What a woman. Arranging a whole wedding from across the country is no picnic. Jackie was communicative, prompt, friendly and understanding from the very beginning. She waved the trial because it was a destination wedding, thank goodness, and was extremely patient with me and my maid of honor when she showed up and asked what we'd like, and we didn't have a definitive answer. Honestly, I'm really glad we didn't have a mental image of what we wanted, because we put our faith in her and she didn't disappoint. Wow. Jackie was fantastic to work with. She did a great job during my wedding consultation a couple of days prior to my wedding in October 2013. However, I didn't feel like I would be completely comfortable wearing the hair and makeup that we had discussed during the trial. Over the next day or so I tried to figure out what I needed done differently. On the morning of the wedding, I had a better idea of the few small changes that I needed. She listened, thought about it for a little while and then completely embraced my ideas and made them her own. I have never felt more beautiful. Jackie as an absolute legend. I hired her for my July 4th wedding and she was nothing but amazing. I had her to do my hair and makeup and her assistant to do my bridesmaids makeup. She nailed my brief to perfection and I am still getting comments on how amazing my hair was. I cannot say enough good things about Jackie. I asked her to do my hair and makeup for a wedding that I was in during the month of February and she did an amazing job. I left her studio around 1pm and my look was still perfect in pictures taken at 1am. She is the ultimate professional and is very friendly and comfortable to be around. Jackie listened to what I was looking for and executed perfectly and also added special touches. She took a lot of care to accentuate my eyes - blending the perfect shadows and adding lashes for that extra oomph. There should be an award for how she covered the dark circles under my eyes. The weekend of the wedding was actually not a blizzard (for once) so I wanted my normally curly hair down in loose waves and she executed perfectly. There was no frizz to be had even after spending time outside during a blustery day. I couldn't have been happier with her skills and I will definitely be using her for any future opportunity for which I get to be gussied up. She knows exactly how to create a make-up look that feels great on my skin and looks exactly how it should on camera. V. Important! - She's has some mad skills. Jackie can make my hair get into complex styles and stay there (not an easy feat with my fine locks.) Again, she knows how styling translates on camera. Jackie did an AMAZING job for my daughter's wedding. She came to our hotel and did makeup and hair with a wonderful assistant, Brittany, for the bride, four bridesmaids, and the mother of the bride. Jackie did my hair and makeup for my wedding in Brooklyn in August. She was phenomenal. I'm not exactly a woman who does hair and makeup on a regular basis, so I had a hard time even articulating to Jackie what I wanted. But she was totally able to get a sense for me and make me over in a way that was very true to me. She has a really keen eye, but even beyond that, I think she works hard to get a good understanding of her clients, which is key for making them look and feel their very best. So I firmly believe that any bride - from a bride who knows exactly what she wants to a bride who isn't sure what looking her best means- would be thrilled with Jackie's services. I also really appreciated how well Jackie managed my expectations - she suggested options I didn't even know existed and was really helpful in making sure I understood the pros and the cons of each. At no point did I feel like she was telling me what I needed to hear or pulling wool over my eyes. She was incredibly professional and reliable, arriving right at 6AM to my hotel room because of my very tight wedding schedule (which I can't say for all of my wedding vendors). She worked out a great schedule for the big day and was very patient and flexible with me. I think her prices are very reasonable, and she is very upfront with any additional costs, so I always knew exactly what her services would cost and could budget accordingly. I think she is equally excellent at both hair and makeup, which I consider a huge asset. I think finding one person who does both well is rare, but it was important to me to deal with fewer vendors (less to manage on the big day). Jackie also hires great assistants - all the mothers, sisters and nieces were very happy with how they looked. She was a very calming presence to be around - I felt totally sure that Jackie wouldn't let me out of her sight/chair until she felt I looked my very best.
