I've been going to Laguna Dermatology off and on for several years now, for various dermatology needs. Most recently, I came back for a series of 6 sessions of therapy recommended by the doctors. I started out with seeing Carmen for the first two sessions before she went on vacation. Then I met with Dalet briefly after Carmen left. Dalet went over all the details again and thoroughly explained the process. She was very professional and pleasant. Then Lena took over for the rest of the times. Lena was very helpful, detail-oriented, and kind. She was also very meticulous and made sure I had everything I needed at each visit. She prepared the room neatly and made it cozy before I came, with all my favorites (TV channel, beverage, blanket, etc.). Thank you Lena for being so caring. You're awesome! I had a pretty bad experience with Dr. Trodello and wanted to address this issue directly with the office. I wrote to them, explaining the issue, in hopes to have some resolution. It's been a month since I've written to them, and I still haven't heard back. While they seemed to have been too busy to reply to me, they weren't busy enough to send me a bill for the unpleasant visit. I've read other reviews where Dr. Trodello's procedures weren't complete and I had that same problem. When I brought it up to him and expressed my dissatisfaction, he was so defensive to the point that he walked out of the room. Never in my life have I had a doctor walk out on me in the middle of an appointment, which says a lot about his bedside manner (or lack thereof). Needless to say, I won't be coming back and do not recommend this place to anyone. read more

AVOID THIS OFFICE!! WORST EXPERIENCE with a dermatology office I've EVER encountered. Office staff is extremely inexperienced and woefully INCOMPETENT!!. I waited over a month for simple biopsy results, no office staff member ever initiated follow up. When I complained and asked them to get my results (after waiting a month) they said "oops we took a bad sample can you come back so we can redo it"UNBELIEVABLE! I asked their office staff several times for an actual doctor to call me regarding my experience and they never responded, which is typical of this place. They don't even bother answering the phone most days it just goes straight to voicemail. Horrible!! HARD PASS ON THIS PLACE! After seeing another dermatologist for the first time about a year ago, I wasn't looking forward to going back for an annual appointment. This guy was very short, very informal, and it almost felt like my presence was a nuisance to him. When it was time for my annual visit, I decided to try a new dermatologist, and I'm so glad i decided to see Dr. Channual. Immediately upon stepping into the office, I was impressed with the decor and general office vibe. Obviously none of that matters if the doctor isn't good, but I think it illustrates that the staff cares about creating a pleasant experience (as opposed to my previous Dr who hadn't updated the waiting room in 25 years probably). As for Dr Channual-- she's great! Very friendly, knowledgable and happy to explain every step of the process or answer my questions as they came up. When it came time to excise an abnormal mole, she did the procedure in such a quick and painless manner that I was actually surprised when she said "all done!" because I had barely felt anything. Her staff is also great, and very helpful with their instructions and supplies for post-care. Appointment reminders and followups have been great as well. So relieved to have found Dr. Channual, so I don't have to dread my dermatologist appointments. read more

She maimed me. Gave me a second degree burn on my hand when trying to burn off a tiny wart the size of a pin head. I couldn't dress in anything but sweats for the first month because I couldn't get my pants up and down. I couldn't use my dominate hand for a month to feed myself...the list goes on.The first two weeks I had to wear pj bottoms only. Four months later I am still having trouble even blow drying my hair. I had to buy a blow dryer that has a roller brush so I could use two hands, buy smaller drinking glasses and lighter silverware so I could eat easier. couldn't type for 5 weeks because it was to bad. My primary doctor said she gave me a second degree burn and when I went to another dermatologist he told me that it could take a year to a year and a half for the nerve damage to go away...IF IT GOES AWAY. I saw Dr. Channual for my initial appointment but have seen both Rasha and Dr. Trodello for other concerns. Due to my job it's hard to plan ahead but they can always get me in same day/week. Every experience I've ever had with all providers and staff has been the most educational and pleasant encounters. I trust them and their knowledge with my skin concerns. I am almost 30 and am currently on a treatment plan for acne scars and overall aging prevention with Renee the RN! I was treated for acne by Dr. Trodello, and it was life changing. You wouldn't think acne would affect you in your 30s. Growing up I tried all the topical medications and antibiotics which did not help. He started me on isotretinoin which just did the trick. My face is clearer than ever. Came as a new patient to discuss some hair loss and then get a skin check. Dr. Channual and all the girls I met at the office are very nice. The office is really pretty. My reason for 2 stars comes with what happened after. I went and did the recommended bloodwork. I received the results from Quest 3 days later and there were definitely some concerns. I hadn't heard from anyone at the office. I immediately forwarded them to my PCP and he's been working with me on getting more answers. It's been over 2 weeks and today I get a call that my results are in. I called Laguna Dermatology and was told there's concerns on my bloodwork and asked if I have a Primary Care doctor. I very quickly explained that I know there's concerns because I got the results from Quest over 2 weeks ago and decided I needed to take action now and already contacted by PCP. The response was very unemotional. It appears to me after visiting the office and the delay in connecting with a patient over abnormal test results (which didn't even come from the doctor herself) that the patient load is probably too much for the practice. I'll continue working with my PCP and look for another dermatologist next year when it's time for another skin check. read more

So, I used to see Dr. C at her old company in Newport and I found out she moved to work on her own, I had to stop by. I used to see her for Botox, as a special treatment for myself to prevent lines, but i went to see her this time cuz I just had a baby and he destroyed my face (hormones)! I was breaking out so much. So, I called Dr. C to make an appointment to fix my face. She recommended a hydrofacial to give me back moisture. So, the hydrofacial consists with cleaning, exfoliating, and extracting all the crap from my hormones and putting all this good shit into my face. And... It doesn't hurt. I was like IS THIS LIKE A CHEM PEEL?! and it is not. Thank God. Procedure: Dr. C sat me down and explained the whole process and I had a lot of questions. Cuz, I hate pain. And, it was painless. Her medical assistant was great. She told me step by step what she was doing. Dr. C would check on me and made sure everything was good. I left the place feeling really refreshed and my skin felt so clean and moisturized and also tight. Yassssss... Dr. C told me to come back and I'll see even more differences. My skin felt damn good. So, I gotta do this again. I need to become the MILF I was meant to be. EXTRA: So, while I was pregnant. I had a mole on my stomach that seemed to have grown and stretch. It looked pretty bad. I asked Dr. C if she could look at it and she did! She was so attentive and explained it was because of my hormones and it's normal. Yassss... I have called the office for an appointment and made it clear I needed to have a few skin tags burned off. I specified I had a yearly skin check performed by my regular dermatologist. On the day of the visit I specified again that I did not require a consultation just the procedure. I guess it was my misunderstanding but a new patient charge was assessed. Very hard to believe these reviews, but I chose channual based on them and the experience was very poor. First she would always come in the room late, when I saw this, I mean at least 45 minutes waiting, although I was always the only person in the waiting room. Then she would recommend freezing to everything you show her, without even looking. She doesn't check on any spot, just brings the nitrogen tube with her, as that makes her money. Each time I asked her what she believed a spot was, her reply was I don't know, if it's cancer, you will see it growing. That is why I do not consider channual a doctor, because a doctor would not say anything like this. We all know cancer grows, and that is exactly why we go to the doctor, to not let that happen. I had an inflamed skin tag that needed removed and she told me I would have to be put under and the excision done in an operation room. I am seeing a new dermatologist, not a sales person of cosmetic procedures, who removed the lesion in 3 seconds, in the office, no anesthesia, no pain, no bleeding, complect healing, pathology came back benign. It's a shame that some people become doctors only for profit, and channual is no exception. If you are there for expensive cosmetic treatment, she is your person, if you have an actual dermatological problem, or try to stay away from cancer, stay away from this office. read more

Dr. Channual is an awesome dermatologist that really cares for your needs. After dealing with numerous dermatologists in my teen years dealing with my acne (I was even on Accutane!), Dr. Channual helped me find a regime to get my acne under control with little to no blemishes! She also helped with my acne scarring with a painless microneedling procedure that made my skin really smooth. I feel the smoothness and the before and afters pictures are amazing! I enjoyed her beautiful office and her services so much that I also decided to get some other work done recently. After a follow up and thorough skin check, Dr. Channual advised on removing a suspicious mole that I'm glad to have removed.
