STAY AWAY. If there was an option for "Negative 5 stars," I would use it. Jacqueline ended up being a severe disappointment. I question her integrity, her idea of customer service, her honesty, her compassion, and her professionalism. Maybe she and her office should focus more on improving their skills, technique, and communication...and less on marketing emails about toxic products. I went to her dermatology office for years, starting out with a different doctor, then ending up with Jacqueline when the other doctor left. Both doctors left me with ugly scars that they had claimed wouldn't happen. The last couple months of contact with her staff, and my last visit to her office, were outrageous and inexcusable. Her staff can't answer basic questions about their field, and hangs up on you, and then she has the nerve to accuse me of "upsetting her staff." She refuses to get on the phone for 20 seconds to answer one quick question from a scared patient, which shocked her own general manager. Her local office manager, Davis, is abrasive, dismissive, and beyond rude. Jacqueline accused me of "pushing back too much" for taking my time before letting her do procedures on MY BODY. Claimed our past few years of contact had conflict, when in fact we had ALWAYS had a friendly rapport. Also, none of the procedures her office ever did ended up revealing anything scary in the final diagnosis, which, combined with her whining about me "not trusting her enough," make me wonder if they are just after the money from procedures, necessary or not. There are very few local dermatologists available in my network, hence why I stayed with that office for so long (too long). Hoping my new doctor has more integrity, compassion, and honesty! read more

Over diagnosed a Melanoma. Had 2 other opinions and Dr Levins was inaccurate. Stay away from her and West Dermatology.

I had a procedure done in February of this year. Although I was referred to Dr. Levin by a friend, I did my usual pre-visit homework and from what I found, I felt comfortable moving ahead. Unfortunately, during and subsequent to my procedure, I have been extremely disappointed and frustrated. To summarize - I had a laser treatment on my face. The staff and doctor were negligent in the application of the numbing agent that was applied to my face prior to the procedure. My eyes were not protected, had to be rinsed repeatedly, were burning and my vision was affected. Despite this, I was assured that we were ok to go ahead with the procedure. I trusted they knew what they were doing. After the procedure, I could barely see and my left eye was in a lot of pain. They rinsed my eyes and sent me home with extra drops. I had to go to the emergency room a few hours later, where I found my cornea had been damaged. I spent the next couple of weeks in considerable pain, making trips to Kaiser, suffered a fractured toe due to my impaired vision, and had to wear a boot for weeks, after returning to work. Although the specialist I saw said my cornea healed, my vision has continued to be unstable and I am still struggling to get fitted with glasses. I couldn't wear closed toe shoes for months and my toe aches sometimes, which I have been told is to be expected. I was not seeking to sue for mal-practice or negligence; I just wanted to get reimbursed for my medical expenses and asked to discuss what might be fair for my pain and suffering. I was offered products and less than what I spent on the procedure in services, which I have since looked into the value of, and it turned out to be the equivalent of one office visit for some touch ups. Admittedly, I was frustrated and upset that I never got an apology for their mistake or an acknowledgement that they caused this to happen. My perception is there was a concern of what might happen and rather than doing the right thing, the doctor opted to protect her interests instead. Eventually, I called the office, spoke with the staff and asked who I could talk to about this and they referred me to someone they said was from their legal department. Needless to say, this person did not follow though and quickly dropped out of sight, without even obtaining my documents, pictures, etc. I have made attempts to contact her and recently the doctor, with no responses from either one. I have been extremely patient and it is now December, 10 months since this happened and still no resolution. A lesson learned for me and a warning to others - Don't feel badly if you have to pursue in court something that could have been taken care of easily and fairly, just because you have a mutual friend and don't want to make your friend uncomfortable or cause hard feelings. No matter how many glowing Yelp reviews someone has, there is usually some validity to the bad ones too. I would not recommend a doctor whose post-op care does not equal their pre-op and especially not one who does damage and does not take accountability for it, but instead "ghosts" you like a bad date. read more

I wish I could say better. I gave her 2 stars only because, yes, "she" was attentive and helpful, however her administrative staff and assistant are all horrible. Unfortunately, if you require help beyond the first visit that requires her staff to help...you are out of luck. We have made countless calls to get the information we need to move forward with a particular process for our daughter and have recieved nothing back as promised. Dr. Levin and her entire staff are excellent! I like how she explains every thing that is happening when I am having a mole removed. I had Mohs done on my forehead and the procedure was efficient. I would 100 percent recommend Dr. Levin. I wanted to see Dr. Levin for Botox, as a friend said she was very good. Well, I absolutely love my results!! I have seen many doctors in the past, some giving me bruising, others almost always requiring me to go in for a second visit, but Dr. levin got it right the first time! Dr. Levin is absolutely, hands down one of the best Dermatologists that you can go to. I went in for a mole check and found her to be compassionate, knowledgeable and really easy to talk to. My experience was very good. I believe she has 3 offices, I saw her in the Mission Viejo location. Dr. Levin was professional, knowledgeable and answered all my questions. I feel so sorry to give Dr. Levin anything but a 5 star rating, but due to her HORRIBLE staff, I have no choice. I saw Dr. Levin in August to have a mole removed and was told that I would receive my results shortly. One month later, I received a $600 bill from the pathology lab and another $600 bill from Tayani. Tayani had never submitted my insurance information. I called the lab, Tayani, and my insurance company to have the mess shorted out. I also called Tayani because I hadn't received my results yet. A bill before my results? 3 weeks later, I get my results back in the mail. There was a side note saying that they had lost my contact information and were unable to call me to tell me over the phone. Anyway, I was no longer with my insurance company and would have to pay out of pocket for further procedures. Dr. Levin's assistant, Sandra, was called to 1. explain why my contacting information went missing 2. why my insurance wasn't billed and 3. to reluctantly set up an appointment for my procedure. Of course none of these above problems was her fault but she would surely have someone from billing call me to go over everything and give me a cash price. Without hearing from Sandra, I called Tayani 3 weeks ago and OF COURSE Dr. Levin and Sandra were at the Big Bear office so I left a message on Sandra's voicemail. OF COURSE she didn't call me back so today I called her. The receptionist asked for my information and said they would try to get a hold of her. TEN MINUTES later of being on hold, the woman tells me she is unavailable (or she just didn't want to speak to me). One hour later, I get a call from Tayani while I was at work and no one left a message. Dr. Levin, I am so sorry but my business is going elsewhere. I don't have the time nor patience to deal with your staff who doesn't have any respect or consideration for your patients. You are a wonderful doctor and you deserve a better staff. read more

After months of procrastination, research and referrals I found Dr. Levin through a friend. I was seeking a dermatologist for some skin irritations as well as consultation in cosmetic procedures I was considering. Dr. Levin spent the time to listen to my concerns, throughly diagnose my existing problem, and provide guidance and consultation into the cosmetic procedures I am considering. I will definitely return to her to perform these. I was concerned about billing based on the reviews, but her staff promptly followed up with my insurance and was able to tell me exactly what types of procedures were covered by my insurance, HSA and what I was responsible for. The staff was warm and welcoming and provided assurance as I am very uneasy with medical procedures even prior to my see Dr. Levin. I am 100% happy with the overall service received and look forward to a younger me with the help of Dr. Levin! read more

Love Dr. Levin!! I finally have found a dermatologist I feel like I can go to for everything. She looked at some moles I was concerned about and was so easy to talk to. I also had some questions about Botox and anti-aging products and she was quick to point me in the right direction. She knew about so many products and the ingredients in them, and what would be most beneficial for me. She came up with a plan for my skin, and it has been almost a month and I see a huge change. I really appreciated that she gave me products from a couple different lines, and I felt like she really customized it to fit my needs. I am so happy with my results so far with just the little changes I made in my daily product use! Best bedside manner in any doctor I've ever been to, would highly recommend Dr. Levin for anything skin related!! read more
