, fist off the drinks were Horrible, they didn't have half of the beers on the menu, we ordered the Calamari , it was over cooked no flavor, my wife ordered the wedge salad, it was Nasty! I was very excited when jackalopes reopened with New Management but I was extremely disappointed with last night's visit. My friend got there at 4:15 the girl that greeted her was not very nice she was upset that we did not have a reservation. This place is extremely large there were plenty of tables and it was no reason we could not sit outside. They were very rude to my friend. I arrived at 5:00 p.m. I walked in there was a very pretty girl at the front she was on the phone she had an attitude she would not look up at us she was extremely rude. Another girl came through that looked totally disheveled she was kind the manager stepped in and found my friends. The wait staff were very unhappy, the food unfortunately is still awful. We had the pulled pork sliders they were about a three on a scale of a 1 to 10, we got there house salad it was warm the waitress told us they had Italian dressing, they do not have Italian dressing they have some weird lemon dressing that tasted like it was fat-free sugar-free it was not very tasteful at all. I asked if I could have Ranch the ranch came out very warm it too tasted very awful. I sent back my salads my friend said back her soup the food was awful. My other friend had the fish sandwich it too looked horrible she didn't eat it we were very very disappointed. Whoever the new management is you need to hire new wait staff definitely new chefs it's not good it's worse than it was before. I'm really bummed lbecause it's a great restaurant the Ambiance is incredible you just need the right people in there that know how to run it, wait staff that is happy to see you, servers that are happy to serve you, and the greeters to be pleasant. The food was mediocre. This is definitely not a place for fancy meals or if you want to impress yourself or someone else with a good time. The scenery is the only thing worthy of this place but everything else is just not great. We had a large group of 10 and although we were sat promptly we had to wait 1 hour for our food. The Cesar Salad was the worst of it all. The food was cold when served and our waitress didn't really check up on us. I attribute that to the included gratuity for parties of 8 or more. She knew she was getting a tip regardless. Half the menu was "coming soon" and unavailable. I don't recommend this place if you are hungry, or looking for a great time. We will not be returning, even though they gave us $5 gift cards for the bad service provided. I really wanted to like this place but trust me, there are better places to check out. Overall experience was disappointing, service not good. baby back ribs and brisket were good, corn bread great, both salads average. Corn on the cob was awful, pointed it out to our server and he brought another one, it was worse then first one served. We were very interested in checking out the Jackalope Ranch since it's reopening. It is one of the most beautiful restaurants and bars in the area. We only went for happy hour. We sat outside on the beautiful patio. The drinks were a bit sweeter than we expected. Service was fine. Ordered the loaded fries with pork and the potatoes were soggy. Would expect them to be crispy and crunchy with all the toppings they put on it. Not much pulled pork on them. The potato skins were very good however. Prices are reasonable based on what you would get for happy hour at other places. We will be back for a dinner sometime soon. read more
