I went to visit Dr. Mundi a couple of months ago to ask her to diagnose a bump on the back of my neck and a small bump on my arm to make sure they were not malignant. She diagnosed the bump on my neck as pseudofolliculitis, and recommended a small an injection, and then applied some liquid nitrogen to remove what she said was a wart on my arm. The entire visit took less than 3 minutes, and I naively thought the extremely minor treatments would be included in the office visit fee. But no, they appeared in the bill as separate line items, including the absolutely absurd characterization of the wart treatment as "surgery," and I a was charged over $125 (after insurance). After two months, the injection has had no appreciable impact on the bump on my neck. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I called to see if this practice could take a second look the ineffective treatment, but they want to charge for an office visit.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] No thanks, I'll pick another (among countless) dermatology practices in the area that may actually stand by their work. I firmly believe that this practice loves pushing minor procedures after making 30 second diagnoses, because as anyone in the medical field knows, procedures are far more profitable than diagnostic work. read more

The providers are great. Super knowledgeable in their expertise and all have a great bedside manner. Well this is a little disturbing. I am a current patient (well not anymore) and have had 1 bout of skin cancer which was successfully removed. I have 2 other spots that we discussed as "keep a close eye on". I was told to make a follow-up appointment if I noticed changes and tell the front desk that I am a current patient with cancer history, and that I would not have to wait the 5 months for an appointment. I called today and was told there are no appointments until the end of September (4 months wait). I explained my situation and was pretty much told I'm outta luck. I said I guess I'll have to find somebody else and was told "Okay, that's fine". I'm following their direction on follow up treatments but if their rules changed, so be it. I get being busy and overwhelmed however I'm not waiting for a car wash or a contractor to paint my house...This is my health and being a former 2-time cancer patient (1 skin, 1 other) should put me in the front of the line and not given a poor attitude when I questioned the wait. read more

I have been here 3x over the last few years. Last week I went for IPL for the first time there, but second time receiving this treatment for dark spots. So I fully understand the outcome expectations for the treatment within 24-48 hours. The very expensive treatment resulted in NO skin results. As if nothing was done at all. I fully expect a refund, have called to request one (since between their before photo to compare with mine after 2 days will be the same) and have heard nothing. Thank goodness. They take tricare select insurance which is what I needed. They provided me with sunscreen following a procedure where I am sensitive to sun. If you have precious teenagers and live in Orange County read this review!! Today I called the office sharp at 8am to see if they could see my daughter as an emergency add on. My daughter was a new patient to this office and they worked her in at 9am. The attention to my daughters skin history was thoroughly reviewed and well discussed. I saw Dr. Mundi for a painful skin lesion. She is knowledgeable and caring. The office was able to get me in quickly on another patient cancellation. Dr. Mundi answered all my questions regarding my autoimmune skin issues. She took time with me and reassured me. I use to go to a dermatology center in Newport Beach where Dr. Amy Litchfield was on staff. A few years ago I call up Newport to make an appointment with her and when I get there I am taken into the room and some other doctor comes in and I question where Amy is and I am told she left about a year ago. Ummm... should have told me that when I made the appointment. So, I go along with my annual skin check with the new doctor and omg... what a nightmare. At this point I am very frustrated and start a search for Dr. Litchfield and I find her at Ladera. Thank god for the internet. She totally kicks ass as a doctor, i.e., she treats you like a person. She is not one of those doctors that is arrogant and pompous. Thumbs up to Dr. Litchfield and the Ladera group. The office runs very smooth. Everything is automated. One drawback is that is is hard to get an appointment on the fly. read more

As a young person I spent lots of time in the sun and enjoyed getting sunburned. No sunscreen, no worries at that time. I had my first major surgery for skin cancer in my early fifties and now have lost count of how many (not all major, but surgeries nevertheless less) I've had. I'd like to tell everyone with any skin problems about Dr. Elizabeth Lener and her staff at the Dermatology Center at Ladera. I always look forward to my appointments for skin checks and know that she will take care of all my problems. She makes going to the doctor such a pleasure. Dr Lener is so sweet and caring. I cannot recommend this clinic highly enough. I brought a family member in with an unusual and difficulty problem, which wasn't responding to usual treatments. Dr. Lerner was thorough in her evaluation and gentle in her treatments. When it was apparent something else was going on, she was active in helping us find other specialists and continued to be involved as we discussed the findings and treatment options. Rarely do you see such dedication and continued care from a specialist. The front office staff has been routinely helpful, supportive and friendly. They have worked to find us a spot to be seen and call back to make sure we have been accommodated. An added bonus is the online services - able to send Dr Lerner a message and she responds promptly. I cannot believe how insensitive and the easy in which a the front office staff dismissed a patient. I called last week because my husband is having a severe skin issue on his feet and can barely walk. After being referred to Dr. Mundi, call the office and was told that the soonest there was an appointment was MAY! I explained the urgency and asked if the doctor see's emergency cases. I was told NO dermatologists do not do that and that we should go to urgent care, we have and referred to a derm. I asked she would please check with the dr. this cannot wait until MAY. She said no we do not do that. I called the neighboring doctor and they too had a long wait for an appointment. I explained again and she said, "oh no we will get you right in.!" read more

I have been going to the Dermatology Center at Ladera for over ten years. When I first went here, I was seeing Dr. Lener. The practice expanded, and I was seeing different doctors all the time. Dr Lener is great, but the other doctors are just as good. I moved out of the area and went to a doctor that was local to me - big mistake. Although it is a long drive, I have returned to this office. I now see Dr Mundi on my visits. She is great and extremely thorough. Her bedside manner is fantastic. Everyone at this office is fantastic, including the office staff. This has to be one of the best run doctor's offices that I have ever had the pleasure of visiting. I just hope that my primary care doctor does not read this and gets jealous ;). read more

Absolutely do not go here if you value money. I paid $300 to get a tiny wart removed and of course it didn't work the first time so I went back thinking the 1 minute freeze would be part of the $300....nope. So $600 for 1 wart and still not gone. Where is the incentive for them to get it removed the first time!? (In comparison a family member of mine said he got his removed on two visits for $60) They also don't forewarn you about any moles being removed are automatically sent in for a biopsy. Meaning 3 moles removed and I get a bill for $1500. Oh and then they send in a prescription and try and charge $650 to fulfill, I say no way I'm paying that and then they say ok well we may have a coupon you can use and get it for $80!! Wtf isn't that offered in the beginning? Not a review on their competency as they may be qualified but unless you want to pay 800% more I suggest another place. read more

I recently went to get a skin cancer check with Dr. Fogelson at the dermatology center in Ladera Ranch. I was very overdue for one. It had been three years or so since my last one. She was very thorough and used liquid nitrogen on growths when appropriate. What made the process so enjoyable was her sense of humor! She was very nice and I will go back again. Her medical assistant, Heilli, was awesome too! She patiently removed skin tags that were in my neck area. Even the small ones. I'm very pleased with the results! Everyone at this center is nice, Lynette and Michelle in the front office kept checking for appointment availability when I called or stopped by, and I got a prompt callback when one became available.
